Destroying My Own World

Chapter 425: The waiting game.

Everyone collapsed for no reason even Mykel and Elena couldn't detect what was happening. But Mykel didn't let Aevia do whatever she wanted, and when he wanted to use his power to kill her, his power didn't follow his command at all. Elena who saw it was confused, and then she noticed the changes in the space, something was happening and she could no longer control the situation.

"Even with the power you both possess won't be able to handle this..." Aevia staggered as she tried to stand up. "Not even me..." She added as she looked at Mykel while her body was regenerating slowly.

Mykel squinted his eyes and didn't hesitate to throw punches at Aevia who was helpless and vulnerable. He could do anything except one, and that was he couldn't kill her no matter how much power he used. Something was off and the fact the others were still unconscious made him a bit worried.

"Soon you'll understand..." Aevia chuckled as she was on the ground with Mykel on top of her. "You asked for this, and this is what you get," she smiled and was happy about the situation she was in.

When Mykel was about to punch her once more, he felt dizzy and collapsed. Elena and Aevia were also feeling the same, and then they felt like their bodies were being pulled from left to right rapidly. When the headache disappeared, Mykel and Elena were shocked when they saw another Aevia and his other selves in front of them.

Elena and her other selves were staring at each other, and they both were in the same state. Mykel and his other selves were also staring at each other while Aevia's other selves were struggling to stand up. That was when they realized Aevia had messed up the timeline and mixed them all together into one timeline.

"In the end, there's only one who can control the clock..." Aevia said as she approached her other selves. "And now, everyone in this place is in their weakest state, unlike me, my existence is always in its prime," she touched her other selves and absorbed her to become one. Aevia had finally got rid of her past and future, becoming the one and only Aevia. Thanks to that, she gained her power back and was unaffected by the clock, making her the strongest, back to her prime.

"I knew what you were trying to do, and in the end, it was all for nothing. These annoying small fries are going to meet their ends," Aevia said as she snapped her fingers and erased their existence, leaving only Mykel, Elena, and their other selves. "The past, present, and future are meaningless. The power you attained, they're gone now, making you back to where it all started," she pointed out.

Mykel knew that already and he was indeed losing all his power, making him back to a normal human being. Elena and their other selves were also back to their weakest state and to fight Aevia who was in her prime, it was impossible.

"Did you say the past, present, and future are meaningless?" Lyneth's voice could be heard from behind Mykel. "Looks like my time has finally come. I thought it would take a little longer, turns out it was as I had expected," she continued.

Mykel and Elena turned around and saw Lyneth coming out of the small pocket in the space. She landed and immediately embraced Elena from behind, wrapping her hands around Elena's neck.

"Wouldn't that mean I'm capable of doing something like this?" Lyneth snapped her fingers as she stared at Aevia.

The power that Aevia took from Mykel and Elena surged back into their bodies. Lyneth brought them back without any consequences and was capable of overpowering the clock.

"Impossible!" Aevia was in disbelief. "So it was you who manipulated the time!" She glared at Lyneth and couldn't believe a useless woman could change into the most powerful being.

"Yes, it was me," Lyneth gently caressed Elena's cheek before she stood up. "Not only I can manipulate everything, I can also do something like this," she swung her left hand at Aevia.

Aevia was pushed away and the force was too much even for her to fight against it. She was dragged on the ground and she felt a sting all over her body because of it, and she had no idea what had happened. She immediately stood up and flew toward Lyneth to kill her once and for all.

Lyneth clapped her hands and Aevia who was flying toward her suddenly got smashed and being squeezed by an unknown force. Lyneth then clenched her fist and swung it downward, smashing Aevia to the ground and crushing her whole body.

"The moment you messed up the timeline, you have forgotten there's someone who can manipulate it. Even if you're the ruler of time and space, I'm the one who controls all realms and anything beyond," Lyneth said as she walked toward Aevia.

Aevia was helpless in Lyneth's presence even in her prime she couldn't free herself from Lyneth's grasp. She didn't want to believe there was a being that stood above her, especially that being was nothing but a character that was made from a piece of paper.

"It's pointless. The moment you're in my present, your life and everything that you have is all mine to control," Lyneth said as she stood in front of Aevia who was still being crushed by an unknown force. "Your playtime is over, and there's nothing else you can do to help you get out of this situation," she pointed out as she put her foot on top of Aevia's head.

"No! No!" Aevia's eyes were glaring widely and it looked like her head would explode if she added more pressure on her head. "You're nothing! You will die in my hand!" She lifted her head and glared at Lyneth, pushing Lyneth's foot from her head.

"Is that a threat?" Lyneth raised her eyebrows as she put down her foot and then flicked her index finger up. "You really don't know what kind of situation you're in, don't you?" Lyneth squinted her eyes as she lifted Aevia's body and floated in front of her.

Aevia's limbs were crushed and exploded right in front of Lyneth, and for the first time, Aevia let out a scream of pain. Mykel and Elena who heard it got chills down their spines, and they were baffled by how strong Lyneth had become.

"I have seen everything. All the things you did to my love," Lyneth reversed Aevia's state back to her prime and then she broke Aevia's body again. "You made Elena suffer for eons, and hurt her..." She repeated the process again. "I'll break your body, your power, and lastly your mind," she continued.

Mykel and Elena could only see Aevia being tortured for a few seconds, but the truth was that Lyneth manipulated Aevia's perspective of time and space. A second in their eyes was like years for Aevia, and Lyneth didn't show a single mercy as she used all her power to torture Aevia.

In just a minute, Aevia could no longer speak as her mouth and body trembled in pain. The power that helped her regenerate her body, it backfired at her and only helped Lyneth to not waste her power on regenerating Aevia's body.

At that moment, Mykel, Elena, and their other selves couldn't believe that Lyneth had that side of her inside. They never thought Lyneth would do something like that because she had never tortured anyone in her whole life. That side of her somehow made Elena feel anxious because her mother could be heartless to someone.

"Do you think what I think?" Mykel's other selves looked at Mykel. He felt surreal when he saw his other selves standing across from him. "That we're not the ones who were supposed to defeat Aevia," he pointed out.

"We are just a distraction, or perhaps even a pawn in Lyneth's scheme," Mykel hummed as he helped Elena stand up. "I don't know how she did it since you spent more time with her. You should have noticed something," he added and checked if Elena was okay.

"I did, but she made a wall around everyone. Nobody knew what she was thinking, even Amy was unable to do anything about it," Mykel's other selves responded. "Something was off about her, and I think she only opens up with you since you're the one she's longing for," he pointed out.

Mykel could see it and how Lyneth's demeanor changed drastically where there was an enigmatic aura around her. He could tell she was holding back all her emotions for so long they were eating her from the inside. So he approached her while she was busy torturing Aevia who had already lost her mind.

"How long are you going to torture her, Lyn?" Mykel asked and stood behind Lyneth. "It's over for her. Don't overdo it," he said as he grabbed Lyneth's hand.

Lyneth stopped torturing Aevia and put Aevia inside a barrier and confined her with unknown force. She then turned around to look at Mykel, and she had forgotten the rough palm of his and his gentle touch. She couldn't help herself and immediately put herself in his embrace.

"I missed you..." Lyneth said quietly as she brushed her face against his neck. "I'm scared..." She whispered as she put her arms around Mykel's neck.

"I'm here, and I'm not going to let you go again," Mykel responded with a soft and yet serious tone. "You're mine, and will always be mine," he assured.
