Chapter 10: Russo-Japanese War part 1
As the Japanese Military assembled in Korea and made towards the border the Russians arrived at Vladivostok and started to ride a second train to the Yalu River.
The Yalu River is the border between Manchuria now Russia and Korea which is under Japanese occupation.
Anastasia decided that Vladivostok is to far away to lead the troops from and accompanied the Russian Army to the border, in violation of her father's orders.
As the Supreme Comander of this War she had final say except the Emporer so she established a FOB underground behind the troops who are now entrenched behind the Yalu River.
"Sir, shouldn't we march across the River and attack the Japanese?"
The highest ranking General asked Anastasia as per military customs.
"That's not needed, we wait for them to arrive at the River and once they try to cross we mow them down to cinders." Anastasia intends to wait for the Japanese to come to them and obliterate them. And then cross the river into Korea.
They waited for 3 days as the Japanese didn't mobilize when they declared war while the Russian Army already had a sizable amount of men in Manchuria which now are at the border reinforced by the main army that arrived a day ago.
Some would call her foolish for not exploiting this opportunity and go deep into Korea but she has other plans. She intends to humiliate the Japanese by destroying the hole Army and then going into Korea. Completely shaming them.
After a day of waiting they arrived.
Since the fortification was further away from the border the Japanese didn't see the trenches that where along the front.
"It seems the Russians didn't arrive, we can enter Manchuria without opposition and conquer this territory!" The General of the Imperial Japanese Army was a incompetent man who rose to his position by his influence and not experience. He has no qualifications to lead so many troops into battle.
This will be a rude awakening to the Japanese who thought that they can poke the bear and come out unscathed.
"Alright men cross this river quickly while the level is low!"
They started to use existing bridges and makeshift ones to cross the river.
"This won't take lo- BOOM *SPLAT*
"AAARRRGHH!" "SAVE ME!" " HELP!"
"Wha- RATATATA
The Russians came out of their trenches and started to indiscriminately shot at the oblivious Japanese
Artillery and gunfire rang out as the Russians fired without stopping as the men changed positions to reload while others keep shooting.
BOOM BOOM BOOM RATATATATA
"RELOADING TAKE MY POSITION!"
The gunners switched constantly as newly reloaded ones toke their positions and continued to fire at the helpless Japanese who's bridges collapsed from the Artillery fire and started to drown or made into human sponges from the machine guns.
The Japanese were not ready for such carnage as the ones who had yet to cross started to run away while the ones who already crossed ran back to the river to swim across to safety are were made into human fertilizer, drowned in panic or died from injuries.
"Do not retreat this is my order, obey me!"
"I sai-BOOM
The General was blown to bits as Anastasia ordered the Artillery to target high ranking officers further demoralizing the Japanese as they ran for their lives or get blown to bits themselves and get filled with holes.
In just 30 minutes over 100.000 men died, shocking the World in a brutal display of carnage and chaos. The now dead General who lead young men to their deaths was the highest shame to the Japanese government.
As the Japanese reorganized within Korea and filled their numbers with fresh men from the homeland and native Koreans who got forced to join or have their family killed, the Russians brought their own makeshift bridges and started to cross the river bringing the fight to them.
The Russian invasion of Korea began.
