Denial, Blood of The Fae

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: A Strange Encounter

Raven smiled as he wrote in his notes while in magical theory. It was an interesting class, even if he had studied ahead, knowledge was only so much in the way of actual experience, which their teacher actually had.

The teacher, Mr. T as he's taken to calling him, was an older man who enjoyed his subject and had proper experience in it.

If he was honest, he couldn't wait to graduate and explore the world, learning about a ton of magical theory. Lost spells. Lost treasure. Sleeping with exotic females!

Ok, perhaps his thoughts weren't as pure, as some would say, but he didn't care, he was a hormonal teen who knows what he wants.

"Mr. Inanis, why does a mage's core not have magical veins in the body?" Mr. T liked randomly asking people questions, even if he knew they were paying attention. It could even be about something they learnt in a previous lesson.

"Because while a wizards core has magical veins to channel the magic directly to a focus point, a mage's body doesn't due to their unique style of casting, so the core's energy is directly drained into the spell casting." Raven said and Mr. T nodded approvingly.

"Correct, full credit." Raven wouldn't turn down extra credit points. More superiority over his fellow year mates. He was competitive.

Raven hummed softly as he idly stirred his potion in potions class.

"Five stirs to the right." The professor called out to a certain student, talking about you, Dug.

Raven finished his final turn and let the potion sit for three more minutes on the heat, before turning it off and pouring it into some provided potion vials.

"You're all dismissed." The potions Professor said once he saw they were all done.

After everyone left, Raven finished idly leaving his potions, while putting a few of his own vials into his bag, then heading up to the professor to turn his in.

"Professor, say if someone were to do only four stirs, or four and a half stirs, perhaps even six stirs, how does it affect the potion? Especially since it's in the end stages of brewing." Raven asked curiously. He'd like to think he saw a glimmer of respect, or perhaps just understanding in those eyes.

"Its effect will be diluted. A potion that could last for 3 hours, will last for only 2 hours. It's also possible it just makes the potion not work, have unintended effects, or just become poison due to the used materials." The professor explained.

"For example, in my third year class, a student accidentally added a fourth stir to a healing potion, and it caused the potion to not heal, but instead worsen the effects of the injury. So that's why you must be exact and precise in potions. Now move along Mr. Inanis, I believe you still have History." Professor Snape said and Raven bowed his head in thanks as he walked off writing in a notebook.

"Perhaps there is some talent for potions in those dunderheads." Snape said as he held up a perfect boils cure potion set. "These can go to Poppy for use." He added as he waved his wand and changed the naming on them to say the type of potion, instead of his students name.

Raven woke up with a groan and noted it was still late in the night, his ever fluffy cat gone for the night, nothing to be concerned about, but he decided to take a walk.

Throwing on some clothes, and his jacket, he headed out and through the common room.

Eventually he walked through the halls of the castle, the occasional cat he passed meowed at him in greeting or scare as he surprised them by coming around a corner.

"I don't understand why you refuse. I'm a pureblood and you're a filthy commoner. You should be glad to serve me." A voice said and Raven peaked around the corner and saw a pair of prefects standing near a window.

"I told you already, I'm not interested in you, now let's finish patrol already, I'm tired." A female voice responded to the male voice, annoyance in her tone.

"I told you-" he placed his hand on her shoulder roughly, but suddenly a pain was felt between his eyes as a bunch of boils grew on it.

"Don't. Ever. Touch. Me. Again." The girl snapped on him, sick of him trying to get in her pants, she wasn't even straight!

"Finish patrol yourself, I'm going to bed. If you try this again, I will make you suffer." She finished menacingly as she huffed and speed walked off.

Raven smiled as he hid behind a armor statue and waited a few minutes before walking around again.

As he went around a corner, he saw a beautiful woman with curly silvery-white hair and gleaming red eyes. A pair of shorts and a black shirt on. Weirdly enough, bare foot.

However the moment she seemed to notice him, she vanished around a corner and he quickly moved to that corner and didn't see her.

He shrugged it off, and was probably a ghost. They were extra active at this time of the night, drawing power from the night time shadows and darkness.

Raven eventually returned to his room and found Izzy asleep on his pillow. She seemed to wake up and meow in greeting as she jumped into his side and fell back to sleep. He soon joined her in sleep.

Another short chapter, but I liked it. I hope you enjoyed.

-Voidy, The Tired and Annoyed Insomniac

P.S. Can I just say I fucking hate ER's. I took my mom to one a few days ago, stomach pains, roughly. She was groaning and crying in pain. Like the only person crying out in pain, and they didn't even bother giving her pain meds while we sat in the waiting room for over an hour.

An then we went in the back finally and they had a TON of empty rooms, like wtf. She had to have her appendix removed, and said it could have been dangerous if left alone for a couple more hours, like who's fucking fault is that if you don't goddamn let us in when you have the availablity and nurses/doctord available. Like hell, they all were just chatting away. What fucking dicks.

Sorry for ranting, just annoyed, till next time!
