Douluo: Becoming a God by Relying on my Enemies

Chapter 42: Chapter 42: Zhu Zhuqing vs. Tang San, Tang San’s Defeat

The outcome of the battle was all but certain unless Tang San resorted to using his hidden weapons. Without them, Zhu Zhuqing had the upper hand.

However, Tang San bore no grudge against Zhu Zhuqing, so the possibility of him employing such tactics was slim.

What Yun Feng didn't expect was that before the battle, Dai Mubai took Tang San aside to a small room, giving him some kind of instruction. Before entering, Dai Mubai shot a glance at both Yun Feng and Zhu Zhuqing, his gaze filled with malice.

Noticing this, Yun Feng furrowed his brows slightly.

"Zhuqing, be careful. I suspect Dai Mubai might have instructed Tang San to make things difficult for you."

Zhu Zhuqing, ever vigilant due to her past experiences, nodded solemnly. "I understand."

Seeing her cautious attitude, Yun Feng refrained from saying more.

Soon, Zhu Zhuqing stepped onto the stage through the battle tunnel.

Tang San, as usual, began the match politely, gesturing a respectful bow to Zhu Zhuqing.

"Please fight with everything you have," Zhu Zhuqing replied coldly, not reciprocating his courtesy.

Unlike the previous match, this battle started with both contestants releasing their martial souls immediately.

Zhu Zhuqing's transformation was striking. Her left eye turned jade green, her right sapphire blue, and a pair of feline ears perked atop her head. Her fingers extended into razor-sharp claws, and her body crouched low, her gaze predatory. Two yellow spirit rings shimmered around her.

Tang San's release of the Blue Silver Grass was equally dramatic. The blue-black vines slithered across the ground, covering a ten-meter radius around him, creating a near-impenetrable field.

Though the match hadn't officially begun, Tang San's confidence was palpable.

As a control system Spirit Master, Tang San inherently countered Zhu Zhuqing's agility-based combat style. The confined space of the arena further amplified his advantage, leaving him convinced of his inevitable victory.

At least, that's what he believed.

On the sidelines, Yun Feng saw Tang San's smug demeanor and calmly sat down to meditate.

Xiao Wu, observing Yun Feng's focus, couldn't help but sigh. "He's so diligent."

Hearing this, Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun turned to look at Yun Feng. Seeing him cultivating even in a brief downtime left them speechless.

"Brother Feng is already so strong, yet he still pushes himself like this?" Ma Hongjun muttered, incredulous. "No wonder he's so far ahead of us…"

On the stage, Zhu Zhuqing moved first. As the Blue Silver Grass crept toward her, she leapt forward with blinding speed, leaving afterimages in her wake.

The audience watched in awe as she darted directly into the field of Blue Silver Grass. The vines rose to form a cage, seemingly trapping both Tang San and Zhu Zhuqing inside.

The first spirit rings of both combatants lit up simultaneously.

Ghostly Thorn!

Mid-air, Zhu Zhuqing's claws extended further, her body changing trajectory sharply as her speed doubled. She streaked diagonally toward Tang San like a predatory shadow.

Tang San, unfazed, sidestepped just in time.

His eyes gleamed with a faint purple hue, a sign of his Purple Demon Eyes activating under pressure.

However, Zhu Zhuqing's speed wasn't something to scoff at. Her claws swiped mere inches from Tang San's body, the air buzzing from the near-miss.

Taking advantage of her momentum's end, Tang San activated his first spirit skill: Bind.

The Blue Silver Grass surged, entangling Zhu Zhuqing tightly. Tang San refrained from using its venom, ensuring she wasn't harmed.

The crowd thought it was over, and Tang San prepared to declare victory.

But before he could speak, Zhu Zhuqing's sharp claws shredded the vines effortlessly. In an instant, she was upon him, one claw sending him to the ground, the other pressed against his throat.

Her speed was so overwhelming that Tang San had no time to react.

"You've lost," Zhu Zhuqing said coldly.

Tang San, feeling the icy pressure at his neck, nodded reluctantly.

"I've lost," he admitted, his voice tinged with disappointment.

Walking off the stage, Tang San's expression was somber. His defeat wasn't just physical—it was deeply personal.

He couldn't help but question his fate.

Why had this world given him such immense talent only to curse him with an inexplicable ailment?

His body had betrayed him during the match. A moment of bloodlust had dulled his reflexes, allowing Zhu Zhuqing to break free and overpower him.

The realization left him bitter and frustrated.

This disease needs to be cured, Tang San resolved. If not, it'll be the end of me.

As for Dai Mubai's instructions, they had long been forgotten.

Returning to the stands, Zhu Zhuqing was greeted by Yun Feng, who stood up with a smile.

"Let's go," he said. "It's time for our two-on-two match."

Zhu Zhuqing nodded, and together they headed toward the two-on-two arena.

The Next Battle

Two-on-two matches were more time-consuming than one-on-one battles. Stepping onto the larger arena, Yun Feng surveyed their surroundings.

The audience for this event was notably larger, with about half the seats filled.

Their opponents, already waiting on the stage, were two young men in their late teens, both with strikingly similar appearances.

The announcer's voice boomed across the arena:

"Match Six: The Iron Armor Duo versus Team Phoenix Dance!"

Hearing their team name, Xiao Wu couldn't help but grumble, "Why are all these strength-type spirit masters the same? First one-on-one, now this?"

Their opponents were robust youths, just as physically imposing as the Ironhorn Rhinoceros from Xiao Wu's earlier fight.

While they weren't shirtless like Qing Nian, their exposed arms showcas

ed their powerful physiques.

The stage was set. It was time for Yun Feng and Xiao Wu to show their strength.
