Denial, Blood of The Fae

A short chapter involving Christmas and Raven getting his much needed fix of mental health repair.

Raven smiled slightly to himself as he appreciated his finished assignments. It was winter break at Hogwarts, and some students had returned home. Some stayed at Hogwarts.

Almost entirely all of Slytherin had run home though, even the racist pricks enjoyed their Yuletide time.

Raven could understand though, it was basically Christmas, but more traditional.

Personally he hated it. Everyone was all happy to gather around, giving presents, eating holiday food, singing songs. All of that, it just made him mad thinking about it.

Was it fair he was projecting his hatred for the seasonal time onto others because of his shitty life? Yes. Did he care? Not really.

Honestly, the only thing he really appreciated this Christmas, was the fact that the twins had stayed this year. Apparently this year his parents were taking the two younger siblings to visit the older siblings in Romania. To visit their older brother's job of working as a dragon tamer.

He ignored the way his heartbeat sped up for a moment at the thought of dragons, they were just so cool after all.

"Inanis come join us for the snowball fight!" A voice called out, and Raven glanced up to see a second year smiling and he shrugged, he would always enjoy smacking people in the face with snowballs.

"Alright, let me get my coat, Vole." Raven called out as he walked to his room and grabbed his snow coat.

Personally he hated robes and only wore them when needed. Which was basically only at the opening and closing feast, or any possible events that happen requiring said robes to be worn.

"Ha!" Raven ducked behind the snow fort his team had built up, no magic, all hands and shovels. Peeking up he quickly chucked a snowball and directly landed a hit to the face of a third year Gryffindor.

"Ha!" He called out before ducking a few snowballs thrown back in revenge.

"Geronimo!" A set of twin voices called out, and Raven laughed as he saw the absolute fucking unit of a snowball flying towards them all. Thing was bigger than Hagrid in all ways by 3 times.

"Hahahahaha!" He laughed and everyone joined in as they dug themselves out of the snow pile they were all in.

A few more days of playing in the snow and studying later, Raven had found himself grouchily sitting at the single giant table in the great hall, so few students made it easier to just have one table.

Izzy was riding on his shoulder purring as she rubbed her cheek against his. He had noticed his cat would randomly disappear for a while, but he shrugged it off, cats did that. Would vanish and reappear whenever they wanted.

"Raven, come with us real quick, we got something we want to show you!" The twins said as they both grabbed him by an arm and dragged him off, Izzy hopping onto his head for ease of access as her master was dragged about.

Raven grumbled to himself, but allowed it.

Eventually they dragged him into the Gryffindor common room and shoved a decent size present wrapped box into his hands, and then pushed him onto a couch.

"Open it!" They said in sync, blinking a little, and perhaps to hide any possible tears, he opened it and inside he saw a couple items.

A gnarly looking orange sweater with a R in black. Hand knitted. A bunch of candy, specifically sucker candy with a stick on them. A large thick book that was no doubt pricey. Finally there was a wrapped up pie.

"Happy Christmas Raven!" Both twins cheered.

Quickly wiping a tear away, while glaring at them to dare to say something about it, he reached in and put on the sweater and then picked up the book.

"How the hell did you two buy this!? It's worth like 150 galleons." Raven asked shocked as he read the title of it.

"We sold some of our blood. Fresh dead apostle blood, plus the fact we're still virgins, you don't hear much about that. So it sold for a pretty Knut." One twin said grinning.

"Thank you." Raven said softly and both twins grinned, but didn't say anything back. Afterwards he pulled out the pie and the three started feasting on it. Izzy slept constantly on his lap meanwhile.

Arriving back in his dorm room, Raven found three boxes on his bed. Surprised and cautious, he used his magic to open them and found they were presents.

Inside was a book on all species in the mythological world. A very expensive gift, but while he was unsure why the headmaster sent him it, he still appreciated it nonetheless.

Inside was a silver cross earring, a book on Japanese food, and a piece of metal and a blue jewel. Plus another bag of sucker candy.

Shrugging it off, he just smiled and took a sucker out, after casting a diagnostic charm on them all, and put it in his mouth as he stored everything away.

Perhaps all these presents were making him sentimental, but for the first time in a long time during this day, he fell asleep with a smile.

Basically a fluff chapter for Raven. He needs the fluff. My boy been suffering already.

Anyway, I've been thinking, I'll go for fifteen chapters of Year 1, this is all basically just filler lol. The more interesting stuff will probably start at Year 2 for Raven, or perhaps the summer before Year 2.

Also I've decided after every year written, I'll be doing a grammer fixing on each whole year, that way everything runs better and more smoothly.

Also want to add, this year is so slow being written because I'm winging it and just making chapters up, while also not trying to make them useless and not useful, don't want just pure filler after all lol.

Anyway, ima go now, gotta finish my stuff at work, slow day and I pushed things off till later tonight to do.
