Before Ava could respond, an omega entered the room and announced that Ava would be spending the night with the alpha. Two guards came in to escort her to his chambers. Nelly silently wished her good luck, and Sarah gave a long hiss.

The alpha's room was dark, a massive bed in the center, and in it was Alpha Raventhorn, naked from the chest to his waist, the sheet covering the rest of his body. His eyes watched her like a predator.

Ava's heart pounded, and her body shook.

Lucas looked her over impressively, licking his lips. "Alpha Leon should be flogged for dulling your beauty."

"I am glad I meet your expectations."

"Why don't we put that delicious mouth to good use? Undress."

Ava ran her hands down the silk of her dress, calming her nerves. She chose this, yes, but now, standing there looking at the mountain of a man in the bed, she was beginning to think she chose wrong. Being beaten to death by Luna Selene and her minions would have been better.

He stood from the bed, naked as the day he was born. Ava blushed and looked away as he took intimidating steps toward her. "You are mine now."

"May I ask a favor, Alpha?" Ava dared. There never would be a better time to ask him, so why not do it then?

"Could I begin training tomorrow?"

He sat up, stunned at her request. "You want to learn to fight, why?"

"I have been ridiculed since I can remember because I do not have a wolf yet. If I can't defend myself with my claws, I would love to learn to do it with my fists."

"You are my concubine. No one would hurt you here."

"Still, it would make me feel strong having the knowledge that I can fight back."

"Very well, I will assign a Gamma to you."

A knock came at the door with the announcement that Sarah had arrived. She breezed into the room and sneered at Ava, who was on her knees.

"You called, Alpha."

"How did it go?" Lily asked the next morning when Ava got to the living room.

"Terribly." Ava replied flatly, dropping into one of the sofas.

Sarah entered almost immediately and sent Ava a teasing and wicked smile.

"Really? That bad? Lucas is really great in matters of the bedroom. Did you do something wrong?"

"Our little new concubine here is a virgin." Sarah announced. Lily gasped and covered her mouth.

Sarah burst into laughter at Lily's comment.

"It's not funny," Ava scowled.

"Actually it is. Better warm up to the idea because when Alpha Lucas Raventhorn wants to take you, he will in the roughest way possible." Sarah advised.

"You mean like last night? I thought he was going to rip you in half." Ava rolled her eyes.

"I like my men rough."

"Well, I don't." Ava retorted.

"If you are looking for flowers, love, and vanilla sex. You are a concubine to the wrong alpha."

"Ain't that the truth." Ava murmured under her breath.

Ava had barely taken two sips of the tea she was served when a servant entered the living room. She had hoped to get some moments of peace before the other concubines returned.

"Alpha Lucas has requested your presence in the training yard."

Ava set down her cup. "For what?"

The servant kept her head down. "He has assigned Gamma Kade to begin your training in combat."

"Okay. Uhm, can I get something more appropriate to wear aside from a dress?" she asked.

"There is a training outfit on your bed."

"Okay." Ava quickly got up, excited as she took the first step towards her independence.
