She stared into my eyes. "I... I want you."

She gulped as her eyes fell on my lips. I leaned in closer. I can feel her breath on my face. She closed her eyes as our lips touched. Hmmm. Sweet and soft. I cupped her face and kissed her deeper. Fuck! This is hot.

We parted as she blushed even harder. "Wow! That was... Phew!" She wiped her forehead. As far as I know, she almost killed her first boyfriend when they kissed. She drained him out of his viability and sent him to bed forever in a vegetable state. But, I am different. She can kiss me as much as she wants without worrying about killing me or maybe more. "Brian, thank you." She smiled.

"That was sweet and a bit lemony," I licked my lips.

"Huh? Oh!" She glanced at the lemonade glass on the table. "You know this is the first time I kissed someone without nearly killing them."

"Glad to be your lucky partner then," I reached for her hands. She didn't pull away. Instead, she squeezed them gently.

"So, what now?" She asked. "Like, are you asking me to be your girlfriend?"

"Not asking and not a girlfriend. I want you to be my woman," I said without breaking our eye contact, "Stay by my side forever."

She gasped as her heart raced. "Are you serious?"

"As serious as ever. I want to love you and make you feel special every day. I will provide anything you need or want. Your happiness is my priority," I told her the truth. "I will love you just as much as I love my other girls."

She bit her lip as she looked around. Thankfully, it was only the two of us. She cleared her throat.

"Do you think I deserve this?" She whispered.

"Oh baby," I kissed her knuckles, "You deserve every bit of it."

She reached over and pressed her lips on mine. Awww!

"How about we take one step at a time?" I rubbed her fingers as she nodded. "I want to spend some quality time with you... Want to know more about you and I am sure you want to know more about me too..."

"You mean, we'll go on a date?" Her eyes sparkled.

"A date? Oh, no... Not a date, but many dates," I smiled. "We will go around the world, visiting the places you always wanted to go. And that little wishbook you keep scribbling every now and then... I am going to fulfill every single one of them."

Her cheeks burned as her chest pounded. It's truly amazing what love can do to a woman's mind. I can feel our bond strengthening every second. I might not be able to unlock her power yet, but this relationship will take us to great lengths.

Truth be told, ever since I have seen her for the first time, the terrified girl those Illuminati fuckers kept in confinement to use her as a last resort weapon, I knew I had to do something. So, after I rose up to the position I am in right now, I rescued her from them and brought her to Paradise Island, trained her, and helped her to get through the difficult phase of her life.

In the beginning, she was too terrified to do anything, afraid that she would accidentally hurt someone, and ended up like last time. She was afraid to touch anyone and who could blame her? So, I had to slowly teach her to control that insane power of hers with the System's help. Gali also helped occasionally with her mental training to help keep her mind intact in case she absorbs too many powers at once. And slowly gain the trust that she had lost from everyone after living in confinement. And, here we are now.

I can see the look on her face. Her trust in me is genuine and her love for me is growing.

"You have no idea how much you have changed my life," She murmured.

I kissed the back of her palm. "And I am going to continue doing it," I paused for a second. "Of course, only if you agree to stay with me forever and give me all of yourself," I smirked.

Her mouth opened wide as she stared at me in disbelief. "Wow! How can you be so direct?"

I shrugged. "What can I say? Love makes me lose control over my senses. And it's better to be honest than to beat around the bushes. You better not expect me to act like a gentleman 24/7," I chuckled.

"Hehe... I would like that," She squeezed my fingers.

"But, let's give it some time. We have all the time in the world, so no need to rush things, okay?"

"Sure." She nodded.

I looked up at the sky. Hmmm. I wonder... Why can't peace remain like this? No fights, no crimes... But, then again, maybe there is a reason for everything. "How about we take a walk? You know, get some fresh air? And maybe, swing by the park and enjoy the sunset."

"I would like that a lot," Rogue smiled.

And with that, we headed out with our fingers interlocked. The lunch was great and the company was even better. What can go wrong with this date? I would love to spend some time without any interruption from anyone.

We walked by the streets, up in the market area, and past a few boutiques, trying out a couple of clothes here and there. Rogue was giggling like a teenager and her laughter was infectious.

"Why don't you try that blue dress? It will fit you perfectly. You will look dazzling," I whispered as she tried out a deep V-cut mini dress.

She checked herself in the mirror, turning her head from side to side.

"Isn't that a bit short?" She touched her chest area where I could see her cleavage from the V-cut.

"It's perfect for our little getaways in private," I whispered as I came closer and planted a wet kiss on her neck.

She blushed hard as she hit my chest softly. "Brian! We're in public!"

"Yeah, I don't see anyone in this changing room though," I leaned in for another kiss. "What about the red one?"

"Huh?" She arched an eyebrow.

"Red dress," I whispered as I moved away and picked up the glamorous dress. "Try this one."

"It's too expensive!" She shook her head.

"Really, now? I own this Island. So, choose anything you want. In the meantime, I will be over there," I noticed some sexy lingerie. I will buy them for my girls back at the mansion. Maybe pick a couple of clothes for Cristina for that upcoming photoshoot. God, I love my life.

Rogue peeked her head out from the changing room. "Uhh... Brian?"

"Yes?" I turned around.

She smiled and went back inside. I know that smile. I took the dresses and asked the lady behind the counter to pack them up and went back inside the changing room. And there she was, a beauty in a red dress that fits her perfectly. Truth be told, I was stunned for a moment. She just looks too good in that.

"So?" She asked while fidgeting with her fingers.

Without any words, I walked up to her. It was like my feet were moving on its own. I grabbed her chin and kissed her lips. It's such a sensual kiss. She wrapped her arms around me as we sank in deeper, tasting each other. We parted, but our foreheads were still touching. Our gazes were on each other's lips.

"Gorgeous," I whispered.

"What?"

"You," I held her waist and stared into her green eyes. "You are gorgeous."

She blushed hard. "Oh, no... Don't look at me like that."

"But I love your beauty. Every part of it," I kissed her nose, her cheeks, her neck, and finally her shoulders. "Anna Marie, I really am in love with you and if we weren't in public right now, I would tear this dress off your body and make sweet, sweet love to you," I whispered.

"I would have loved that," She pushed her lips back against mine, moaning into my mouth. We parted a few minutes later, both out of breath and blushing like tomatoes.

"Any more excitement might not be good for my heart," She took a deep breath.

"Hehe. My heart is hammering as well," I held her tight. She buried her face in my shoulder. I took her scent. My goodness! I have never been so aroused like this. We stayed like that for a few more minutes, just hugging each other close.

"Should we head to the park?" I suggested.

"Yeah, we should," She nodded.

And before long, we made our way to the park after buying all the clothes. Our steps were filled with laughter and giggles as we took a stroll in the beautiful greenery and trees. It's so peaceful.

[Booom!] We whipped our heads to the sound. And before long, we spotted smoke rising from afar.

"That direction..."

Humm... The cosmic shield I had put around Madelyne has been shattered. The Phoenix Force is much stronger than I imagined. I want it at any cost. I want that power. If I get that and fuse it with my cosmic body... Immortality! I quickly shook off my thoughts.

"Let's go," I took Rogue in my arms and teleported back to the Med bay.
