Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Enduring
The neutron bomb is a type of hydrogen bomb primarily designed for its high-energy neutron radiation as the main lethal force.
Its characteristics include a significant nuclear radiation effect, strong penetration, low energy release, and less significant shockwaves, light radiation, heat radiation, and radioactive contamination compared to conventional nuclear weapons.
Compared to regular nuclear bombs, like the hydrogen bomb mentioned earlier, even if they have the same yield, their shockwaves, light radiation, and nuclear radiation are much smaller.
Neutron bombs mainly use the high-energy neutron radiation emitted during the explosion to harm personnel. They were specially developed to minimize environmental damage and were praised by military experts as the "war god" on the human battlefield.
In general, a neutron bomb with a yield of a few megatons is sufficient. There's no need for excessively powerful levels in human warfare.
The ten-million-ton yield neutron bomb launched from Oregon was manufactured as a precautionary measure after the appearance of the Pacific monster.
"Hmm...?"
When this neutron bomb was inserted into the fireball and detonated, the fireball suddenly expanded, much like a heartbeat, violently swelling.
H'el felt the lighter shockwave and temperature from the neutron bomb compared to the previous one, and his expression couldn't help but turn strange.
This neutron bomb had only torn through three million layers of his biological magnetic field barrier, and it hadn't even torn them as effectively as H'el could repair them. It was stuck outside the barrier.
H'el's cells could absorb nearly any form of radiation energy, and facing this nuclear bomb, it was even easier than before. One could say it was effortless.
After waiting for a few seconds, following the high temperature and shockwaves, H'el simply withdrew the barrier. The high-energy neutron radiation from the neutron bomb surged towards his skin, and H'el's skin cells were like countless voracious monsters, devouring the incoming radiation without discrimination.
Inside the oval office, people were mentally unraveling. Some began to bang their heads against the walls, unwilling to believe that a living being had withstood two nuclear bombs and was still standing tall within that blazing fireball, its flickering black silhouette resembling a deity.
"You must die, you must die, you must die... the world doesn't need deities." Hands clasped tightly in front of their chests, someone muttered in continuous prayer, tears streaming down their eyes, praying for the alien's demise in an increasingly frenzied manner.
"Don't lose hope, victory still belongs to us."
The one who dropped his cigar had burned a large hole in the blue carpet. Seeing the outcome of the second nuclear bomb and the fact that the god-like figure was still within the blazing fireball, he couldn't help but tremble. He took out a new cigar but failed to light it several times due to his shaking hands. He bit into an unlit cigar, trembling lips and said,
"There's still hope, there's still hope."
"I don't believe he can survive!"
"The last nuclear bomb is the most powerful!"
"We are the strongest on Earth!"
"We are the strongest nation! This is Earth's mightiest weapon!"
A group of nearly frenzied leaders twisted their faces, gasping for air, eyes wide open, and stared at the screen, at the black figure within the fireball.
The President, sitting in his chair, had his face sagging, feeling suddenly aged and frail. His entire body was weak, slumped in his seat.
The figure within the fireball was too despair-inducing.
None of the Earth's human leaders could remain calm. Their faces were pale and contorted.
Nuclear bombs had always been hailed as the most powerful weapons for humanity, and the being that had endured two of the most powerful ones was still standing at the center of that fireball. The mushroom-shaped black smoke billowed around him, as if crowning him as a deity.
The final nuclear bomb was launched from Nevada, carrying seventy million tons of three-phase fusion, also known as the "hydro-uranium bomb." It used natural uranium as its shell, and its energy release process involved a three-stage fusion-fission-fusion hydrogen bomb. It was currently the most powerful nuclear weapon on Earth.
Russia had once tested a fifty-million-ton version called the Tsar Bomba. The explosion produced a fireball with a radius of 4600 meters and a mushroom cloud that was nearly 40 kilometers wide and around 64 kilometers high, roughly seven times the height of Mount Everest's summit above sea level.
The blast's intense heat wave caused third-degree burns to people over 51 kilometers away. The flash from the explosion caused severe eye pain and burns to people's eyes up to 43 kilometers away, resulting in cataracts and blindness. The shockwave expanded outward to a range of nearly 100 kilometers.
Its power was equivalent to 3864 times the Little Boy atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima during World War II.
And this missile, launched from Nevada, carrying seventy million tons of three-phase fusion, is even more powerful than the Tsar Bomba. Its immense weight delayed its arrival until the last moment, when it plunged directly into the enormous fireball.
"Boom!"
The massive fireball over the Pacific Ocean, like the Earth's heart, surged violently from within, as if its core was churning like molten lava. Suddenly, it erupted even more intensely, expanding the fireball and completely engulfing the mushroom clouds from the previous two nuclear bombs. It formed a colossal flaming sphere under the clear night sky.
H'el felt the explosive shockwave and the billion-degree heat. Three hundred and eighty million layers of his bio-magnetic field barrier were instantly melted, reducing it to just one hundred and eighty million layers. This made him a bit uneasy.
After experiencing the first hydrogen bomb and the second neutron bomb, he had a deeper memory and understanding of nuclear fusion and fission reactions. Therefore, after the second neutron bomb, he had improved the bio-magnetic field barriers he reconstructed within his body.
H'el's use of the bio-magnetic field was unparalleled, and if it were a nuclear bomb of the same level as the first hydrogen bomb, he could withstand it with just about eight million layers of barriers.
However, this seventy million-ton three-phase fusion bomb was far more terrifying than the one hundred and seventy million-ton hydrogen bomb.
H'el continued to reconstruct his bio-magnetic field barriers. The cell fluid within his body began to draw upon immense energy. For a moment, H'el was glowing brightly. He endured nearly three seconds of intense struggle against the massive shockwave and heat, but eventually, the overwhelming force and heat broke through his bio-magnetic field barriers.
"Not enough!"
H'el laughed within the nuclear explosion. He had no worries. The bio-magnetic field was just an extension of his power; his true physical strength and endurance were much greater. His body was his ultimate source of power.
Breaking through his bio-magnetic field barriers, the billion-degree heat began to burn his chest. His fair skin was rapidly incinerated, revealing gracefully sculpted blood-red muscles and various fiber structures.
The next moment, H'el's cells spread out, emitting a radiant energy glow, and swiftly began to reclaim and repair his epidermis. The billion-degree heat struggled against him like it was fighting for his skin. It burned his skin repeatedly, but the high temperature's duration was too short. After a few cycles of burning and healing, H'el was fully restored.
Now, the peak temperature had passed, and it could no longer harm H'el in the slightest.
"Nuclear bombs are indeed formidable, as they were able to break through my bio-magnetic field barriers and scorch my skin."
H'el's mood was joyful, his eyes tinged with red light, and a cruel and heartless smile curled his lips.
Once again, he extended his bio-magnetic field, enveloping the enormous orange-red fireball with a diameter of over fourteen thousand kilometers. The colossal orange-red fireball, which had just begun to emerge from the mushroom cloud, was trapped within it, forced to rotate within his field.
The fiery sphere slowly ascended, resembling a star evolving and ascending.
In this clear, starry night sky, amidst the brilliant stars, he raised a finger to the enormous black smoke and orange-red fireball with a diameter of fourteen thousand kilometers, like a star. His black hair disheveled, his pupils burning a fiery red, overlooking the world with a cruel and heartless smile.
