BECOMING GODS

Chapter 11: Escape

Chapter 10

Lana came out of the underground dungeon and sighed in relief. Cole was still holding onto her hand strongly; he hadn't left her hands since they came out of the main cellar.

There was no guard in sight; all the guards had gone to follow the alpha's orders, leaving the dungeon guard free.

Coal and the others stopped to look at Lana; they couldn't just leave like that like it was their house; surely there would be guards up ahead.

Cole already has a plan formulated in his mind just in case things go south.

"Are we out yet?" she asked. She looked around, only able to see shadows with the help of the light shining in.

She could tell some of the prisoners were in animal form, some were in human form,

"Lead me to the wall; let me see if I can break through it," she told Cole, to which he obliged, wondering if it was too late to stop her.

She touched the wall, a brick wall.

She moved back and kicked the wall once, but halfway she slowed down before Cole could stop her.

That was so stupid of her.

"What am I doing?" she asked no one in particular. If she had kicked the wall, it would have alerted the guards up front.

She stopped to think; Cole came up to her and hissed, questioning her.

"If I kick this, it would alert the unwanted party, and we probably might be underground," she explained, pointing at the door.

She watched as Cole's shadow tilted his head to one side before taking her hand.

He hissed again and said one word to everyone.

"Silent"

She knew what he wanted; he wanted everyone to keep silent so they could sneak away.

Cole was having a hard time with his vocal cords.

She didn't know if that would work, but oh well!

With a shrug she allowed Coal to pull her forward. Coal carefully led her and the rest of them out, although some of the others already knew where they would likely pass through because they were conscious when they were brought in, like Coal. They watched for movement, heartbeats, and smell coming towards them.

Coal was from the snake tribe; they were known for their narrow pupil and flashy hair.

They were very quick and could sense people through their body heat. Just like snakes, they had deadly toxins on the fangs; some of the snakes kind could project their toxins from the mouth; they also had toxins in their claws like coal.

Coal was a warrior in his tribe, one of the best and deadliest fighters. He was obviously very handsome, with red hair and red eyes; snake people were one of the most beautiful races on the whole planet, with multicolored hair and slit, sexy eyes, tall and graceful; snake people were naturally seductive.

Coal was motherless, but he had friends who were also warriors, but no one was as strong as he was.

When the chief's daughter came of age, a contest was organized for all the men; they were to fight to win her heart. In order for his desperate friend to win the contest, they had to send him away.

They invited him to a celebration, drugged him, and sold him to Alpha Lucas.

He woke up after hours of unconsciousness only to find himself chained to the wall. Unfortunately, snakes might be lightning-fast and poisonous, but they were naturally lazy, so he could not break out.

He could not break out because he had no reason to.

He breaks out, and then what? He might as well just stay in and be silent.

Well, until now,

Cole looked back at the beautiful blind girl he was holding; in appreciation, he would never forget what she did. He was forever in her debt.

So bad she couldn't hear what he wanted to say because she couldn't understand his language either (which is the hissing). There was a lot he wanted to say and ask but couldn't; this was not the time.

Cole stepped over a small platform; he turned to warn her only for her to stumble over it; he chuckled inside.

How would a girl like that survive when they got out? She was lucky to have him to take her wherever; that's right, he was going back with her; no use going back to the place where he wasn't wanted.

They were back.

He could sense their body heat; wolves sure were one of the hot-blooded tribes.

Just two people were coming through; Cole looked behind him at the others; he could tell that they already noticed the enemies; he nodded at them since they could not understand him and pulled the young lady behind him.

He was amazed when she didn't budge; instead, she stood by his side. He wanted to ask how she knew they were there, but unfortunately, he couldn't.

The unlucky guards rounded the corner and were shocked out of their minds when they saw that all the prisoners escaped.

Before one of them could open his mouth, Lana had flicked her wrist at him.

They dropped to the ground dead, blood trailing out of the area where the knives had stabbed.

Cole looked at her with newfound admiration; well, he didn't expect less from a girl who could kick down doors.

Cole moved, and with the help of his lightning reflexes, he snapped the neck of the other guard.

When he finished, he looked around the place, looking for where to hide the bodies.

Two wolves saw through his plan; they immediately ran to the dead men and took off their uniforms, wore them, and took off their weapons too.

When they were done, the vampires went to feed, and the remaining were swallowed up by the other animals.

You wouldn't blame them; they hadn't eaten since.

Lana at that moment could thank her stars that she couldn't see what had happened.

They continued their journey; they rounded corners, and then they noticed the enemies.

The earthquake had thrown them off guard; the park members were running around, not noticing the group of foul-smelling gangsters making their way out.

The wolves dressed in guard clothes immediately blended in with the crowd, acting according to their uniforms.

Lana noticed a shadow walking by and immediately followed it, releasing Cole's hand; she remembered this woman.

One of the women that had laughed at her earlier.

When the woman rounded a lonely corner, she attacked, taking her clothes and other belongings with her; she quickly wore them, almost getting rid of the foul smell.

When she got back, she didn't notice that the rest had done the same, except for the other nonhuman creatures who could only hide in the shadows.

As they were heading out, they used the opportunity to steal food; Cole, in particular, stole a lot.

Lana also did the same; she took and carefully wrapped as much cake as she could; she loved cakes.

She blindly grabbed liquids and snacks, filling the bags she snatched from a male guest.

They proceeded to run like everyone else to the outside of the park only to stop short when they saw the alpha and two guards coming.
