Demon Slayer Virgil [Isekai One Piece]

Chapter 5: A Chance Encounter with the Navy

Zavia sheathed the Yamato at his waist, and casually plucked some wild fruits from a nearby short bush.

"Hmm, I've pretty much explored this whole island, the center is a volcano, nothing too special, although the scale is large, it can't be used as a base. As expected, I can only go out to sea?"

Wandering in this forest, Zavia felt a little troubled. What should he do now? For someone like him, this island posed no issues for survival. After the two battles, he confirmed he should currently be in the first half of Paradise – Grand Line.

Although the animals here were large and quite ferocious, compared to what he had seen in his previous life, they were clearly not powerful enough. At most, they just had large bodies and great strength.

But so what? This was the One Piece world! It was a once in a lifetime chance, being chosen by his dreamed-of God to become the successor.

Although he didn't know the specific reasons, Zavia couldn't care about so much for now. What he had to do now was live in the moment and enjoy the fun between these anime worlds.

Arriving in the One Piece world he had always fantasized about, how could Zavia restrict himself to a small place? Hawkeye had his own territory, so why couldn't he have one too? Moreover, Hawkeye even had a castle, while all Zavia had here was trees and a volcano, how could they compare?

"Sigh, so annoying, I don't even know how to build a ship, and this island seems to be deserted, unlikely anyone will come."

Zavia muttered to himself, his dead fish eyes boredly looking at the surrounding trees, all he could see were trees. Suddenly, there were several gunshots in the distance, accompanied by a few roars.

Zavia immediately stopped and pricked up his ears to discern where the gunshots were coming from.

Soon, he determined the gunshots came from the southeast relative to his position, which was the direction he had arrived at the coast before.

"Hmm, could it be someone came? Is it the pirate group I saw earlier? That would be great if so."

Zavia's feet exerted force and he leapt up into a tree, beginning to navigate through the branches.

After determining the direction, Zavia couldn't help but start guessing if these people were the pirate group he had vaguely seen at the coast a few hours ago.

If so, then he would be in some trouble, because he didn't know whether to kill them and take their ship, or let them live and force them to serve him.

After careful consideration, Zavia decided to play it by ear. If their temperament was decent, then he would have them give him a ride, but if they were typical fodder, then he would keep the navigator and eliminate the rest.

Zavia leapt again, landing on a tree up ahead. He crouched there, observing the scene in the open space below.

This place was the northeast side of the coast, an open area without any trees, though the reason for the lack of trees was unknown. After all, things in the One Piece world couldn't be understood by common sense.

"Damn it! Why are you here!? Garp!"

In the open space, a man with messy, dusty clothes and bangs held a pistol, pointing it at a navy soldier 10 meters in front of him.

"Hahahaha! No need to worry about that, since you met this old man, it just means you have terrible luck, 'Executioner' Morgan Mohsen!"

In front of the pirate called Morgan Mohsen, this navy wearing a dog head mask bared his teeth, undaunted even with a gun pointing at him, and even exuded a faint pressure.

"Shut up! Garp! I will never let you catch me and throw me into Impel Down! Die! Garp!"

Morgan Mohsen spoke hysterically, aiming his gun at the navy with a beard of gray-white in front of him, and pulled the trigger.

Bang!

At this moment, time seemed to slow down, the whole world turning blue-white.

The round bullet streaked through the air, trailing layers of ripples that formed a beautiful straight line.

Suddenly, a blue figure appeared on the ground, the silvery-white glow slowly cutting through the bullet flying midair, easily slicing into it. Then one could only see dust rising slowly as Zavia took off at low altitude.

Time abruptly resumed, accompanied by a sonic boom, the dazzling sunlight shone on the Yamato's reflected golden light, stopping at the pirate's neck. In the reflection on the blade, there was only a terrified expression.

"Hmm!? What the hell!"

"...Who... exactly... are you..."

Mohsen's face was filled with fear, his body didn't dare move at all. His wide eyes looked down, at a shiny and sharp blade currently held against his neck. At the blade's edge was a trace of blood.

Mohsen's terrified gaze slowly looked up. To his left was a white-haired, blue-eyed, blue-coated man staring expressionlessly at him.

Those eyes were so cold it made one shiver. Adding to that their blue color, it gave Mohsen the illusion that he was naked in extreme cold.

"I'll kill you if you dare speak, I'll kill you if you dare move, and I'll also kill you if you dare try to fight back. If you understand, slowly close your eyes when my blade leaves, then kneel down."

Cold blue eyes, cold words, the first impression Zavia gave Mohsen was coldness, mercilessness. Saying he would kill as easily as turning a hand, just like a machine without emotion.

"Hey! You brat! Who are you!? You don't even take this navy seriously?!"

At this moment, Garp went online. He had been stunned for a few seconds by Zavia's actions just now before recovering when Zavia spoke. He had never seen anyone so fast, except for one person.

Seeing Mohsen slowly close his eyes and slowly kneel down, Zavia put away his originally cold expression and turned around with a smile.

"Oh, I'm really sorry about that. Please accept my most sincere apologies for this matter, Navy Hero Vice Admiral Garp." After saying that, Zavia bowed slightly.

"Oh? You know me? From your appearance, you don't seem to be from around here."

Garp was not fooled by Zavia's superficial performance. He wasn't a fool, just brawn and no brains. A word that suited Garp very well was "looking dull but actually smart".

"You're right, Vice Admiral Garp. I'm from the North Blue. Due to some accident at sea, the ship I was on was destroyed. Fortunately I washed up on this deserted island. As for your name, I guess there's hardly anyone in the world who doesn't know it now?"

Zavia smiled at Garp as he spoke in a very reasonable and convincing manner. No flaws could be found at all in his words. Of course, this was a necessary measure. He definitely couldn't say he was from another world and knew everything about this place, who would believe that?

To be honest, Zavia was extremely excited inside right now, because he had encountered one of his favorite characters from One Piece, Garp!

Speaking of Garp, Zavia had complicated feelings, happy and sad. For the sake of justice in his heart, the old man had endured who knows how much suffering.

Take the Summit War for instance. At the moment Ace died, aside from Whitebeard, the other person most furious was Garp!

If Garp hadn't been pressed to the ground by Sengoku then with his injuries at the time, could he still have been jumping around?

"Humph! A mere brat with so much nonsense. Since you know me, then you should understand that thing is useless against me!"

"Of course I know. I just wanted to prove the strength I'm displaying now and see if I have the qualifications to join the Navy."

"Hmm???"

This sudden operation almost made Garp throw out his old waist.

And Mohsen, who had just regained some consciousness, fainted again instantly upon hearing Zavia say this. Damn! With someone so strong joining the Navy, we pirates would have no face left!

"Did you just say you want to join the Navy?"

Garp was somewhat shocked. He wondered if he had misheard and so asked again, but the answer remained the same.

"Hmm, kid, if you want to join the Navy then I welcome you, but if you want to become a pirate, I will definitely throw you into Impel Down!"

Garp picked his nose as he spoke nonchalantly, but his tone became serious when mentioning becoming a pirate.

Zavia understood this side of the old Garp, so he just smiled without replying. Then he sheathed the Yamato, grabbing Mohsen by the collar with one hand and lifting him up.

With just this one action, Garp's perception of Zavia was refreshed again. Although this Mohsen looked rather thin and lanky, after all he was still a 70 kg muscular pirate. Yet he was lifted up in one hand by this person who looked even thinner than him. That was truly remarkable.

"So how should I deal with this guy?"

Zavia lifted the pirate whose face was filled with fear and eyes were lifeless, tossing him in front of Garp, then slapped off the dust on his hands.

"You don't need to worry about that. Now that I've caught this guy, he can only go to Impel Down. Alright, if you want to join the Navy then come with me. We'll talk more after getting back on the ship."

Garp carried Mohsen, whose face was even paler after hearing he would go to Impel Down, turning around with his back facing Zavia as he spoke, already walking forward as he talked.

Zavia just smiled without replying, following Garp's footsteps.

***

On the coast, a mid-sized Navy battleship with a dog head figurehead was docked by the shore. Marines could be seen coming and going above, while the lookout at the top held a telescope, observing the situation at the surrounding sea area.

Following Garp to the coast, a relaxed smile that had never appeared since coming here surfaced on Zavia's face.

On the way, Zavia had asked about some intelligence on the current world situation. Garp was quite open-minded, telling Zavia about some major events in the current world.

Of course, according to his own "account", this was all content from the newspapers.

Aside from some useless minor intelligence, Zavia obtained some important intelligence from the conversation with Garp.
