Chapter 20: Police Hunt 2

Ryuta Itakami and his partner Colonel Ryutaiya Kanagawa, or as he was often called Kanagawa-dono, because he often impeccably lectured other police officers on how to do things. As soon as they got into the car and made sure that no one was following them, they began to communicate.

-This is serious business, Itakami. We can't screw up.

-I understand.

-Now we need to check the address where the tip was received. - he explained in detail.

-Yes, I was at the meeting.

-It's good that you don't miss meetings. My gut tells me that we'll finally get to those damned yakuza spreading dope all over the city.

-Junior Officer Tsukauchi told me something about a connection with the Eight Testaments.

- You don't know much, kid, but I'll say that you're very close to the truth. Tsukauchi showed me that he's quite a smart guy, he has a great future, I swear.

- Is this your last one? - Itakami joked.

- Don't joke like that, kid, I go to my dentist regularly.

A barely perceptible movement was heard from under the seat, which immediately stopped.

- Did you hear?

- What? No. I'm watching the road.

After a minute's pause, they turned onto another street. - I heard that Tsukauchi wants to become a detective.

- He's young, so he can design, let him sit in stuffy offices in his old age.

- So why can't you sit still then?

- Probably a pain in the ass. I don't know. This case will be the last one, and I'll either go to the second level or sit in the office until retirement. - the old man twitched his mustache dreamily, remembering the time he spent with his grandchildren. They arrived at the right address and parked near the neighboring building so that the car would not be seen.

-Can't you see that there is nothing in the windows? - The old man had no eyesight whatsoever.

-The light is on there. - Itakami suggested.

-Already a reason to visit.

-Is it easier for us not to get a search warrant, the consequence of which will be an invasion?

-They will get wind of it and quickly close up their barrel organ. We will simply not succeed.

The seemingly unremarkable brick building in the middle of an industrial center was not used by anything. Its small parking lot lit up with a yellowish lantern light. The light in the world was on, but there was no movement inside. After waiting a while, they got out of the car to then look out the window closer.

-A warehouse like any other.

-Yeah, just inside these boxes. We need to get inside.

Itakami heard a slight buzzing sound from somewhere again, but they didn't bother their partner with trifles. He simply closed his eyes and concentrated on the current task. - "Drank too much coffee today."

After examining the building, they saw an open window at the back of the warehouse. It was too high to reach, but you could squeeze through inside the building. Itakami brought a trash can on wheels and climbed onto it.

-Just hurry up and report what you see in the boxes, and then get going right away.

-Got it. -Itakami climbed through the window and got into the warehouse.

-Damn, I'm too old for this shit. -The colonel's instincts told him that this was not a good sign. He connected the radio to his partner on the road to maintain contact. -Over, what do you see?

-I got inside, there's no one here, a bunch of boxes. I'm going to unpack one of them.

Itakami walked down the stairs and dropped it from the boxes with a crash, and then spent quite a while looking for a crowbar to finally open the box. It was pouring out emissions with suspicious substances, similar to the drugs that Itakami had seen earlier.

- Your mother... They were right. - In addition to this address, there were ten and dozens of other tips, but Kanagawa chose this one, which significantly advanced the drug smuggling case.

- Kanagawa! Kanagawa over! There are drugs here, they are really here! - there was silence on the other side, and then a half-constricting scream was heard. Itakami shuddered and ran to the window.

A couple of minutes before that.

Grimm stood on the roof of the warehouse and looked straight at the policeman below him. He doesn't think to look up, he just turns around and that's it. Having gathered his courage, Taiko, before drawing the blade from the sheath, jumped straight at the policeman, trying to pierce him, but the next second he noticed the shadow of the lantern flying straight at him. The policeman fell, and Taiko missed, almost dropping the blade.

It is quite difficult to notice a weapon in visibility conditions, especially a small pistol. Taiko hastened to immediately chop off the hand pulling the pistol. The speed of the blade outpaced the force on Kanagawa's trigger. The blade completely cut off the hand that dropped the pistol.

-Aa...!!! - he screamed in pain, but Taiko shut him up, which is why the scream was not as loud as it could have been. Taiko grabbed the policeman's pistol with a serial number.

-Cool. - he pulled the bolt, checked the clip with a full magazine. Now he had a wonderful trophy.

Itakami looks out of the window with horror turning into anger. Kanagawa saw him and overcame the pain, momentarily disconnected from Grimma's strangling grip.

-Itakami, RUN!!! - The last thing that came out of Kanagawa's scream before his throat was cut. Thus, abandoning his partner, he quickly ran away, simultaneously focusing on the turns of the site, he ran out through the black exit warehouse, which opened only in one direction.

Taiko quickly got his bearings and began to control the hornet from the car, and then began to chase the policeman. Before he said anything into the tuned radio, the paralyzing sting flew into his neck.

- Hey, this is the dispatcher. Hey? Do you copy?... - a corresponding hiss was heard.

Taiko first took a photo of the dead Kanagawa with a cut throat, and then threw it into a trash can, which he took away, while Itakami lay paralyzed, trying to touch the radio with barely moving fingers. He deliberately took his time, experimenting how long the paralysis would last.

Standing to the side, Taiko watched as Itakami's limbs gradually regained their former mobility. - "At this rate, in about 5 minutes, he'll be able to walk with a limp. That's enough." Taiko finished him off and took a photo too.

As soon as Taiko cleaned up the traces using his quirk, one huge hornet emerged from Itakami's body and began to eat him. Taiko tried to drive a police car. The start was difficult, but in general, holding the steering wheel and pressing the pedals, changing gears was not a problem.

He did not know the city at all, so he drove around the warehouse to practice driving. Whistling and enjoying the positive comments from Giran in the messenger on the photos he sent, Taiko got out of the car, leaving only the skeleton of Itakami's remains. He wandered into a lonely alley with the hornet sitting on him, changed his clothes and disappeared.

***

All For One smiled somewhere contentedly.

- It seems he succeeded, of course, leaving a mark that will definitely anger the police, the heroes and the public. - Giran commented on the result of Grimm's first contract.

- The main thing is that he proved his effectiveness. No matter how angry the heroes are, their hatred is insignificant, and the police and the public will not be able to oppose anything at all. - Dabi sat boredly next to All For One, whose monstrous bonded burns had already been treated by Kyudai. He absolutely did not care what was happening, he did not even listen.

- To arrange everything like this... Removing the Yakuza guards and turning off the cameras for one hour was a good decision to check him, but I'm afraid the police will not leave it. Of course, if you choose between revealing a large batch of Yakuza drugs and the wrath of the police, the latter is better.
