Chapter 288: The real one.
Elena was flying away and then suddenly she groaned with her arms that started to tremble. Sasha looked at Elena and she could see that Elena was furious, sad, and frustrated. She didn't know what had happened, but seeing Elena's expression, it seemed something bad had happened.
"What's the matter?" Sasha asked with a worried expression.
"Amy is dead..." Elena answered as she tried to calm herself down. "She managed to get important information about Mykel and the entity inside him before she died. She said that her job is done and she has no regret," she continued as she held her tears.
"I'm sorry to hear that, and I know that you don't want to waste your time grieving over her, but sometimes it's okay to just let them sink in even for just a moment," Sasha said as she put her hand on Elena's right cheek.
Elena looked down as Sasha hugged Elena so tightly to comfort her and let her shoulder be covered in Elena's tears. It didn't take a minute until Elena calmed herself down and got back up since she didn't want to mop over it too long.
They both were getting closer to the eerie presence, and Elena started to understand why Sasha found it eerie. She could feel it as well, a presence that was hard to explain because it was neither strong, ominous, or weak. They both wondered what that presence was, and why it felt that way.
Before they could get to where the eerie presence was, Elena stopped and then turned around because she felt like a titanic eye was staring at her. She didn't know where it came from, but that was quite disturbing and a bit terrifying. She couldn't tell where it came from, and the fact that Mykel didn't care about the clone she created only made her anxious.
"We can't just stay here, we need to keep moving," Sasha said.
"Didn't you feel that earlier?" Elena asked.
"No, I don't feel anything. What's wrong? Did you feel anything before?" Sasha asked with her eyebrows furrowed and tried to check the surroundings to see if she missed it. But no matter how thoroughly she looked around, she didn't feel anything off about the abyss.
"I don't know. I just felt like someone was staring at us back there," Elena answered as she shook her head. "Let's just wait here for a moment because right now, my clone has found The Lord. They're on their way here," she pointed out.
Sasha didn't like the idea of staying in the middle of nothingness, but it would be better to have more people than just the two of them. She still didn't know what to do when she met The Lord since she was displeased and angry at him.
"You haven't told me about what Amaryllis found about Mykel," Sasha looked at Elena.
Elena explained to Sasha the fact the entity had separated himself from Mykel's soul. She told her that Mykel was hidden deep under, and that convinced both of them that the presence that they felt at that moment could be Mykel's. Although they were happy if it was the truth, that also meant the entity would be there as well to stop them.
"Not only that, the homunculi that he devoured had become a clog, making him unable to use his power completely," Elena pointed out. "Even after her death, she's still trying to bring this thing with her," she continued and smiled pitifully.
"I don't know much about her, but I can see that Amaryllis is someone important in your life," Sasha responded.
"No, everyone is important to me, but Amy was the only one left that survived. Knowing that I don't have anyone else but myself right now is bothering me a lot," Elena said with her eyes closed. "It doesn't even matter anymore now. Everyone knew that I would be the only one who could survive, so they really have high hopes for me," she continued and smiled weakly.
"Don't let their death be in vain, and you're not alone now. I know that I'm not like them because they were the ones you grew up with. You have achieved a lot of things together, but as long as there's someone who cares about you and wants you to be alright, you will be fine," Sasha said as she held Elena's wrist and tried to comfort her.
Elena only smiled and nodded her head.
Not long after that, a light could be seen in the far distance, like a bright dot in the sky at night. That light was millions of lightyears away, but that didn't take a minute for them to see The Lord and Elena's clone next to him, protecting him from any threat.
The moment The Lord arrived, Elena's clone went inside Elena's body and took the whole stream of life energy back to her. She felt more alive than ever, and she realized how she took things for granted when she had those massive energies inside her body. She then realized how awkward it was for Sasha and The Lord to see each other, and the fact that Sasha showed hostility toward him made Elena realize Sasha was on the same page as her.
"It doesn't matter which version he is, but you still can't help but hate him, right?" Elena asked with a smirk as she stared at Sasha. "Don't worry. I'm not going to let him use you anymore because right now he's the weakest compared to both of us," she pointed out.
"I don't mind if my fate is to be with Mykel and it was a beautiful life, but he put me in a hellish life, killed me, and put me in hell, let myself be used by both him and Lucifer. The Lord is kind and merciful, they said. Those two are the last things I experienced from him," Sasha said and stared at the light in front of her.
"We will discuss it later. Let's focus on why we are here," Elena said with a serious expression as she felt the eerie presence become unnerving.
Sasha hummed and then the three of them flew toward it, and they noticed the abyss had been so passive and didn't attack them at all even though Sasha didn't embrace both Elena and The Lord. It felt like they were invited and welcomed by the abyss, that was why they were safe, but that only made it more suspicious.
After they traveled for hours, they saw something vast, a platform that they could walk on. At first, they hesitated to touch their feet on that platform because it looked dangerous with the glowing dark purple light that lurked underneath it. Sasha then decided to be the first one to set her foot on it, and nothing happened to her.
Elena and The Lord followed her steps and looked at the vast flat platform, and for some reason, they felt like being watched from all over but they couldn't find where they were actually coming from. They kept walking and walking as the thick pitch-black mist accompanied their path.
They didn't know how far they had walked, but it felt like they had been walking for a minute, but the distance that they traveled was way more than that. They had traveled hundreds of miles, and that was when The Lord realized something. The Lord took a step to the side and that was when he was adrift from the others, and when he took a step back, he came back to Elena and Sasha's side.
"We are currently at the center, and we are at the singularity," The Lord pointed out. "We can walk forever and we won't be able to find what we are looking for. So follow my steps," he added.
Elena and Sasha followed The Lord and suddenly before they realized it, they had entered a massive hall with titanic crystals with the same purple color as the ground. They were overwhelmed by a presence, the same eerie presence that had been bothering them. The Lord then stopped and it made Elena and Sasha wonder what had happened until they saw stairs and a throne in the middle.
The three of them looked up and saw Mykel sitting on the throne, on his own with his left cheek resting on his left fist. His eyes were closed, but the moment he opened his eyes, all of them collapsed and lost their strength. His eyes were glowing and that was when the three of them felt like the whole world was crushing down on their heads.
"What are you two doing down here?" Mykel asked quietly but his voice was clear as day.
"Don't pretend to be him," Elena glared at Mykel.
"What are you talking about?" Mykel's voice could be heard right next to her. "I'm here, and that's your father," he pointed out.
Elena, Sasha, and The Lord looked to their left and saw the abyss in a human form standing next to them. They then looked at the person sitting on the throne, and he looked disappointed and concerned when his eyes met with Elena's.
"Mykel? Is that really you?" Elena asked.

"Yes, this is the real me you're looking for," Mykel smiled gently.
