Seireitei, Phoenix Palace
Ōetsu Nimaiya gently swung the hammer in his hand, forging the blade of a Zanpakutō upon the anvil.
With each strike of his hammer, the sword's blade gradually elongated, its form taking shape under his meticulous craftsmanship.
"My lord! That Reiatsu..."
A young girl with neatly braided hair, her right eye obscured by her bangs, looked up with a puzzled expression.
Nimaiya set down his hammer, turning his gaze towards the distance.
"Wasn't it supposed to be sealed in the Zanpakutō Repository beneath the sea?" he muttered, his face filled with surprise.
"My lord, we..." Mera spoke with a lingering sense of dread as she sensed the familiar spiritual pressure.
"Mera, I'll head out first. You take Shijō and the others to inspect the Zanpakutō Repository," Nimaiya instructed, his expression serious.
Then, in a flash of Shunpo, he vanished from sight.
-------
"The stars are already aligning!"
A tender voice rang out, accompanied by a surge of immense Reiatsu. The entire laboratory was enveloped in a tyrannical, bloodthirsty aura.
Yanma, who had appeared weakened just moments before, now stood unfazed, seemingly unharmed.
Countless red veins spread across his body, his skin taking on a metallic silver-gray sheen.
"Roar!"
A monstrous arm, grotesque in form and resembling that of a Menos Grande, let out an eerie bellow.
"Hee hee, this is fun—so much fun!" Yanma's eyes widened with manic excitement as he fixated on Aaron, his expression brimming with glee.
Tokinada observed Aaron from a short distance, letting out a triumphant laugh.
Spreading his hands in mock helplessness, he smirked. "Oh my, Yanma's Zanpakutō has achieved Shikai? You'll never guess its true origins! Hahaha!"
"Come play with me!" Yanma cackled as he lunged at Aaron, wielding his monstrous Zanpakutō.
A deafening explosion erupted beneath them. The laboratory, already on the verge of collapse, trembled violently, its walls crumbling as massive cracks formed underfoot.
"Devour—Taotie Feast!"
Aaron's gaze remained cold and indifferent as he unleashed his Zanpakutō.
In an instant, two enormous black voids manifested within the laboratory, greedily consuming the surrounding Reiatsu and Reishi.
The immense suction power caused laboratory to collapse. Within moments, it was reduced to ruins.
Screams and cries of alarm echoed from the distant Shiba Estate.
"Look! What's happening at the Shiba Estate?!"
"Commander Yamada is in danger!"
"Hurry! Notify the patrol squads immediately!"
"Protect the nobles at all costs! If anything happens to them, we'll be held accountable!"
The gathered staff whispered anxiously among themselves. The Mao Shiba Institute was an elite institution dedicated to serving Seireitei's highest-ranking nobles. Any catastrophe here would bring severe consequences.
"Tch!" Aaron clicked his tongue in irritation, swinging his Zanpakutō. A massive shadow-like blade cleaved through the air.
With an ear-splitting impact, Yanma and his monstrous Zanpakutō were struck and sent flying, shrouding the battlefield in a thick cloud of dust.
However, after a brief moment, Yanma rose once more, completely unscathed.
Glaring at Aaron, he stomped his foot in frustration. "That wasn't fun at all! Yanmaa is angry—angry!"
"Remember this!"
As Yanma's words fell, the grotesque creature beside him underwent a terrifying transformation.
The creature, which had previously only resembled a Menos Grande's arm, evolved into a towering monstrosity—larger than a Gillian. It swiped through the swirling dust and let out a bone-chilling roar.
In the distance, Tsunayashiro Tokinada smirked, his voice dripping with mockery.
"Ah, the legendary battle between you and old man Yamamoto over a century ago—what a sight that must have been! Truly, you are the most monstrous genius in Soul Society's history."
"Well done!" he sneered. "Bankai—Ryūjin Jakka. It only took a few seconds to nearly evaporate all the moisture in Seireitei! Thanks to you, I owe you my gratitude. If you hadn't provoked Yamamoto back then, he wouldn't have activated his Bankai. And if that hadn't happened, the sealed Zanpakutō Repository near Phoenix Palace would have remained hidden."
"Tell me, how else could I have found this Zanpakutō for Yanma? Hahahahaha!"
Aaron ignored Tokinada's taunts, vanishing in an afterimage as he resumed his fierce battle against Yanma.
Tokinada's smirk deepened as he observed the clash.
"Yanma's Hierro and Blut Vene aren't so weak."
A deafening explosion cut his words short. Tokinada stood frozen, his arrogant grin fading as the scene before him sent a chill down his spine.
A gargantuan sword shadow, spanning hundreds of meters, descended from the heavens, cleaving the monstrous entity cleanly in two.
Yanma, who had moments before charged at Aaron, was instantly reduced to ash—only his bizarre severed head remained, spinning midair.
"Impossible!"
Tokinada's voice wavered in disbelief. "How did you shatter Yanma's Hierro and Blut Vene in one strike?!"
"Yanma! Yanma! Open a Garganta!"
Gone was Tokinada's earlier bravado. His face was now contorted in fear as he called out desperately.
"To... Lord Tokinada..." Yanma's voice trembled.
"It hurts... Yanma still wanted to play a little longer..."
With those final words, Yanma's head crumbled into ash, carried away by the wind.
A soft clatter followed—a Zanpakutō, wrapped in white cloth at the hilt, lay silently upon the ground.
At that moment, a black Garganta opened behind Tokinada.
He cast one last venomous glare at Aaron before leaping into the void, vanishing from sight.
Yamada Seinosuke emerged from beneath the rubble, wiping dust from his face before rushing toward Aaron.
"Sensei..." Seinosuke murmured softly.
Aaron turned to him, his voice low and firm. "I'll be back soon."
Then, without another word, he vanished into the Garganta, leaving only an afterimage behind.
