Conqueror’s Desire

MC and Nami were still gasping for breath after their battle against the mysterious sea creature. The water around them had calmed, but the tension in the air remained thick.

"Are you okay?" Nami asked, her eyes filled with concern despite her firm tone.

MC glanced at her before nodding. "I'm fine… but I don't understand what just happened."

He looked down at his palm again. For a brief moment, he could still feel the lingering warmth of the strange power that had awakened during the fight.

How was I able to do that?

Nami stepped closer, her expression growing serious. "You heard the creature's voice too, didn't you?"

MC's eyes widened. "So, you heard it as well?"

Nami nodded slowly. "I didn't understand what it was saying, but I felt something… something unnatural about that creature."

MC swallowed hard. "It said… 'The chosen one has finally arrived.' As if it had been waiting for me all this time."

Hearing those words, Nami's expression shifted to something more worried.

"That can't be a coincidence," she said, crossing her arms. "And that power you used… I've never seen anything like it before."

MC remained silent. He had no idea where that power had come from either.

Before they could discuss it further, a deep rumbling echoed from within the cave.

"Damn it! This place won't hold for long!" Nami grabbed MC's hand. "We need to get out of here before we're buried alive!"

They hurriedly swam to the shore and ran toward a stable passage. Behind them, the cave walls were collapsing, and seawater was rising fast.

After several minutes of sprinting, they finally found an exit—a narrow gap leading outside.

"Jump!" Nami leaped first, and MC quickly followed.

The moment they landed, MC collapsed onto the sand, panting. "That… was insane."

Nami sat beside him, still catching her breath. "Yeah… and I have a feeling this is just the beginning."

MC gazed up at the sky. The stars shimmered above them, and the sound of waves echoed softly in the distance.

The beginning of what?

He didn't know. But one thing was certain—his life would never be the same again.
