Conqueror’s Desire

MC stared intently at Nami, trying to guess what was going through her mind. The woman was far too relaxed despite being surrounded by pirates who were clearly after her.

What is she planning?

The bald pirate with a scar on his cheek crossed his arms, smirking mockingly at Nami. "A deal, huh? You think we'd trust you after what you did?"

Nami simply smiled sweetly. "You know I never cheat without a reason."

MC grew even more cautious. She spoke as if she already knew them.

"What did she do to you?" MC finally asked.

Another pirate, a skinny man with a tattered hat, grinned. "This woman used to work for our captain. She stole something from us and ran away. If it weren't for the captain, we would've killed her back then."

MC glanced at Nami. "Is that true?"

Nami shrugged. "I think 'stealing' is too harsh a word. I merely took something that was more useful to me than to them."

This woman really can't be trusted.

The bald pirate spat on the ground. "I don't have time for games. If you don't want to die, give me a reason to listen to your offer."

Nami grinned. "I have a map to a hidden treasure on this island."

The atmosphere instantly shifted.

MC could see how the pirates' expressions changed. Their eyes, once filled with murderous intent, now gleamed with greed.

"A treasure map?" the bald pirate asked, his voice dripping with interest.

Nami nodded. "Yes. I can lead you to it. But of course, I won't do it for free."

MC narrowed his eyes. She really is a cunning woman.

The bald pirate chuckled darkly. "And what do you want?"

Nami turned to MC. "Let both of us go, and I'll show you the location."

MC was taken aback. Why is she including me?

The pirates seemed to consider it. After a moment, the bald man grinned. "Fine. But if you're lying—you know what'll happen."

Nami winked. "Of course."

As they began walking into the forest, MC moved closer to Nami and whispered sharply, "What exactly are you doing?"

Nami smirked without looking at him. "I just saved your life."

MC clenched his fists. "Or maybe you're just saving yourself."

Nami chuckled. "Maybe both?"

MC could only sigh. This woman was truly dangerous.

And now, he was forced to play along with her game.
