Call me Bella: Alpha’s Fated Mate

Chapter 10: Chapter 10

Isabella Martini - POV

"She is in the last cell." that was the beta's voice. As the footsteps got louder, I closed my eyes, trying to mentally prepare myself for my death. A light breeze blew in my direction, which made my body stiffen as the smell of blueberries and honey filled my nostrils, making Rose sigh in contentment.

What is going on?

The sound of the footsteps came to a halt while my entire cell was filled with that divine scent. I slowly opened my eyes as they locked with a pair of stormy grey eyes that were constantly shifting into gold. He was one of the most handsome men that I had ever seen. His hair was as black as the night sky, and his jawline was sharp. As my eyes traveled further down, I noticed how the black shirt he was wearing was straining against his body.

"What's going on, Rose?" I asked my wolf again as my eyes moved up and locked with his again.

"Mate." that word resonated in my head, and even though I wanted to believe it I just couldn't accept that fact.

"If he is our mate, isn't he supposed to feel the bond as well?" I asked Rose while I only saw the emptiness in his eyes as he stared at me.

"She is the rogue. And I must say, she did put up quite a fight." the beta's voice broke me out of my trance as I averted my glance and quickly got up from the floor.

"Open the door," he said in a monotone, and the beta nodded his head and gestured for the warrior, who quickly unlocked the cell. "What's your name?" he asked me as he took slow steps towards me while I pressed myself against the wall. The closer he got to me, I was clearly able to feel his strong aura that was almost consuming me.

He is an alpha.

"She is not going to answer, Arlo. I have tried asking the same question several times, but she is adamant about not answering." the beta said, I expected my supposed mate, Arlo to turn around to acknowledge his beta, but instead, his eyes were locked on mine.

Where have I heard his name before?

"I am not going to ask again. What is your name?" Arlo growled, making me shiver in fear as I looked down at the floor.

I always thought that finding my mate would be the best day of my life. It would be like love at first sight. Where he would have a smile on his face and his eyes filled with adoration and love for me. And how he would wrap his arms around me and whisper sweet nothings in my ear. "I…I just want to leave." I stammered. I didn't even know where that thought came from, but I think it would be better if I left since I could clearly see that my mate didn't look like he was very happy to see me.

"No!" he let out a furious growl, which made me immediately shut my eyes.

"Huh!" I gasped in shock when I felt tingles rush all over my body, and when I opened my eyes, I saw that I was being carried bridal style out of the cell. "Put me down!" I yelled as I hit him in the chest, but it was of no use. He completely ignored me and continued to walk.

"If you keep struggling one more time, I will mark you right now." he threatened, and this made me freeze.

So he does know that we are mates.

I looked behind me when I saw the beta walking with us, but now there was a smirk on his face. I was shocked to see a smirk on that emotionless face, and I didn't even realize that we were already out of the dungeon and that depressing concrete building. "You know I can walk, right?" I asked my mate after a while.

"I don't want you running away," he said. We were walking through the forest when the trees began to clear out, and I saw one of the most beautiful pack houses. It was massive, and as per my calculation, there were almost ten floors in this building. As we walked inside the house, my mate dropped me on the floor.

"I know you feel the mate bond. So why don't you tell me your name first?" he asked me.

"He is our mate for god sake, Bella. Why don't you just tell him our name!" Rose groaned in my head.

"Bella," I mumbled, and a frown appeared on his face.

"Your last name?" he asked me, but there was still not even an ounce of emotion in his tone to show that he cared for me. Does he really even want me? I didn't answer his question, and after five minutes of standing in silence, he turned around to face his Beta.

"Take her to my guest room. I will meet her later," he instructed before he walked out of there. I didn't know what to feel towards my mate. He didn't look like he wanted me.

"Let's go, Luna." the beta said and gestured for me to walk ahead, and that was what I did. When we reached the elevator that was below the staircase, the beta pressed the button, and soon the doors opened. As we walked inside, I turned around to face him.

"What is your name?"

"Jacob Yale," he said with a smile on his face. "Don't you want to know your mate's name?" he asked me.

"I heard you saying his name earlier." I asserted, and he nodded his head.

"Um, what pack is this?" I asked Jacob, and he looked at me with a shocked look on his face.

"So you honestly didn't know what pack border you just crossed, was it?" he asked me, and I shook my head.

"Well, I think you must be the only rogue to cross our border and live to tell the tale, little rogue," Jacob said, and right then, we arrived at our designated floor, and the doors opened. As I walked out, I heard him say the name and this made me freeze.

"Welcome to the Black Knight pack."
