Baby Princess’ Survival Diary

Chapter 36

Ten years have passed since the day I came to Biherville.

This year was special in many ways.

It’s the year when I turn 15 and go out into the social world to make my debut, and the year the demons awaken.

 [Baby, lips.]

I stopped biting my lip at Driane’s strict words.

This habit was not easily broken.

Serina comforted me by saying that she hadn’t even broken her habit of biting her nails yet, but she was upset whenever she was pointed out.

 [You’re nervous.]

 “A little…”

The movement of the demons began to be felt on the first day of the year.

Driane said it was still at the level of tossing and turning, but the tossing and turning began to occur more and more frequently.

It was safe to say that it would wake up soon.

 – Do you still plan not to inform the Duke, Sir Biherville, and the Young Master?

 “They’ll be worried.”

My father has not let go of tension from the moment he heard the story about demons until now.

I could see that my brother and Jerion were also anxious inside.

But I didn’t want to make them feel more anxious.

“If possible, I think it would have been better if I hadn’t told them that the demons were behind it.”

Father’s wary of demons grew day by day. I could see that he was getting sensitive.

The mansion changed when Driana mentioned that the magical shield helped control the magi a little bit.

It spared no effort to get the support of the Wizard Tower and took care of the mansion’s security, and there were holy stones everywhere in the mansion saying that it was difficult to obtain even with money.

Jerion began to help my father in earnest. When my father started to look for the holy stone, he rushed immediately and gave his hand so that he could somehow obtain it.

For Oraboni, his training time has increased. There was no one comparable to Oraboni’s age yet, but he continued to train at high intensity every day, saying that it wasn’t enough.

In the meantime, he doesn’t miss my training, so I was worried about when he was sleeping.

As the owners of the mansion got up, the servants got up without realizing it.

It’s already been 10 years. The anxiety grew.

I feel sorry to tell them that the demon movement is increasing in this situation.

 – Won’t they be more upset if they find out later?

 Serina’s words were also true.

But it was painful to see my father, brother, and Jerion worry more here.

“I don’t want to make them worry from now on.”

[But it’s better to say it when it’s right before it]

 “Ung.”

Once again, I sighed as I felt the demon’s movement.

There really isn’t much time left now.

 ******

The same is true for debutants, as there isn’t much time left.

 “Lady, how about this dress?”

 “It’s nice.”

“Oh my. Don’t just say you like anything… As expected, would it be better to buy a new dress?”

“It’s all new, but buying new clothes is a bit…”

“Lady is really. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime debutante! I’ll report it to Shane-ssi right away.”

Jessie rushed out of the room before I could stop her.

“I really don’t think I need to buy it.”

I sighed, looking at the forest of dresses.

When I had no intention of shopping, Jerion bought clothes for me every season, and the dressing room was almost full.

The clothes I wore were only comfortable daily clothes, so I had no reason to wear colorful dresses. So it was almost all new.

Even at the tea party, I wore something a little flashy at the beginning and didn’t wear a fancy dress anymore as I continued.

My tea party had a casual atmosphere, so the guests didn’t really care about clothes.

So I wondered if there was a need to buy another new one when there were many new ones.

 – Of course, you should buy it!

Serina firmly said if she had read my mind.

 – If it bothers you, you can match it to a style that’s not trendy.

 “Is that so?”

 – Dresses are armor for knights. Even if it’s dirty and cheap, you’ll have to wear it properly.

I nodded at Serina’s words. While hosting the tea party for five years, I realized that there was such a conflict without knowing it.

I just saw it because the conflict didn’t apply to me, but when I thought it was directed at me, my head hurt.

[You won’t have time to play with me anymore]

 Nadia’s tail drooped.

In the meantime, Nadia almost gave up and continued to talk to Driana, wondering what additional schedules I would have in the future.

[You’re going to be busier than you are now, right? Will you forget me?]

“No. I will make sure to take you for a walk and play. Don’t worry too much.”

When I hugged Nadia in my arms and soothed Nadia, the drooping tail shook gently.

[Don’t forget that Nadia’s essence is temptation. Baby.]

[Hiik! I don’t use it now, you know?]

[I didn’t say that you used your power.]

 [Hiik—!]

I looked at Nadia, who was still not a match for Driane, with a smile.

Serina slowly headed to the balcony.

Serina is spending more time alone these days.

At first, she was happy just to have come out of the holy stone, but now she seems to feel uneasy.

I tried to keep up with my anxiety, but Driana bit my sleeve.

[Just leave it alone. It will take a lot of time to think.]

 “But…”

[It’s been 10 years since she became like this, right? She must have known what that fake has been doing for the past ten years, and it must have been heartbreaking for her.]

Driane’s words made sense, so I just sat on the sofa.

The fake princess was literally running wild.

She was walking more and more excessively, knowing that the demon was soon waking up.

It is basic for her to assault the maids, and she has no mercy for the low-ranking Young Lady.

The Duke of Enotis’ move was also strange, too. He was expanding his business beyond necessity.

In the process, there were over ten small and medium-sized businesses that were forcibly merged or disappeared. Thanks to him, my father worked overtime every day.

“There must be a lot of work to be done after Serina returns to her real body.”

[That’s why she has more thoughts]

A sigh escaped her. It is difficult to tell other people that she has changed her soul, and there is currently no evidence.

 [Lione…]

When I was depressed, Nadia came to me with a hug and an aegyo.

As soon as I held Nadia, who was now smaller than me, in my arms, it felt like my worries had disappeared a bit.

“We’re going to meet a fake princess soon at the debutante, right?”

 [I guess so]

The fake princess is now 25. She was of marriageable age.

She would inherit the title and would have a pick up a son-in-law, but the marriage was still a marriage.

The procedure for divorce was complicated.

Of course, it will be easier to reveal that Serina has been fake so far, but it has not been decided whether to reveal it or not.

So before that, I had to drag out the fake princess somehow.

“There’s no such thing as an attractive offer for the demon to break the contract, is there?”

[If it’s a baby’s soul, the price will come, but that’s not it.]

[If you offer your soul to a demon, it’s the same as becoming his slave.]

“Ung. I don’t do that kind of deal either.”

[There are two ways to make the demons themselves end the contract. Either push the demon to the limit or pay the corresponding price, but think of the former, baby.]

 “Ung.”

 [Lips]

Driane sternly said that when I bit my lip again without realizing it.

I quickly release the strength in my lips.

[It’s not a good habit. You know, right?]

 “Ung…”

I rubbed my lips and nodded.

It was a really bad habit, so I had nothing to say.

It was added in social circles where I have to maintain a poker face.

Serina stopped me several times during tea time, so they didn’t notice.

In the future, I will go into the social world. So it was one of the habits I had to get rid of.

[But these days, it’s decreased a lot. You don’t do it except when you talk about Demon or Serina.]

 “Thank you for the comfort.”

[It’s not comforting, it’s the truth. It’s hard to break a habit. You’re doing well enough.]

Instead of holding Driana in my arms and saying thank you, I nodded.

 *****

 “You’ve grown a lot.”

 “Really?”

I looked at the mirror again at the words of the Duke’s exclusive tailor.

It seemed a little bigger than last year.

I was a little proud, so I straightened my back.

 – That’s right, that’s right. I thought it was a bit big, but as expected.

Driane and Nadia nodded at Serina’s words.

For some reason, my face turned red from embarrassment.

 “How about this design?”

When I received the design draft, Serina naturally looked at the draft from behind me.

 – It’s lame.

The word “lame” was a Serina-style expression, which means bad.

And Serina’s eyes were generally right.

Serina’s expression hardened as she turned to the next draft.

 – It’s more lame.

Without a word, I passed the next draft.

 – It’s a little good, but… I don’t think the color matches you.

The color of the dress was actually red. It would be okay if I changed the color, but it didn’t look like the clothes I would wear even if I did that.

When I turned in the next draft, a beige dress came out. There were few laces and it was simple but elegant.

When I glanced at Serina, she nodded satisfactorily.

 – This is nice. But look at the next one, too.

There were about 10 drafts, so it wasn’t bad to look through them all.

There were many good dresses as I passed the draft.

Maybe it was because it was designed for me, so it all seemed to fit my image.

However, Serina’s high standards failed to keep up and the majority of the dresses fell off.

All that was left was a beige dress and a navy dress.

 – The navy looks fine, but… It might make you look older.

 “Uhm…”

 – Usually, people wear bright dresses for debutante—. But the navy color is pretty, so I think it would be good to make it together. What do you think?

 I nodded at Serina’s words.

I think they were both pretty too.

 “Make me two of these.”

 “Yes, Lady.”

When the tailor went outside, the flying Serina sat on the sofa.

“There’s really not much time left now.”

 “Right.”

It’s only a month until the debutante.

 There’s only a month left.
