Chapter 2: Time To Settle Your Sins
General Carrion came face to face with a god of genocide; he stood there relaxed as he watched the god before he smiled like a psychopath. The god before him looked to be a young male in his twenties, had golden eyes with a red outer ring, dirty bloodied brown hair, and black skin. As if he had burnt alive while standing at four feet and maybe seven inches tall.
He had on a partly destroyed Roman soldier outfit with bits of Spartan gear mixed into it, as a blood gold spear was impaled into the ground beside him. After taking in the god's appearance, Carrion looked around and found he was in a void-like place, although there were licks of flames at times from somewhere.
The god, seeing he had finished up his little look around the place, chuckled a bit before introducing himself.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Orcus; before you ask, we gods take on the appearance of whatever the mortal we meet has a more inclined relation to. I must say, though, the image you have given me… It is rather burnt and unsightly, but given what you did, it fits, wouldn't you think, General Dakota Ves Carrion?"
"Yep, I did burn a lot of people, and I imagine going bye-bye through implosion has some weird effects."
"Minor things, but you're not entirely wrong, though the mortals who came up with that cube stepped into the territory of the gods."
"Okay, so let us move on; what the fuck do you want from me?"
Carrion asked this as he pointed his right index finger at the god Orcus.
"Redemption, Your soul is unfit for any godly realm; not even purgatory wants you mortal. So you shall live out a new life, a life where you MUST save every life you can from a different threat. One that is much more dangerous than squabbling little mortals, you shall be fighting true monsters."
"Sounds troublesome; what's in it for me, though? I could ask for my soul to be destroyed, right?"
"You'll get, let's say, six reasonable requests as this task will be unforgiving, and if you want your soul destroyed. You'd never come back, and your shards will become dust in the god realms. Either way, you make a choice, but living seems more fun, right mortal?"
"You drive a hard bargain, my good sir, so I'll take your little redemption quest."
Chuckling, Orcus waved a hand and made a little RPG character creator appear before Carrion. Then, prompting him to fill it out, he even had stat point distribution like some Dungeons and Dragons characters.

After finishing up his little character creation, he gave him an abnormal amount of stats points due to his total unrecorded kill count. It all added up to one thousand seven hundred and forty-six unrecorded kills, which Orcus thought would be funny, as that is also the total amount of lives he needs to save. Next thing he knew he had vanished in light and to a new world given the god's chuckle.
