Another World Fluffy Cafe

Ch5 - Speaking Honestly

Chapter 5: Speaking Honestly

Taichi, having acquired the Fenrir as a companion, was eager to leave the forest behind. He had no desire to stay in a place where dragons roamed.

So, the destination was the town.

“Hey, Luke! Do you know the way to the town?”

“Town? Of course, I know. You don’t know?”

Taichi felt a bit embarrassed under Luke’s skeptical gaze, realizing that he was quite clueless about taming.

(It can’t be helped; I just arrived in this world…)

He debated whether he should explain that he had been transported here by a cat deity. But would Luke even believe such a story?

(But Luke is my first companion in this world… Alright!)

“Luke, I have something to tell you…”

“W-What is it?”

Taichi leaned forward and confessed everything that had happened so far to Luke.

“…I see, so you’re not from this world. It certainly makes sense now.”

“Really?”

“This is a deep, rarely visited forest. To enter, one has to pass through barriers. Yet you’re so lightly dressed.”

“Ah…”

Hearing Luke’s words, Taichi nodded in understanding. His outfit was the same suit he had worn when he died—barely protective and likely to rip easily.

(So this is indeed a dangerous forest…)

Given this, he was even more determined to get to town as soon as possible. However, another issue arose: Luke was too large. At about two meters tall, it might be difficult for him to enter the town.

“Luke, you might not fit into the town like this… Is there any way to fix that?”

“Hmm? How about this?”

Luke’s body began to shrink rapidly, down to about one meter in height. This size would be similar to that of a large dog and should fit into the town without any problem.

“Great, let’s head to the town—”

“Wait.”

“Hm?”

As Taichi hurried Luke along, the Fenrir barked out.

“I haven’t eaten the dragon we hunted yet.”

“Oh…”

Remembering that Luke had mentioned the dragon looked delicious, Taichi agreed. After all, Luke had helped him… so it felt wrong to make him wait.

With Taichi’s permission, Luke eagerly dug into the dragon meat.

(So he eats raw dragon meat… Impressive.)

As Taichi watched in awe, he remembered he had a cooking skill. Perhaps he could use it to prepare the dragon meat.

(Might as well give it a try.)

Taichi approached Luke and used his skill.

“Cooking with dragon meat.”

A window appeared before him.

《To cook, you need more ingredients. With dragon meat and magic herbs, you can make Dragon Steak.》

“I see, ingredients…”

“You can use a cooking skill too!? I’ve heard that food made by tamers with skills is incredibly delicious…!”

Luke’s eyes sparkled, and his tail wagged enthusiastically. The intense desire to eat created a powerful pressure on Taichi.

It was clear that mentioning the lack of ingredients would be disastrous.

(I hope I can find the magic herbs…)

Looking around, Taichi spotted many unfamiliar plants. There might be magic herbs among them.

“…Alright, Eagle Eye.”

Using the skill to identify the plants, information about them appeared. The names and descriptions of the plants were displayed.

Taichi carefully examined the plants: Healing Herb, Enchanting Mushroom, Bewildering Flower… There were so many, each intriguing.

He observed each one until he found one labeled as Magic Herb.

“This one!”

“Is there something with the magic herbs?”

“If we use this with the dragon meat, we can make steak. Cooking!”

As Taichi gathered the magic herbs and used the skill, his hands glowed and a Dragon Steak was instantly produced. There was no complex process, it happened in an instant.

(And it even comes with a plate.)

In the brief moment Taichi marveled at the convenience, Luke had already devoured the steak. The enticing aroma had proven too irresistible.

“That was quick! …Well, it’s fine.”

“Mmm, that was delicious. Perfect for a warrior like me. You can take the rest of the dragon meat and sell it as materials.”

Apparently, the steak had filled Luke up, and he generously offered advice.

“Is it alright?”

“I’ve heard humans need money. Since you’ve just arrived in this world, you probably need it.”

“Ah, thank you…!”

Taichi’s goal in this world was to run a cat… or rather, a fluff café. He needed to find a location and having extra money was always helpful.

Grateful, Taichi stored the dragon in his magical bag. Although the dragon was much larger than the bag or Taichi himself, it fit in effortlessly.

(This is amazing…)

Even though he had only seen the forest so far, imagining the various magical items like this bag made Taichi excited for what’s to come.
