Chapter 92: A Good Mother.
Chapter 92: A Good Mother.
*Celia’s POV*
As I look up at the person who caught me, it was clearly my other mother, Yona. What the heck is she doing here? Plus, catching me must have hurt, right?…
Yona: “What’s the look of worry on your face for? Shouldn’t you be thanking me instead?” She asked with a playful tone and expression.
Celia: “Thanks, but why are you here?” I ask with a raised eyebrow, after she sat me down uh… in the air.
Yona: “What kind of mother would I be, if I left my only daughter to deal with such a dangerous plague?” She replied while rubbing my head.
Celia: “Right… But do you have a bracelet?” I ask.
Yona: “Yes, news of what happened, didn’t reach my kingdom yet. So I only knew about what happened, after I visited your dungeon.” She answered.
Celia: “I see. But, Yona, be careful, it seems that at least the big undead, and maybe some of the variants, aren’t affected by the bracelet.” I say with a serious tone.
Yona: “Ah, so that is why that big one was able to attack you? Do not worry, you might have one other mother, but I shall not be leaving this world so soon.” She replied with an assured tone.
Celia: “Okay… Just be safe! Oh, and that big one that hit me, his name is Doug.” I say with a pout.
Yona: “Doug? What an odd name for an undead… Very well, I shall kill this, Doug undead, to get revenge for you, my dear daughter.” She said after planting a kiss on my forehead, and then flying off to fight Doug.
Doug… that fucker didn’t even last more than a minute. Yona puts up a good mask, but she was clearly upset that I ended up getting hurt. Before returning to the fight, I made sure I wasn’t bitten anywhere, and I wasn’t.
With Yona on our side, the fight went faster than before. Actually, we would have easily cleaned them all up within only an hour, but there was a need to not let people witness Ria and Nia’s full powers.
In a messed up sense, that city surviving, ended up being a liability. Though, a liability that we could account for. So, in the end, it didn’t really matter that they survived, and could witness us fighting.
Now at the entrance to the sewer, we stayed inside it, killing off any undead that tried to escape. Meanwhile, Ria directed a bunch of her maids, to build a sturdy blockade over the exit. It took them around only twenty minutes to do so, as there were forty of them working on it at the same time.
Before they closed it up, we exited the sewer, and this exit was finally sealed off. Now we just had to do the same for the other breaches, before getting the cure, and then finishing the undead off for good.
We fought for hours, so even the Goddesses among us, were tired from the fight. We informed the towns folk that they were safe for now, and then we teleported back to my dungeon. I thought that we would just get a small break, but I was refused the ability to go out to fight once more. And instead, I was guided to a modern looking “castle” within my dungeon.
Inside the castle, all of us were guided to a huge bath, where each of us was pampered, bathed, and massaged for hours on end. I actually even fell asleep at some point during all of it...
When I woke up, there was a sleeping Lia and Nia on a bed with me. Of course, they were both dressed up. Nia was on my left, and Lia was on my right. Each was holding one of my respective arms. Basically, even if I wanted to get up right now, I was trapped in a comfy breast prison… With no other options, I fell back to sleep.
*Yona’s POV*
The fact that a new breed of undead, that not even Light magic worked on, was something that my people hadn’t known about at all. In fact, I was only aware of it when a maid informed me as such, while I was exploring Celia’s once again evolved dungeon.
I was greatly upset that Amelie let Celia just go out to fight these undead, even when I was informed by her that a magic bracelet that deters the undead was made. But I was even more upset with myself, as I only came here on a whim, and wasn’t even aware that Celia was once again risking her life…
By the time that I made it to where she would be fighting, she had been struck by a huge undead. I was absolutely furious at myself, and at the undead about this. I was able to catch Celia, as she was stuck flying.
Dealing with that Doug, as she called it, was quite easy. It wasn’t enough to calm down my rage, so I channeled it into killing off more of the undead.
The fight didn’t last long, so I couldn’t contribute that much to it. I felt like a failure of a mother, so when we got back to her dungeon, I “convinced” her and her group to take a break.
Which was all just a ruse, to pamper the younger ones into falling asleep. As I walked into her room in this castle, Celia, and who I assume are soon to be her future wives, were sound asleep. Frankly, I am happy that her taste in women is so good.
But I didn’t have time to relax, as I actually had to do my job as a mother should. I ask the maid, Ria, to help me deal with the other affected places, where the undead escaped. She agreed with me, and we set off to do as such.
Taking care of them without Celia and her full group, was somewhat of a challenge. This maid, however, was far stronger than she looked. And was clearly stronger than me. Honestly, I might have bitten off more than I could chew. That is, if I didn’t ask for this maid to come along with me.
I wonder what her story is? Though, she doesn’t seem to be the kind of person who would just tell you if you asked, so I didn’t bother to do so. It took an entire day, but we managed to seal up all of the exits, and deal with the undead on the surface.
Now all that is left, is to wait for Amelie to finish the cure, and then deal with the remaining ones in the sewer. That is, assuming there aren’t any other exits…
