Aaron regarded the effeminate man who approached with an impassive gaze, betraying no hint of emotion.
At that moment, Yamada Seinosuke took a few steps back, tension evident in his posture.
The man smirked as he observed the two before him and spoke with a sneer. "I have waited five hundred years for this day."
"What a waste of breath." Aaron scoffed, unsheathing his Zanpakutō in one swift motion.
The blade in his hand suddenly extended, slicing through the air with a sharp whistle as it struck toward the man.
Just then, a dark silhouette flashed between Aaron and Seinosuke. In an instant, it positioned itself before the effeminate man, blocking the strike.
It was the unconscious child from the operating table moments ago.
Though referring to him as a child was misleading—it would be more accurate to call him a monster.
His head appeared human, but from the neck down, his body was a writhing mass of grotesque flesh, an amorphous sarcoma fused with the skull of a child.
With a deafening clash, the monstrous being stopped Aaron's Zanpakutō in its tracks.
The smirk on the effeminate man's face deepened, his eyes brimming with contempt.
"Aaron, I have been preparing for this moment for five centuries." His voice was filled with seething hatred. "Tonight, you will die knowing exactly why."
"Teacher," Seinosuke spoke up, his voice tense. "That man is Tsunayashiro Tokinada, the current head of the Tsunayashiro family."
A slow smile spread across Aaron's face. He studied the man before him with a look of mild amusement and shook his head.
"Tsunayashiro? If I recall correctly, I killed several members of that family five hundred years ago," he mused. "I was under the impression that the family had been wiped out."
Instead of anger, Tokinada responded with laughter—a sharp, venomous sound. His eyes narrowed like those of a serpent ready to strike.
"As expected of Soul Society's most infamous prodigy. You thought you could eradicate an entire noble house on a whim?" He chuckled darkly. "Foolish."
His expression turned sinister. "I began laying the groundwork for this moment five hundred years ago. Two hundred years ago, when my plan was nearing completion, I eliminated my own wife." His voice dripped with malice. "And as we speak, the assassins I hired should have finished slaughtering every last remaining Tsunayashiro."
He sneered. "Now, there will be no one left to avenge you."
Seinosuke's eyes widened in horror, his mind reeling from the sheer ruthlessness of Tokinada's words.
But Aaron remained unfazed. His expression was unreadable as he spoke in a quiet, detached tone.
"Hikoya," Tokinada suddenly called out.
"Hehehe…" A strange, chilling laugh came from the child-like entity before them.
With the sound of rattling chains, the grotesque mass of flesh beneath the child's head began to change.
An enormous Reiatsu surged forth, thick with malice and bloodlust.
The sarcoma beneath his neck pulsed, glowing in streaks of red, white, and blue.
Moments later, long, sinewy limbs sprouted from the grotesque mass, slowly forming a humanoid shape. When the transformation was complete, a massive sword, wrapped in white cloth, materialized before him.
"Master Tokinada, should Yanmi play with them?" The child struggled to lift the blade, looking to Tokinada for guidance with an eerie innocence.
Tokinada observed Yanma as if admiring a masterpiece. After a pause, he smiled. "Yanmi, he's a new toy I've prepared just for you."
At the word "toy," the creature brightened instantly. "Hahaha! Thank you, Tokinada-sama! Yanmi loves toys! Hehehe!"
"Go," Tokinada commanded, turning his gaze toward Aaron.
The moment the words left his lips, Yanmi let out a burst of gleeful laughter and charged at Aaron, swinging his massive blade.
"Yanmi wants to play! Hehehe!"
The battlefield turned unnervingly surreal.
"Be careful, Seinosuke."
With those parting words, Aaron vanished, leaving only an afterimage as he engaged Yanmi.
BOOM!
As their blades met, dark silhouettes clashed in rapid succession, their movements too fast for the untrained eye to follow.
Tokinada watched the battle unfold, a triumphant smirk playing on his lips. "Yanmi isn't just any child. He is my greatest creation.
Soul Society's most talented genius?" He sneered. "You have no idea what true power is."
"Yanmi, make sure to leave him alive—but take all his limbs."
Seinosuke clenched his fists, dread creeping into his heart. He had never imagined that the mission he took on would bring such devastating consequences to his teacher.
Though he had unwavering faith in Aaron's strength, he couldn't ignore the terrifying energy emanating from Yanmi. The entity possessed the combined powers of a Shinigami, a Hollow, and a Quincy.
"Teacher! Be careful! He—"
Before Seinosuke could finish his warning, a figure hurtled backward at incredible speed, crashing into a nearby wall with an earth-shattering impact.
A cloud of dust and debris filled the air.
When the smoke cleared, Seinosuke's breath hitched.
Yanmi's small frame had been reduced to a broken, twisted form embedded in the shattered wall. His limbs hung limply, his body splayed in an unnatural manner.
Tokinada's self-assured smirk vanished, his expression morphing into one of disbelief.
"H-how is this possible?! Yanmi is perfection! He's supposed to be—"
Aaron cast him a cold, dismissive glance.
"Forced fusion of Shinigami, Hollow, and Quincy traits?" He scoffed. "You certainly went to great lengths."
He stepped forward. "But was it worth it?"
Tokinada stumbled back instinctively, sweat beading on his forehead.
At that moment, an overwhelming surge of Reiatsu erupted from the broken wall.
A childish voice echoed throughout the laboratory.
"Around the stars… Already…!"
