Denial, Blood of The Fae

Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Day of Shadow Demons

Albus Dumbledore could only stare in mute horror at the transformation before him. He was sure Minerva beside him felt the same.

"Albus, what happened to him?" Albus wished he knew, and he said as much.

"I don't know Minerva. The transformation was going well, but then this happened. He was consumed by shadows before the transformation happened." Albus pondered as he slowly raised his wand up.

"The wards tell me that this is Raven. So he is somewhere inside there. So that means something either went wrong with the Animagus transformation, or this is something brought up due to his half nonhuman nature." Albus concluded as he slowly grabbed his wand, prepairing his magic for a possibly battle.

How he wished the castle wasn't nearby. All the students in danger unknowingly.

"Grrrrr." The malevolent form of his student began growling softly as it turned to stare at them. It raised its hand, and Albus on instinct grabbed Minerva and apperated away.

Looking at where they were, he could see shadow spikes formed underneath where they just were.

"Shadow magic. Pure and raw." Albus muttered as he made a piece of Minerva's dress a portkey timed to go off in three seconds.

"Call Lorelei. I fear she might be our only hope." Albus ordered and Minerva vanished.

"Graw?"

"So you are aware to some degree then?" Albus pondered as his form shifted slightly to a more defensive one as he prayed Minerva got to Lorelei soon.

"RARRRR!"

It roared and Albus only had a moment to raise a earth wall and transfiguration it into lions which chomped on it, but that did almost nothing beside being a minor annoyance as the lions were tossed away and returned to stone.

"Not good." Albus said as he apperated again to get away, but he found its fearsome face staring at him and he could only look on in horror. His old bones unable to move in time to react to it.

Luckily for him, a chain wrapped around its neck and pulled it backwards, and Albus took a huge gulp of air he wasn't aware he was holding back.

He had managed to just transfigure the former lions turned to stone and used them alongside another spell to use the needed force to yoink it back.

"Ok, it prevented me from apperating, but how?" Albus mused before looking around realizing shadows were carving runes into the field.

"No." He said in horror. The realization it had access to his students memories. That was not good. It knew how to effectively combat him, and eventually Lorelei, if he lasted long enough.

"No. Now's not the time to lose focus and give up Albus. You can handle this." He muttered as the elder wand pulsed in his hand as he prepared himself.

He would draw out as much power as he could safely handle from the wand.

"Death, guide my hands to victory please." Albus prayed before he steeled himself. A moment later had dozens of potent and powerful spells fired off, but the creature having just broken out of the chains roared and looked at him as it moved its wings forward and took every spell.

Albus didn't let up though, the next instant had tons of pointed metal spikes carved with a couple runes on them firing forward to impale the creature.

The next moment shadows rose up and stopped most of them, and the remaining few didn't even do more then cause a very minor scratch at best, and Albus worried it might just be left over dust.

He didn't stop there though, he took a deep breath and waved his wand as the whole field seemed to come alive. Giant earth hands and tentacles forming. The tentacles being broken off by the hands and forming swords and spears which they used to attack the creature who only let out a minor grunt as it waved its arm and broke down the constructs.

"Magnus Pulsus!" Albus cried out the name of a spell, and it formed a glowing purple ball at the tip of his wand which fired forward and the creature seemed to stare at it. As if amused by his futile attempts, but Albus only let a small smile show.

Suddenly it moved its wings to react, but it was to late as the ball slammed into its chest and sent it flying into the forest.

Albus could hear it roaring furiously in the distance. He was quite pleased with himself. However suddenly in a strong gust of wind it appeared roaring furiously as the shadows of the falling sun moved forward, closer and closer to disappearing, charged forward, Albus casted a different spell this time.

"Magna Lux." He called out softly as a great light formed momentarily and consumed the shadows erasing them before the light vanished.

"Not happy?" Albus noted as its tail smacked into the ground hard carving a deep hole. "Try this one. Magna Flamma." From this tip of his wand brilliant white flames shot forward and the creature seemed to have learned as it flew away from the direction of the flames, but they just moved up and crashed into it.

"RAGH!" It roared out in pain as the flames licked at its body. After all, holy flames were very much a threat to darker beings.

However suddenly pure black energy covered its body and the flames were extinguished. Its form seemed to shrink down before slightly reverting.

It now looked like Raven, but retained the wings, tail and broken horns it had. Its hands and feet seemed to retain their demonic form. Its hair black and eyes red. It's clothing only being ripped up black pants and armor bands sitting snug.

"The hUmAn iS indeEd Impressive." It spoke in a voice so similar to Raven, but it also had the voices of others mixed in like an echo effect.

"We are legion. The shadow demon. We shall devour all." It spoke before it reached into its rough pants and pulled out the wand of Raven which seemed to be covered in shadows.

"It fought us, however like all beings, it had no chance in defeating us." They spoke as they caressed the wand. Albus was sure if he could hear wands like Garrick, he'd hear it screaming.

Suddenly Albus didn't feel so confident in holding it off. It seemed much more aware now. The fact it was using a wand, if it had the memories and skill of Raven now, he wasn't confident.

For all the confidence and ego of the teen, it wasn't unfounded. The teen was extremly skilled, and Albus was exhausted and running low on magic. Using the great seires spells was exhausting.

Suddenly a burst of energy left the elder wand and Albus felt twenty years younger. He smiled down at it.

"I supposed I must hold on a little longer." He spoke before he raised his wand properly.

"Just because you reversed your age, doesn't mean you can defeat us." Legion spoke softly before it pointed the corrupted wand forward and started firing spell after spell.

Albus with much more ease then earlier started deflecting spell after spell, shielding when needed, and countering certain spells.

Albus soon found himself in a spell clash.

"Not bad mortal, however unlike us, you do not have infinite energy." Legion spoke as it started adding more energy.

Albus chuckled before he broke the lock and dodged to the side and fired off ten high grade blasting charms at once.

Its wings blocked the spells, but Albus merely used that opportunity to once more create chains. A lot of chains that glowed with black energy. Something unexpected to Albus, but he shrugged it off and had them all wrap around Legion and pull it to the ground.

"You think these chains can hold me old man!?" It demanded angrily and Albus only raised his wand again and started firing spell after spell. However it only laughed once they landed. Albus noted its voice had lost that deep edge to it finally.

"Purification spells, hahaha, we're beyond-" It stopped laughing and went wide eye. "What did you do!? Our connection! It's gone! Why must you and the original constantly push against us!?" It demanded and Albus raised an eyebrow.

"So that means my dear student is somewhere inside of you, that means I only need to subdue you so we can get him back." Albus said pleased as he went to fire another spell, but the chains broke.

"We won't let you!" It yelled out as the edge of its voice returned. "Just try and-!" It was gone again, and Albus went to fire off another few dozen spells, but suddenly shadows restrained him, one pierce his foot.

He grunted in pain as he tried to move. He needed more time! A simple disarming spell hit his hand sending the elder wand flying out his hand.

"No more crap. We refuse to lose to some old man." It growled as it examined the wand before it started shaking. "What… what are you!?" It demanded in horror as it stared at the wand which turned into darkness and seemed to go inside of Legion who screamed in pain as they fell to their knees.

Albus breathed a sigh of relief as the shadows holding him broke apart. He himself fell to his knees, the energy he felt coursing through him gone, but he still felt spry again.

"The elder wand is lost to me, but it seems it still only recognizes Raven as its true wielder, so it fights back." Albus noted pleased that this creature wouldn't wield the wand of death.

Suddenly in a flame, Lorelei appeared with Fawkes who flamed away to finish his other task alongside Minerva.

"Albus." She said seriously as she glanced at the form of her student and a large frown formed on her face.

"Lorelei. Its formed has changed to this one, losing its more monstrous form. It has the skills and abilities of Raven, but doesn't seem to possess his true magic, thankfully. However everything else is in its repertoire. Spells, magecraft and all. It identities as Legion. It's body is extremely durable, especially its wings, greatly magic resistant." Albus explained and Lorelei nodded her head as she grabbed her whip and stood at the ready.

"I understand. Go finish whatever you are planning to fix him, I shall stall for as long as needed." Lorelei stated confidently.

"Right. We will need only a bit longer to finish the ritual of sanity." Albus spoke as Fawkes appeared and took him away as well.

"So you think you can stop us?" Legion spoke as it glanced up at Lorelei, the pain finally gone as it rubbed its chest to relieve the pain.

"No. I know I can." Lorelei actually believed this. Without his true magic to enhance himself, Raven's skill set was much smaller as he relied on his permanent creations to assist in his casting.

"Then you are a fool. We are unbeatable. Even fighting against the original, having our connection severed, we are still stronger." It spoke and Lorelei only flicked her whip with such strength and power the demonic being was hit hard as it got sent off the ground and landed on its back.

"Worry about yourself demon. With me here, this will be a lot harder." Lorelei said as her whip started glowing.

"It's one fool after another!" Legion growled as the shadows around it grew large and formed giant spikes to impale Lorelei who merely raised an eyebrow and fired off a large blast fire that made a giant flame the size of a five story building.

Her whip flew into action flying through the flames and pulling the demon into the flames and slammed it into the ground a moment afterwards. Lorelei then pulled it forward and landed a stunning kick to the face before it could react.

"I am no normal foe." She said as a small smile formed and she started moving, landing blow after blow on Legion who couldn't react at all, attack after attack landing.

"You are nothing compared to my student. Just one attack and he would have already started returning attacks. You are a pale copy of him attempting to be more. Learn your place filth." Loreli said as she sent her glowing whip forward and pulled the demon forward and landed a solid hard punch, sending it flying into a stand which fell apart and onto it.

"Hmph. Demonic trash. It could never be better then him." Lorelei snorted as she sent a blast of fire forward that consumed the rubble. An idle flick of her whip sent lose pieces of rocks flying forward to it. Crushing the demon as it tried to climb out the flames.

"CAN YOU ALL JUST STOP IT!?" Legion demanded angrily and Lorelei almost snorted, but that was unladylike, so she didn't. It was below someone of her class.

"Trash like you doesn't deserved it." She said and appeared before it as she landed a devastating kick to its head sending it flying. It landed and just laid there on its back.

Some shadows seemed to try and raised to attack her as she moved closer, but Lorelei only snorted as her whip glowed with white flames and she broke the shadow constructs.

Another flick of her whip had the demon detained. Its arm and legs tied in such a way it couldn't try to use its tail and claws to cut itself free.

"Lorelei we are ready to- oh you already detained it." Albus spoke as he arrived a minute later with Fawkes.

"Yes, but we must hurry, I fear it won't be restrained for long. It was getting stronger with every hit I landed. Each one doing less damage. I would have eventually run out of strength against it." Lorelei said and Albus nodded seriously before he grabbed Lorelei's arm and apperated away as Fawkes flamed away the demon.
