Denial, Blood of The Fae

Chapter 29: Chapter 29: Ravens Trying Times and Happy Discovery

This will probably be another short chapter. I promise by Chapter 31, things will get properly interesting again. An of proper length as well.

Raven sighed in annoyance. It had been a week since he had stuck the mandrake leaf in his mouth. Its been a struggle.

Eating was a massive issue. He had to eat very slowly, which sucked due to the amount of food he required to be full.

(Pendragon stomach coming in not clutch)

He also had to practice speaking properly with it in his mouth, thankfully he's back to normal speaking again. He also took this time to start binge reading and using the mandrake leaf as an excuse to not talk as much.

Madam Pince, the Librain had banned him after he finished reading 58 books in two hours. He was only 3 away from beating his record of sixty in two hours.

"Fucking moron." Raven mumbled as he walked out of his so called defense call. Really, he had to wonder if Albus was in Professor Snape's fumes again while hiring the man.

The potions master could brew a mean potion, if you know what he means.

"We agree. The man can't even see his own shadow. Without jumping in fright." The twins spoke, also equally annoyed. It seemed this year their defense lessons were going to be shit, but luckily for them, they had Professor Raven.

"Oh mighty one, please teach us." They said after a moment while grinning at each other. Truly, the twins were an amusing duo.

"Oh what the hell, I'm already teaching Rose, I can teach you two as well. Meet me on the 6th floor, I'll show you where I was teaching her. Saturday and Sunday, 2-5pm." Raven said as he departed for his self studies, aka he experimented with runes more.

The twins meanwhile also decided to go do what they did in their free time, prank preparation.

"What do you mean I have to do a half motion and then point my wand? I've just been pointing and casting my charms for a while." Raven said to his short charms Professor.

"Oh? That's very impressive Mr. Inanis, please do stay after class if you can, I'd love to discuss this with you more." Filius said grinning as he began moving onto other students.

Eventually it was just the student and Professor in the class.

"Mr. Inanis, have you ever considered joining the dueling tournament for wizards?" Filius asked curiously.

"I have, but minimum age is 16, and I won't be that old till next school year. Literally. My birthday is the last day of summer break." Raven said smiling, though his twitching eyebrow said how annoyed he was.

"I see, so perhaps I shall see you participating the following summer then?" The man asked and Raven grinned.

"Just try and stop me Professor." Raven said viciously.

"Good. How would you like private tutoring in charms?" The tiny man asked smiling. He may not participate anymore due to his age and former injury in his right arm that was cursed a few years ago, but that doesn't mean he can't train someone to take his place as champion again.

"I'd love to Professor, shall we start next week? 7-9pm?" Raven asked as Filius nodded in agreement as Raven left to head to dinner. He wanted some food in his stomach for when astrology rolled around tonight.

Raven grinned as he stared at the glowing blue gem, it was in the shape of a sphere. About 3ft by 3ft in size. Covered in runes carefully etched into it. Each one carefully planned out in advance.

He was taking inspiration from the old man of the jewels and Tohsaka family magecraft. Storing prana in the jewel, but he intended to allow for it to absorb ambient mana on its own.

For now he was planning to see what its limit was before it couldn't hold anymore. So far he's dumped his total capacity of mana into it. Not a sign of being full yet.

Though he noted how annoyingly it was to actually feel magically exhausted. A rare experience for him when not training with Lori.

"Hm, test number 38, success. Future study to be conducted and tested at a later time." Raven noted in his notebook as he shrunk and stored the gem into his bag.

"I guess that's a wrap for now. Hmm, maybe I can find a way to link multiple of them together using a construct of new new metal? Yes, that's a good idea. The gem is to big for a staff though, maybe I can make a tower filled with them?" He mused out loud as a grin appeared on his face as he thought about the future and the styles of creations he could make use of now that Project Damocles was a success, probably.

His cackles filled the room, before he stopped and groaned as he forced his tongue to hold the almost fallen mandrake in place, before his eyebrow twitched as an idea came to him, it would feel weird, but perhaps because it was a natural thing, it would work.

Using his metamorph powers, he caused a small line of his gums to grow and form a sort of line over the leaf holding it in place so he didn't have to. It was all natural after all, and metamorph changing didn't take any magic to change his form.

"Ha, it worked!" Raven cheered as he noted it couldn't move.
