Ancient Vampire in a Modern World

Under the horizon of the dark sky that was illuminated by countless stars and the moonlight. A bloody scene was presented in the thick as the sound of metal colliding with each other rang out. 

Han Shin was currently holding a metal plate in his arms as he used it as a shield for the incoming arrow while he was rushing towards another prey. In just a matter of time, he had already knocked out five more men. While doing so, the leader who was chasing him felt hopeless which is why he went and fetched a bow as he tried to attack Han Shin. He had grazed Han Shin with his first and second attack which is why Han Shin decided to use a piece of metal as his protection for the incoming arrow. 

Although he was not used to wielding weapons while fighting it does not mean that he couldn't utilize them. He chose to fight using a piece of metal as he found it convenient for the situation. 

After knocking out yet another man the leader was already furious as they can't do anything with a single man. He was getting furious as time passed by while their group were slowly getting plucked out one after another. Their group number had already increased by a lot.

"All of you, stay close to each other and don't let him engage in a fight with you one on one."

Although Han Shin was strong and already knocked out almost ten of them he was not unscathed. He had taken damage as he fought with those and there were wounds all over his body. The damage on him was not that fatal and serious and only the attack of the leader was affecting him. 

He had already tried to stop the bleeding in his wounds using his qi. And was successful he cut the hanging flesh in his lower leg so that it won't hinder his movements. He used one of the combative knives that he had picked up from the unconscious body of a man that he fought with.

When the leader gave up on chasing him to engage in close combat it immediately chose to use a ranged weapon which was his specialization. He was much more proficient in long-range combat rather than close combat but he didn't have the time earlier and immediately rushed towards the area because of his nervousness. He ordered one of his subordinates to pick up his weapon which is a bow. 

Unlike guns and explosives, bows and arrows are not banned but the Union specifically said that modified bows are also banned. But it can be modified to strengthen the bow itself so that it could fit the user's ability; the only modified bows that are banned are those that do not rely on the user's strength or help the user exert more power than what he can exert. Only those special bows that have innate energy in them are allowed and encompass the law that was being enforced. 

He watched helplessly as he saw the old man slowly fighting with his subordinate. The old man kept running away from him and was not engaging in a fight with him. Although his speciality was not close combat he was still at the top of his group which is why he was appointed as their commander and no one tried to disagree with the decision of their organization. 

"Sir this is your bow," a man said as he rushed towards the leader of the camp. He then carried the recurve bow and handed it over to the leader.

Then after picking up his bow which was already modified to suit his strength. He raised the recurve bow in his hand then wore the quiver that contained a bunch of arrows in his back. He pulled out an arrow from the quiver and placed it on the recurve bow as he pointed it towards Han Shin.

An arrow shot out from the recurve bow in the leader's hand as it travelled through the air. Han Shin saw the incoming arrow from afar. He went to the sides to dodge the incoming arrow but it was very fast and it pierced the side of his stomach. It went through because of the force of the attack then as he was going to bear the pain but he saw another incoming arrow. 

The leader shot another arrow and then pulled another arrow from the quiver and he kept doing this course of action again and again. Han Shin was dodging every arrow that was shot out of the leader's arrow. His body was already full of wounds as he kept dodging the continuous barrage of arrows. He didn't slow down as he kept going forward while dodging each arrow that was shot at him. 

Then after that, he went and tried to hide beside a tent but the leader was still able to discern his position. And because the tent was not made up of hard materials it easily pierced the tent and hit Han Shin. From the very start of the leader's attack, he still hasn't missed a single shot; all the arrows that left his bow hit a part of Han Shin. Although only one had caused enough damage to Han Shin it was still commendable that he was able to hit every time he attacked Han Shin.

Then while Han Shin kept going forward he already used one of the unconscious men as his shield but the leader didn't even spare a glance and still attacked Han Shin. The arrow pierced through the flesh of one of his subordinates and directly went through and pierced Han Shin's palm. Han Shin gave up using the body as his shield because he himself didn't want to take the life of someone. He was here to save her grandson and not to kill anyone so he was not a vicious one to kill someone just to save his grandson. But if it is the only way he would do so. 

He then pulled out another batched of needles from his torso and threw it at the surrounding group of people. There were three-person in front of him that we're in a defensive position and were ready to attack him but before they could engage in a fight with Han Shin numerous silver needles flew across the air and landed on their bodies. After confirming that the needle pierced through them Han Shin immediately changed his directions and went to his right. 

He saw a piece of metal on the ground and saw that he could use it to stop the leader's attack which was still attacking him. All this while he bears the pain of being shot by a barrage of arrows as he kept his pace in taking out their group members. 

After he had picked up the metal piece successfully he was finally able to defend himself from the leader's attack. He only needs to pay attention to his feet and other exposed areas as he keeps running forward. He was already near the tree of life which is why he ignored everyone and just kept attacking them using his solver needles that had a paralysing effect. 

More than half of the group have already fallen unconscious under Han Shin's hand. Then as he was going to take a step forward he encountered another bulky man. This man was known as the strongest man in close combat in their camp and if one saw the future they would immediately know that this man was the one who died in Keiji's hand. 

Han Shin engaged in a fight with the bulky man in front of him. He rushed with the shield in his hand and pushed it towards the bulky man which was stopped by its kick. Han Shin flung back and then another arrow was going his way. He hurriedly defended against it and was successful but then a dagger flew out in the air and went towards his direction. 

Han Shin didn't have enough time to dodge the dagger which is why he was hit in the back of his shoulder. He immediately stood up and pulled out a circular thing from the pocket of his shirt. It was the gas bomb that he ordered secretly and this was a banned item. Although there are laws that prohibit the usage of guns and explosives there are still some who sell this in an underground market. It was very hard to obtain for a normal person as almost all organizations were wary of being discovered with an item like that. 

Han Shin was not aware of this as he had cut ties with the worldly affair when he started cultivating. He isn't even aware that his connections have far surpassed that of a president of a normal organization. Han Shin was a cultivator and because of this his friend was also a cultivator and what he didn't know is that a cultivators network and authority have far surpassed that of a normal person.
