Chapter 32: Bonus Mission
Akuma decided to use his Bonus Mission Coin immediately. Waiting another five years was unacceptable. Besides, even if he failed, there would be no penalty—so there was nothing to lose.
With that thought, he activated the coin.
[The Bonus Mission Coin will now be used up. Do you wish to proceed with this transaction?]
Akuma confirmed without hesitation.
The system interface flashed in his mind:
[Bonus Mission: Eliminate one village Kage before you turn 10 years old.]
Reward: Jonin-level chakra.
Note: Your chakra capacity cannot be increased beyond Jonin level, and you can only use Taijutsu.
Akuma's eyes narrowed as he processed the mission details.
What kind of reward is this?
The fury hit him instantly. Killing a Kage before the age of ten was an insanely difficult task, yet the reward was… this? Just Jonin-level chakra, and worse—it was limited to Taijutsu only.
This reward is absolute shit!
But then, a thought crept into his mind, halting his anger.
Why would the system offer such a useless reward for such a high-risk mission?
Akuma's rage simmered into cold calculation. He thought deeply, connecting the dots, and then—realization struck him like a blow to the chest.
What if… I'm not even born with chakra in the Naruto world?
The theory made too much sense. His body would be that of Akuma from Street Fighter—a being with no chakra network, no natural connection to chakra at all. If that were the case, then the real reward wasn't Jonin-level chakra. The true reward was simply having chakra in the first place.
Akuma clenched his fists, frustration boiling over. He didn't want to believe it, but the possibility felt too real—he was 80% sure he wouldn't be born with chakra in the Naruto world.
If my guess is correct, everything suddenly becomes much harder. Completing the mission without chakra would be a nightmare. The realization hit him like a punch to the gut, and he couldn't hold back his rage.
"Motherfucker! Why doesn't anything ever go according to my plan? Why does everything have to get in my way? Shit!"
His voice echoed into the silence, sharp and raw. But as quickly as the words left his mouth, Akuma froze, realizing he'd spoken out loud. His eyes darted left, then right, scanning the room with sharp, quick glances.
Thankfully, his mother wasn't there.
A wave of relief washed over him. If she had heard that… he didn't even want to imagine the consequences. Getting caught swearing like that would've landed him in serious trouble.
Exhaling slowly, Akuma forced himself to breathe, steadying the storm inside. The rush of anger ebbed, leaving behind a cold, focused determination.
Rage won't solve anything, he reminded himself, only strategy will.
With that thought, he pushed aside his frustration, letting logic take over.
Eliminate a Kage before I'm ten…
The task was daunting, almost absurd. But if he were born with chakra naturally, then the mission—and its reward—would be pointless.
Staring at the mission details, his mind raced through plans, contingencies, and worst-case scenarios.
Akuma was desperately hoping his theory was wrong, but deep down, he already knew the answer. Clinging to false hope would only make the disappointment worse, so he forced himself to accept the harsh reality: he would not be born with chakra in the Naruto world.
If I'm wrong, he thought bitterly, no one will be happier than me.
With that thought tucked away, Akuma shifted his focus. Dwelling on it wouldn't change anything.
His mind turned to the Absolute Dimension Ring. The moment he thought of it, the ring materialized on his middle finger, sleek and weightless. Without hesitation, he focused again—
Clothes of Perfection.
Instantly, clothes appeared on his body. Or rather… he knew they had, though he couldn't see or feel anything. The fabric was completely invisible, intangible even to his own touch. But despite that, there was an undeniable awareness—a subtle shift in sensation, as if the air itself recognized the presence of the garment.
Even in the game, Clothes of Perfection had been a mystery. It was hidden deep within the Hell Jungle, a place so treacherous that even level 100 players had to proceed with extreme caution. The jungle was massive, stretching so far that riding a horse for three days and nights wouldn't take you to its end.
Finding the item was almost impossible. It was invisible, undetectable by ordinary means. The only way to discover it was through sheer, obsessive passion—an adventurer with an insatiable thirst for the unknown, someone deeply immersed in the game's lore. Only then could one even hope to stumble upon it.
Nobody knew what the item truly looked like—not even Akuma. All he'd ever seen was a faint silhouette and its name glowing faintly in his inventory. Beyond that, it remained a mystery.
After briefly examining the items, Akuma thought, With the help of these world items and the power of Akuma from Street Fighter, I might actually have a chance to complete these missions. He quickly dismissed the thought. Both world items vanished, seamlessly returning to his inventory—out of sight, but never out of reach.
One year ago, Akuma had been desperate to know whether world items could be stored back in the inventory after being taken out. The uncertainty gnawed at him for years until he couldn't hold back his curiosity any longer. He had already used Customer Help twice, and after this question, the Customer Help Coin would be gone. Despite saving it for truly critical situations, he decided to use it for this question.
"Can world items be stored back into the inventory after use?"
When the system confirmed, [Yes, world items can be stored back into the inventory at will], Akuma felt an overwhelming wave of relief. He had tried to justify spending the coin by telling himself, I'll get another Customer Help Coin when I accept my next mission anyway. But deep down, he knew it was curiosity that got the better of him.
For now, both items were practically useless. If his mother or father discovered that he was using such items, it would immediately jeopardize his mission—something he couldn't risk. He always exercised extreme caution when interacting with them.
At one point, he thought about waiting until he was 10 years old to start experimenting with the items. But curiosity gnawed at him again, and he decided to test them earlier—just to confirm he could still store them back in the inventory. If the system had said otherwise, he wouldn't have dared to take them out at all.
However, through these small experiments, Akuma gained tremendous insights. The items worked slightly differently from how they functioned in the game, but their core mechanics remained the same. Especially the Clothes of Perfection—its effect of boosting experience gains by 50% was invaluable. It helped him learn the new language of this world faster and significantly accelerated his physical growth and strength development.
Akuma wanted to wear the Clothes of Perfection as often as possible. After all, it was invisible, right? His parents wouldn't notice… or so he thought.
But the moment he wore it around them, they somehow immediately sensed something was off. Their piercing gazes and subtle glances made Akuma's heart race. Panic surged through him, and he hurriedly stored the item back in his inventory.
Convincing his parents it was just their imagination had been incredibly difficult. After that, Akuma vowed never to wear the Clothes of Perfection around them again. If he truly wanted to wear it, he'd have to exercise extreme caution. Luckily, he locked the room, and he knew his parents were outside, talking to each other. This meant he didn't have to worry about them coming in without notice. However, if he made any loud noise, his mother would notice instantly, so he did his best to stay quiet.
After deciding everything, Akuma accepted Mission #2: Destroy All Five Great Hidden Villages.
