Chapter 125: Chapter 125: Project Zero
Azu hovered mid-air, looking down at the soldier Levin sprawled on the rocky ground below.
Levin, no longer confined to his wheelchair, was lying on the ground, his body writhing uncontrollably.
Muscles swelled, flesh expanded, and sharp cracking noises came from within him—his bones were growing rapidly. Occasionally, the bones would protrude visibly against his skin before being quickly encased by the surging flesh.
His clothes were in tatters, shredded by his transformation. Even his pants had given out under the strain, clearly not as durable as the Hulk's famed attire. Thankfully, patches of animal-like fur had begun to sprout across his body, saving him from complete indecency.
Low growls escaped Levin's mouth as he writhed in agony. His head felt as though it was being split apart, and his entire body burned like an inferno.
Unaware of what was happening, Levin had already risen to his feet. In his altered vision, he saw a massive, clawed bear paw press down on a boulder, effortlessly crushing it into fractured pieces.
Staggering backward in confusion, Levin suddenly bumped into something. Spinning around, he instinctively lashed out, his elongated claws carving deep gouges into a nearby tree. Bark flew everywhere as the tree groaned and toppled to the ground.
Flapping sounds filled the air. Levin glanced down and realized his feet had left the ground. His legs, once mismatched—a thick bear limb and a wolf's reversed-jointed leg—had transformed again. Now, both had become the taloned legs of an eagle.
If there had been a mirror nearby, Levin would have seen the monstrous hybrid he had become, combining traits of a bear, wolf, and eagle.
With a guttural roar, Levin somehow managed to regain control over his body. It felt instinctual, as if these abilities were innate, like breathing. Slowly, he withdrew the animalistic traits, reverting to his human form.
Standing tall and muscular, his body resembled a masterpiece sculpted by Michelangelo himself—perfectly proportioned and exuding power.
Well, except for the fact that he was stark naked.
"How do you feel?" Azu asked, watching the now-naked Levin from above.
Levin inspected his hands with amazement. "I feel incredible, sir! My God, how did you make this possible?"
"I feel stronger than I ever imagined. My senses are heightened—I can distinguish thousands of scents, hear sounds miles away, and I'm brimming with energy!"
Azu chuckled. "Congratulations. You're officially a superhuman now."
"These abilities are best suited for the wilderness. Take some time to explore your new powers out here. When the time comes, I'll return for you."
Levin nodded eagerly. "Understood, sir."
With that, Azu turned and streaked away like a blazing meteor.
Levin, standing on a mountain ridge, looked down at the forested expanse below. Excitement lit up his eyes.
"Let's see what I'm capable of... Starting with the wolf form!"
Lowering his stance, Levin's body erupted with coarse gray fur. His muscles shifted and twisted as dagger-like claws emerged from his fingertips.
In mere moments, he had transformed into a mythical werewolf. With a triumphant howl, Levin leapt from the mountain, his figure vanishing into the dense forest below.

"We've arrived, Mr. Arnold."
The sudden voice pulled Arnold from his slumber. The deafening roar of the helicopter's rotors filled his ears.
Through his headset, a bodyguard spoke, "Sir, it's minus forty degrees outside. Please put on your thermal suit before we disembark."
Arnold nodded, donning a thick, insulated suit and an oxygen mask with his bodyguard's assistance. Only after ensuring everything was secure did the bodyguard open the cabin door.
A blinding world of ice and snow greeted Arnold. Shielding his eyes with sunglasses to prevent snow blindness, he bent low and stepped out of the helicopter, swiftly entering a nearby encampment with his guards in tow.
Once inside the heated room, Arnold removed his mask and sunglasses. "What's the situation?"
A researcher rose to his feet. "Sir, starting last week, the Ark began emitting signals of a specific frequency. These signals are extraordinarily strong. We've confirmed they've been transmitted into space and are traveling at an incredible speed."
"And their destination?" Arnold asked impatiently.
The researcher hesitated. "Unknown, sir. However, yesterday, our systems detected the signal passing by Mars."
"Mars?" Arnold spread his arms in disbelief. "You're telling me you can't determine the destination, even after it's traveled that far?"
"Unbelievable! I pour astronomical sums into this project every year, and this is what I get?"
A soft voice interjected.
"Sir, the universe is vast and unfathomable. Humanity is but a speck of dust within it."
Arnold turned to see a strikingly beautiful woman.
"Dr. Audrey," Arnold sighed, "I'm no scholar or expert. I'm just a businessman."
"And businessmen expect returns on their investments. I've sunk countless resources into this project. The least I deserve is the signal's endpoint!"
Suddenly, an alarm blared from a nearby computer.
Arnold's head snapped toward the source. "Now what?!"
Dr. Audrey, golden-haired and green-eyed, stepped past him to the console. After a series of keystrokes, she announced gravely, "Project Zero is showing signs of awakening. It's expelling carbon dioxide and absorbing oxygen."
"Its vital signs are rising. It's waking up."
Arnold froze, then quickly donned his oxygen mask. "Take me to it!"
Dr. Audrey frowned. "That wouldn't be wise, sir. We haven't ruled out its potential hostility."
"I said take me to it!" Arnold roared.
"You have no idea how dire my situation is! The Federation... and that damned caped freak... they've all turned against me!"
"I need Zero to turn the tables!"
After a tense moment, Dr. Audrey relented, nodding to a researcher to escort Arnold.
The group passed through numerous checkpoints, delving deeper into what could only be described as a "structure."
But this wasn't an ordinary building—it was the Ark.
Discovered by Orga Corporation, the Ark was a spacecraft buried beneath polar ice for over 5,000 years.
Orga's cutting-edge exosuit technology had all been reverse-engineered from this very vessel.
And at the heart of it was Zero.
"Just you wait, you caped bastards in New York," Arnold muttered through clenched teeth.
"Zero isn't just about exosuit tech. It's the first extraterrestrial lifeform humanity has ever encountered."
"If we can unlock its secrets and apply them to our exosuits, even Homelander won't stand a chance!"
---
Arnold and his team entered a fortified room. Designed to withstand bunker-busting missiles, the armored walls offered a sense of security.
Beyond a reinforced window, Arnold peered into what looked like a cockpit.
Inside sat skeletal remains clad in thick armor. These figures, larger than any human, had long since turned to bone.
Suddenly, one of the armored skeletons began to glow faintly.
And then, from the back of the armor, an eye opened—a large, unblinking orb that immediately locked onto Arnold's gaze.
Their eyes met.
