Chapter 389: Rebel.
"What's this place, Mykel?" Elysande asked as she kept staring at Amaryllis who looked so dignified and gorgeous like a Goddess.
"You can say this is my origin," Mykel answered as he kept walking ahead of the others and escorted them out of the void. "It's something you won't be able to comprehend," he added.
Everyone knew that Mykel always had that enigmatic personality that made them unable to see his true intentions. But, this time they were scared or even terrified by him because they could finally see a glance of his power and existence.
Mykel stopped walking and then the void in front of him turned into a thick black smoke. The smoke was getting thinner and thinner the further they went deeper, and suddenly a bright sunlight blinded them. They were used to the darkness and the moment sunlight hit their eyes, it was painful.
"What's this?! Where are you taking us to?" Javelin was in disbelief when she saw the damage that Elena had inflicted.
"Is it really that bad for you to not recognize your own planet?" Mykel asked back as he looked at the crater that covered half of Earth.
They looked at the flattened ground and the crater thoroughly until they saw familiar banners and buildings buried underneath. They were petrified and couldn't believe that the world they lived in had turned into a flattened wasteland. Read exclusive content at My Virtual Library Empire
"Mykel, what's actually happening right now? We were in the main hall to see that woman who barged into the palace. But why is suddenly we are in this dark place and the Earth is completely destroyed?" Elysande looked at Mykel and demanded an answer.
"Did the eldest sister come to our world? But you said that she's going to wait for you and not create havoc here?" Aston furrowed his eyebrows and stared at Mykel.
Everyone looked at Aston and was confused by what he meant, and the moment he realized he had just spilled the secret, he couldn't do anything but accept what he had done wrong. They then looked at Mykel and wanted some explanation about what Aston meant by that.
"Is that true? What's the meaning of this Mykel?" Elestria looked at Mykel in disbelief.
"It's not her," Mykel answered simply. "This is my daughter's doing," he added.
Elestria and Elysande raised their eyebrows after they found out the woman who made the entrance to the palace was Mykel's daughter. The others were confused as to what he meant by that, and what his daughter looked like. But before they could ask, Mykel came out of the void with Amaryllis.
"Can you do it?" Mykel looked at Amaryllis.
"Not a problem," Amaryllis answered as she walked to the front.
Everyone looked at Amaryllis and wondered what she was planning to do until she released a shockwave. They couldn't see anything, but they could feel something expanding like an invisible barrier. She then suddenly flew high into the sky and flicked her left hand at the center of the crater.
Amaryllis fixed the damage by putting the crumbled planet back in its place like doing a puzzle. She made it look so easy and everything was rebuilt in just a matter of a second, putting all the buildings back to their original condition. She then lifted all the dead bodies that were buried in the ground, some were no longer recognizable, and some were chunks of meat. She clapped her hands and healed their bodies until they became whole again.
She looked up high into the sky and reached out her hand at it as if she was trying to grasp on something. When she pulled her hand down, all the bodies started moving again as if they were reborn. She then put their bodies back in the streets and woke them all up at the same time.
Elestria and the others were in disbelief when Amaryllis did all that like it was nothing. They looked at her as if she was the Goddess that created this world, but the fact she wasn't only brought more questions to her existence.
"This world looks like something that we used to have. Perhaps their memories were still intact when they built this universe," Amaryllis landed right next to Mykel. "But this world looks so much simpler than yours, and this is just a smaller scale than what we used to have," she added.
"This world was built in a short span of time. It's not a surprise that this world is so simple, and how everything is still freshly new," Mykel nodded his head in agreement.
"Who are you?" Elestria looked at Mykel with everything that she knew about Mykel slowly getting erased because she didn't believe everything he had done was his true self.
"I used to be a being that devoured and destroyed all kinds of worlds and realities," Mykel answered without looking back at Elestria. "Of course, that wasn't my true nature. I was programmed that way by the one and only omnipotent being. So what I'm doing right now is something you can say an act of rebel," he added.
Mykel looked up and wondered what was going on on the other side.
(At the Aevia's world)
Luciel clashed her sword and she couldn't believe there was anyone that could stop her full power. A place she didn't know, and why she was ordered to fight an unknown woman in front of her.
"What kind of power you're using there..." Luciel kept pushing her sword, but her sword wouldn't budge and stayed in that position. "This is the first time I have seen this kind of force," she gritted her teeth and looked at the woman in front of her who looked fragile and yet so strong.
"This power isn't mine. It was bestowed by someone that I love," The woman answered so calmly. "He gave me half of his power just so I can live a happy life. Although I took it for granted, now it's time for me to use it to get his life back," she added and pushed the black sword in her hand, pushing Luciel away from her.
Luciel looked at her trembling hands after she got pushed and couldn't even resist. She realized that she couldn't win with only brute strength, and so she glanced around to find the place that Aevia mentioned to her earlier.
"Mykel was it?" Luciel asked to buy some time. "And you seemed to know me as well," she pointed out.
"Of course, I know you well," The woman answered as she looked at Luciel. "You're my favorite character," she added as she readied her stance. "And I know what you're trying to do, but I won't let you get what you want," she pointed out and released the void from underneath her feet, devouring the area around her and slowly spreading.
Luciel didn't have a choice but to hurry herself to find it, but the woman was already in front of her. She swung her sword at the woman but the woman disappeared and reappeared behind her. She knew that the woman was planning to cut her wing, but she used her power and predict the possible future until she managed to get away from the woman.
The woman was surprised that her movements were predicted by Luciel, but that didn't bother her because she hadn't used all the power within her yet. When she used a bit more of her power, that was when Luciel's ability to predict the future became useless because she would lose her wing no matter what.
The moment Luciel lost her wing after the woman cut it off, she lost almost half of her power. All the power that she devoured and possessed had gone to waste, unable to be used. She hated the fact that her wing was the source of her power, just like her other sisters, wings that made them powerful and weak at the same time.
"It's over..." The woman said as she put the tip of the blade on Luciel's neck. "I'm not going to kill you nor I'm your enemy as I said earlier. You're one of us," she pointed out as she looked at Luciel with a concerned look on her face.
"What do you mean one of you? I don't know who you are, and what do you mean when you said that I'm your favorite character?" Luciel stared back at the woman.
"You were created by me and Mykel. You were with him from your previous life, someone that stand on the top of the others, just like you are right now. But, a lot of things happened, everyone was trying to survive the war between Mykel and a being that ruled out the world," The woman answered. "He achieved the impossible, but who would have thought the one behind everything was that woman, the woman that shackled him," she continued.
"Then why does it have anything to do with me?" Luciel asked.
"Because you died to save Mykel. You were devoured by his power and no longer exist, but she brought you back, used you so Mykel would obey her words. He came to that world with one reason, and that's to get you back and to save all of you," The woman explained.
Luciel immediately clicked with the woman's story and understood why Mykel was collecting everyone's life essence. She finally knew the reason why Mykel wanted to help her, and it made sense why Mykel was cold toward that omnipotent being. She then wondered what kind of life she had before she got reincarnated, and how it felt to fight in a real war.
"I wouldn't be able to get your life essence because I don't have that power. Only Mykel could do it, and I'm not telling you to die, but what I want is for you to join our side," The woman said as she looked around her and watched the void cover the endless of whiteness world slowly. "What do you say?" she asked as she reached out her hand at Luciel.
"I have the tendency to be on top, to convince myself to work for someone else, that's not something I want," Luciel scoffed as she looked down. "But, I would rather have my freedom than be shackled by that woman," she looked up at the woman and grabbed her hand.
"You don't have to worry about that. Mykel wouldn't take you in if you're weaklings. He never let those follow him to be his hands and feet, he wants them to thrive, even if it means to surpass him," The woman responded as she helped Luciel stand up.
Luciel watched as the woman took the wing that she had cut off and then offered it to her.
"You haven't told me your name," Luciel pointed out as she put her wing back.
"Sasha," Sasha smiled happily as she looked at Luciel and never thought she could see her in person from up close.
