Creating Civilization In My Private Island

Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Land Creatures

Azure stares at the dome, his heart pounding as the accelerated time makes the world within blur into a chaotic whirl of evolution. He squints, trying to make out any discernible details, but it's impossible. Everything is moving too fast.

"Nexus," he says, his voice filled with anticipation, "just tell me when they start venturing onto land."

"As you wish, Host," Nexus responds calmly.

Hours pass as Azure remains glued to the dome, his thoughts racing. He wonders what kind of creatures will survive, which will perish, and which will rise to dominance. He imagines them crawling out of the water for the first time, their limbs weak and their bodies adapting to a new world.

After what feels like an eternity, Nexus speaks up, breaking the silence. "Host, the creatures have begun their evolution towards the land."

Azure's pulse quickens. "Really? Finally…" He leans closer, but still sees only blurs of movement. "Nexus, stop the acceleration of time. I want to see them."

"Understood. Stopping time acceleration now," Nexus confirms.

As soon as the acceleration halts, the swirling chaos within the dome slows to a crawl, revealing a scene far more detailed and complex than Azure had anticipated. He leans in closer, his breath catching as the landscape sharpens before his eyes. The once-empty land is now alive, teeming with creatures that seem to have evolved right under his nose.

"Look at them," Azure whispers in awe, his voice barely audible. The creatures are small—most are no larger than an ant. Yet, in the context of the miniature world, they appear almost normal-sized, bustling with life.

One of the creatures catches his eye immediately. It moves quickly, darting across the damp shore with a grace he hadn't expected. Its body is sleek, covered in a fine layer of translucent skin that reflects the artificial sunlight. It resembles a rabbit in shape, though much smaller, its tiny limbs propelling it with surprising speed as it navigates the unfamiliar terrain.

"Is that…?" Azure squints, following the creature's movements. "It looks like some kind of feline type animal…"

"Indeed, Host," Nexus confirms. "The creature has evolved a form similar to that of small mammalian species. While most of the land-dwellers remain quite diminutive, they are surprisingly refined in their adaptation to the land."

Azure's gaze sweeps across the rest of the landscape. Creatures of all shapes and forms scurry about, their sizes varying slightly, but none larger than a thumb. Some are insect-like, with segmented bodies and spindly legs, while others have smoother, more fluid forms, slithering through the underbrush in search of food. He notices that many of them have developed tiny appendages—rudimentary limbs that help them navigate the rocky terrain.

Nexus's calm voice interrupts his thoughts. "Host, do you wish to enter the miniature world?"

Azure blinks, taken aback by the proposition. "Is that okay? What if I flatten all these trees and creatures inside?"

"Don't worry, Host," Nexus assures him. "If you enter, you will be walking in the air, slightly above the trees. You won't destroy the world."

With a deep breath, Azure considers the offer, excitement bubbling inside him. "If that's the case, let's go inside then."

He steps toward the translucent barrier encasing the miniature ecosystem. As he passes through, a wave of refreshing energy washes over him. It feels like a rejuvenating breeze enveloping his body, and for a brief moment, he forgets the burdens of his seventy years.

"Wow, what just happened?" Azure exclaims, glancing around in wonder.

"Host, it's due to the special energy within the mini world," Nexus explains. "This energy can help the creatures in this world evolve into level-1 life forms."

Nexus continues. "For you to become a level-1 life form, at least half of the creatures in your mini world need to evolve into that level themselves."

Azure processes this information, feeling a surge of purpose. "So, if I can help these creatures evolve, I might gain abilities of my own? What does a level-1 life form even entail?"

"Becoming a level-1 life form grants enhanced attributes," Nexus elaborates. "It allows for better adaptation to environments, increased longevity, and increase strength by a lot."

As Azure begins to walk through the miniature world, he notices a shift in the air. The once bustling landscape now feels tense, almost fearful. Creatures scatter in every direction at the mere sight of him. Tiny beings skitter into the underbrush, while lizard-like creatures dash behind rocks, seeking shelter from the immense being towering above them. It's a natural reaction—after all, to them, Azure must appear as a giant, a colossal figure that could crush their fragile existence with a single step.

Despite floating slightly above the ground, his mere presence sends ripples of fear through the ecosystem. Azure frowns, realizing the impact he's having on these tiny lives.

However, as he walks, he notices something out of the corner of his eye—a creature that isn't running. Amidst the chaos, one being remains perfectly still. It's the feline-like creature he had noticed earlier. Unlike the others, it doesn't flee or hide. Instead, it stands there, gazing up at him with those curious, reflective eyes.

Azure stops, intrigued by its calm demeanor. Compared to him, the rabbit-like creature is no bigger than an ant, yet there's an undeniable sense of connection between them.

"Hello, little guy," Azure whispers, crouching down to get a closer look. His voice is soft, careful not to startle the brave little creature.

The feline-like being twitches its ears in response, its nose quivering as if trying to sense more about this enormous visitor. It takes a small step forward, almost as if it's acknowledging Azure's presence, rather than fearing it. Azure watches in awe, his heart swelling with admiration for this tiny but courageous creature.

Compared to everything else in this world, the rabbit-like creature stands out—not just because of its appearance but its reaction. While others scatter in fear, this one seems curious, almost trusting.

"You're not afraid, huh?" Azure smiles gently. He extends his hand, hovering it just above the ground, careful not to disturb the creature's environment.
