Celia: After Dying in the Apocalypse, I Live Once Again!

Chapter 84: Searching.

Hello! This is my latest novel! Unlike my other novels, this one isn't finished yet. The first volume is finished, though. And you can buy it on Amazon here. If you would be so kind, you can also get the first volume(and anything else I've made.) on my Patreon for donating $10 or over that, here. If you wish for updates, the $10 and over tiers will give you access to chapters when I actually finish them. (Maybe one a day? Idk, as I will be mainly working on other novels as well. But, there will at least be one new chapter every few days.)

Chapter 84: Searching.

*Amelie’s POV*

Celia ended up getting sick, as one would expect from what she went through. The fact that we ended up on the same landmass, is a bit odd, and screams as if some higher being was the one that made it happen. Frankly, I don’t even recall why I was flying near this area in the first place…

Regardless, Celia is sick, and we truly need to leave this place as soon as possible. This landmass is completely unexplored, and I highly doubt that any humanoid being is living on it. It is far too harsh for a person to live on, and only some animals could actually pull it off.

Luckily, Celia, for some reason, had brought a Goddess along with her. Kuria is her name, and she is quite a beautiful woman, if I am being honest. Though, she didn’t hide that she was a Goddess at all, so I could easily tell that she was one. Her being a Goddess, is one of the main reasons why she didn’t end up sick like Celia.

I do not know if I should feel upset that I was “forced” to go to this place, or happy that it ended up saving Celia. Even with her current strength, she would easily freeze to death in this environment. As I told her my plan, she was barely able to stay awake. I gave her a kiss goodnight, and I assume that she probably quickly fell asleep after I left.

When I left the room, Kuria was waiting outside the door, with a bowl of soup in hand. Why is a Goddess being so nice to a random mortal? I’ve always thought that Ria was an outlier… Maybe Celia helped her out in some way?… No, wait. I forgot that Ria marked Celia already…

Amelie: “Celia will be falling asleep soon, so you should put that food back in the kitchen.” I explain.

Kuria: “Truly? And I even went to the effort of bringing it up to her.” She replied with a pout.

Amelie: “Where did you even get that soup?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.

Kuria: “Hm? I made it from some ingredients that you had in your kitchen.” She answered.

When I asked her to get Celia some food, I meant like some bread or something along those lines… I wouldn’t trust any of the perishable ingredients find in this house…

Amelie: “If you or her needs food, just take some from out of her pouch. I am sure that Ria had packed her a lot of food just in case something happened to her.” I say with a sigh.

Kuria: “Celia has even more food in that pouch!? How many things can it even hold…” She said with a thinking pose.

Amelie: “From what I’ve seen, it can hold a surprising amount.” I say with a laugh.

Kuria: “I would say so as well. Are you heading out now?” She asked.

Amelie: “That I am.” I reply.

Kuria: “I see, do not worry about Celia, I shall take good care of her.” She said with a confident tone.

Amelie: “I would hope so, I see her as my daughter, if anything bad happened to her, you shall feel my wrath.” I say with a serious tone and expression.

Kuria: “Understood!” She replied.

Ah… why did I even bother to threaten a Goddess? She probably didn’t even see that as an actual threat to worry about at all… Whatever. I then walked out of my house, and then went off in a different direction than what those two came from.

Kuria told me that nothing behind them was worth exploring, as it was mainly a barren frozen land, and a little bit of forest. Celia seemed to be pretty sick, so I should hurry up and figure out a way off of this stupid landmass!

*Hours Later.*

The weather in this land is very odd… When I left my house, it was cold, but the wind was barely noticeable at all. Now, just a few hours later, there is a raging blizzard going on. I hadn’t the displeasure of experiencing such a thing in full force just yet, it is no wonder that Celia got sick from being in this weather…

I have always thought myself to be somewhat powerful, but right now, with no access to my magic at all, I feel very weak. If I could actually use magic right now, I would use wind magic to counteract the frosty wind, and fire magic to keep me warm…

This is where Yona has the advantage over me. She is strong, even without the help of magic. Rather than learn magic, she just supplements it with magic items. Celia can use both, so she has the best of both worlds.

No matter how far that I walked, I could not access my magic at all. And instead, the trees got denser and denser, like I was being led into some grand trap…

Not a few minutes later, a huge spider sprung up from the snow. Luckily, as I had borrowed some of Celia’s weapons, I was able to block its strike. The spider… wasn’t one that I have ever seen before, and in fact, it was a spider, with a woman on top of it.

The woman wasn’t riding the spider, but rather, she WAS the spider. That is to say, she is a part of the spider. What the hell? Never in my life have I ever seen such a being…

Amelie: “Could you perhaps speak?” I ask with a curious tone.

Spider Lady: “That I can. Now then, I have answered your question, so answer mine. Why are you in this land?” She asked back.

Amelie: “Not by choice. I cannot use magic, so I, and my companions, cannot leave.” I explain still with my sword drawn.

Spider Lady: “This land is reserved for… for a future war. Beings such as yourself, shouldn’t have even been able to find it just yet.” She explained.

Future war? I do not like the sound of that at all… But that isn’t important right now. Maybe this woman is an overseer of this land? If so, perhaps we can get her help to leave this horrible place once and for all?

Amelie: “All three of us, were guided here by higher beings. We do not wish to continue staying, and only want to leave.” I say with a serious tone.

Spider Lady: “Leaving will not be an option.” She replied.

Amelie: “Why not?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.

Spider Lady: “All magic is restricted on this land, unless you’re permitted to use it, like me. Even if you make it to the edge of it, there is a barrier that you cannot pass.” She answered.

Amelie: “So, we’re completely trapped in this place?” I ask with a nervous tone.

Spider Lady: “Not exactly. I must first contact my superior, and with her permission, you and your companions might be able to leave.” She replied.

Amelie: “That so? Well, it sure beats being stuck in this place.” I say with a sigh.

If we were stuck without the help from some higher being, then there was no real reason for me to even be out in this harsh cold weather. As such, I walked back in the direction of where I placed down my house. Though, I had to stop walking, because the spider woman was following behind me…

Amelie: “May I ask why you’re following me?” I ask with a confused tone.

Spider Lady: “To guide me to your companions. If you do get help from my superior, then it would be best for me to be near you and your group.” She explained.

Amelie: “Fine…” I reply.

Well, I guess that this woman will be my companion on the trip back to Kuria and Celia… Oh? She can use magic? Hm… she made a fireball to keep me warm. Maybe she isn’t so bad after all. At least I won’t be freezing on the way back…
