Chapter 6: Chapter 6 A Wand Like No Other
A Wand Like No Other
Seo Min woke up on her first morning at Hogwarts to the sunlight spilling through the tall Gryffindor windows. The previous night felt like a whirlwind of feasts, introductions, and cryptic warnings from *the Harry Potter* himself. She stretched in her four-poster bed, the velvet curtains brushing against her arms. For a moment, she considered staying curled up under the blankets and letting the magical castle run itself without her.
But then a knock sounded at her door.
"Seo Min! Wake up!" Jimin's cheerful voice carried through the wood, followed by Namjoon's groggy complaint. "We don't want to be late for breakfast—or worse, Potions!"
Groaning, Seo Min rolled out of bed and got dressed in her new robes. Her fingers lingered over her bag, where the Elder Wand rested. Harry's warning echoed in her mind: *Don't tell anyone. Don't draw attention.*
She sighed, shoving the thoughts aside, and joined the others in the common room.
Jin, looking every bit the older brother of the group, clapped her on the back when she arrived. "Ready for your first day as a Hogwarts student?"
"Nope," Seo Min said dryly, earning a laugh from Hoseok.
"You'll be fine," Namjoon assured her, though his own nerves were evident in the way he kept adjusting his tie.
Together, they made their way down to the Great Hall for breakfast. The long tables were already filled with students chattering about their schedules, the smell of toast and sausages filling the air. Seo Min tried to focus on her plate, but her mind kept drifting to the Elder Wand and the pressure of keeping it hidden.
After breakfast, the group headed to their first class: Charms. The room was bright and airy, with sunlight streaming through high windows. Professor Flitwick, a tiny wizard with an enthusiastic demeanor, welcomed the students with a wave of his wand, causing chalk to dance across the board as he wrote.
"Today, we'll begin with the Levitation Charm!" he announced, his voice high-pitched but commanding.
Seo Min took her seat next to Taehyung and Jeongguk, her fingers brushing against the Elder Wand as she pulled it from her bag. It looked too perfect, its sleek design and intricate carvings practically screaming "I'm not normal."
Jeongguk glanced over. "That's some fancy wand you've got there," he said, his tone light but curious.
Seo Min's stomach flipped. "Uh, yeah," she mumbled, trying to hide it under her sleeve.
Before he could say more, the door opened, and Harry Potter himself stepped into the classroom. The room fell silent, every pair of eyes snapping to the Headmaster.
"Professor Flitwick, may I borrow Miss Seo Min for a moment?" Harry asked.
Flitwick nodded, looking slightly surprised. "Of course, Headmaster."
Seo Min's cheeks burned as she stood, acutely aware of the stares following her. She avoided eye contact with her friends as she followed Harry out of the classroom and into a nearby corridor.
He stopped and turned to her, his expression serious but not unkind. "I've been thinking about what we discussed last night," he began. "About the Elder Wand."
Seo Min tensed, clutching it tightly in her hand. "What about it?"
"You can't walk around Hogwarts with that wand looking the way it does," Harry said. "It's too recognizable. Someone will notice."
Her heart sank. "I don't exactly have a backup wand lying around," she muttered.
Harry pulled his own wand from his pocket, its simple design a stark contrast to hers. "There's a spell you can use to disguise it," he explained. "It won't change the wand's power, but it will make it look like any other. Less conspicuous."
Seo Min frowned. "Why didn't you tell me this yesterday?"
"I wanted to make sure you were ready," he said simply. "Now, repeat after me: *Transfigura Suppresso.*"
Seo Min hesitated but raised the Elder Wand and repeated the words. A soft golden light enveloped the wand, and when it faded, the sleek, carved wood had transformed into something much plainer—a simple, unadorned wand that could belong to anyone.
"Whoa," she breathed, turning it over in her hand. "It actually worked."
Harry smiled faintly. "It's still the Elder Wand, Seo Min. The power hasn't changed. You need to be careful with it—especially in class."
"I know," she said, gripping it tightly. "Thanks, I guess."
He nodded. "Now, get back to Charms before Professor Flitwick docks points from Gryffindor."
Seo Min hurried back into the classroom, slipping into her seat as quietly as she could. Taehyung raised an eyebrow at her but didn't say anything.
"Everything okay?" Namjoon whispered from the row behind her.
"Yeah," Seo Min said quickly, focusing on the feather in front of her.
The rest of the lesson went surprisingly well. Seo Min managed to make her feather float on the first try, earning an approving nod from Professor Flitwick.
"You've got talent," Namjoon said as they left the classroom. "I barely got mine off the desk."
"Beginner's luck," Seo Min replied, though she couldn't help but feel a tiny spark of pride.
The next class was Potions with Professor Slughorn, and things got a little more chaotic.
Hoseok accidentally added too much powdered root of asphodel to his potion, causing it to bubble over and fill the room with a noxious green smoke. Jin and Yoongi immediately jumped up to help, while Jeongguk muttered, "This is why I don't sit next to him."
By the end of the day, Seo Min felt like her brain was going to explode from all the new information. She flopped onto a couch in the Gryffindor common room, groaning dramatically.
"I can't believe we have to do this every day," she complained.
"You'll get used to it," Jimin said, handing her a chocolate frog. "Eventually."
As the group settled in, Namjoon pulled out a piece of parchment and began scribbling notes. Taehyung stretched out on the floor, humming to himself, while Jeongguk tried to teach his pet spider a trick.
Seo Min leaned back, watching them with a faint smile. For all the stress and secrecy, there was something comforting about being surrounded by these boys who already felt like family.
But as her hand brushed against the disguised Elder Wand in her bag, she couldn't shake the feeling that her time at Hogwarts was only going to get more complicated.
