Celia: After Dying in the Apocalypse, I Live Once Again!

Chapter 83: Shelter?

Hello! This is my latest novel! Unlike my other novels, this one isn't finished yet. The first volume is finished, though. And you can buy it on Amazon here. If you would be so kind, you can also get the first volume(and anything else I've made.) on my Patreon for donating $10 or over that, here. If you wish for updates, the $10 and over tiers will give you access to chapters when I actually finish them. (Maybe one a day? Idk, as I will be mainly working on other novels as well. But, there will at least be one new chapter every few days.)

Chapter 83: Shelter?

*Celia’s POV*

I do not truly know for how long that we walked for, but at this point, we were freezing to death… No, really. I even had a Freezing Status effect show up on my Status…

The reason for this was quite simple, shortly after we left the bear cave, it started to storm once more. Even with the trees blocking the wind, it was still extremely cold.

Kuria: “C-Celia… I do not know if any Goddesses have died from freezing to death, but I am certainly not going to be the latest one added to that list.” She said with a shaky and grim tone.

Celia: “I don’t want to die either.” I reply with a sigh.

As if by some miracle, we came across a house not long after we talked. The house looked somewhat similar to Amelie’s, so a witch might live in it. Without any hesitation, we ran up to the house, and knocked on the door. It took a lot of restraint to not just break the door open, but I am glad that we didn’t, as someone opened up the door.

In some odd case of coincidence, Amelie was the one who opened up the door… Why the hell is she even in this area in the first place!?

Amelie: “Celia!?” She exclaimed.

Celia: “In the freezing flesh.” I say with a joking tone.

Without asking me any questions, she took us both into the house, and guided us to a fireplace. There was a fire started in it, so the warmth from the flame was very welcome to Kuria and I. Though I was not one for coffee, but Amelie brewed us both a hot cup of it. After drinking it, my body finally stopped feeling frozen.

Amelie: “Why are you here, Celia?” She asked with a curious tone.

Celia: “A higher being teleported me to the default location of this world. It was a dungeon, and the exit was this weird frozen area.” I explain.

Kuria: “And what of you, witch? Why are you in this place?” She asked.

Amelie: “I was flying around, and came to this almost empty land. Once I landed on it, my magic ceased to work. But things like pouches still worked, and I had a few houses stored in mine.” She answered.

Celia: “Really? What odd luck to end up in the same place as us.” I say with a sigh.

Amelie: “Maybe it is destiny? Or, some higher being pushed us to end up in the same place. Regardless, we have to figure out how to leave this landmass.” She said with a thinking pose.

We decided to leave that for tomorrow, as Kuria and I were beyond exhausted at this point. Unfortunately, there was only one bed in this house of Amelie’s. And Amelie was going to bed with us as well. Both of us were far too tired to even care about eating, let alone being bothered by sleeping in the same bed as someone else.

*One Sleep Later.*

When I woke up from my sleep, I was extremely ill. I could barely even open up my eyes. Heh, that’s what I get for letting a family of bears live, while I went to go “play” around in the snow… Those two weren’t in the room, but as I tried to get up from the bed, I ended up falling off of it, which made a loud noise.

Amelie came rushing into the room, but I was honestly barely even aware at this point. I don’t even recall how or when I was put back into bed…

Amelie: “Celia, you’re very sick at the moment.” She said with a sad expression.

Celia: “*Cough* Yeah, I definitely am somewhat sick.” I say with a giggle.

Amelie: “Your human body sure is fragile, you need to evolve as soon as you can.” She said with a thinking pose.

Celia: “I cannot evolve until this body has matured into adulthood.” I say with another cough.

Amelie: “Really? No wonder you haven’t evolved in a while.” She said with a giggle.

Celia: “Yeah, woe is me.” I say with a joking tone.

Amelie: “I have already explained everything to Kuria, since you were clearly sick even in your sleep. I will go find a way out of this place, you and her will rest here.” She explained while rubbing my head.

Celia: “Are you sure? This place seems dangerous.” I ask.

Amelie: “It might be, but staying here would just be a death sentence.” She replied with a sigh.

Celia: “Alright, but just try to stay safe above all else.” I say with a warm tone.

Amelie: “Of course. Kuria will be here in a minute with some food for you. Goodbye, for now, Celia.” She said, after giving me a kiss on my head, and then leaving the room.

Ah, right, so this is what it’s like to have a caring mother… That was what I thought as I watched her leave the room. With nothing better to do, I guess that I should look at my Status for now.

I am almost at the max level for my race… Does that mean that humans can only get to level 100? Would that mean that they would just be stuck forever, no matter how hard they train to get stronger? That would suck! Well, good for me, that I can just evolve.

Granted, I have to actually become an adult first, before I can even think of evolving. Fuck… my head hurts so damn much! Why is that the wound that the Ursa gave me, was somehow less painful than being sick!? God… I hate the fragile human body…

With no Skills or Upgrades to spend my SIP’s on, I just put them into my Stats. Frankly, I don’t feel all that different. I think that once you reach over 100 in any Stat, you won’t feel an improvement until you reach the next hundred… I had a vague feeling that pumping up my Strength Stat, would help me with my sickness, so I put most of my SIP’s into it.

Welp… now that my Strength Stat is at 200, I do feel somewhat stronger. But I do not feel any less sick… Eh, I’ll just chop up that bad decision, to just sickness brain fog.

I was pretty hungry, but before Kuria could show up with some food, I had fallen back to sleep… Oh well, it is far better than being awake right now… Hopefully?…
