All-Class Transmigration: The Strongest Summoner

Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Night Raid on the Camp

The appearance of the elite Gnolls meant that Su Mu was now close to the Gnoll camp.

Looking up at the sky, the twilight was nearly gone, and the shadows in the forest grew increasingly dark as nightfall approached.

For Su Mu, this was a good thing, as the night was more conducive to covert actions, and Abyssal creatures' power was enhanced in the dark environment.

Su Mu continued to advance, the forest around him eerily quiet.

It had been several hours since he entered in the afternoon, and those who were meant to be eliminated had already been taken out. The remaining ones with some strength had likely become as cautious as cats in the dark, no longer easily making a move.

Now was the best time to strike the Gnoll camp. Su Mu quickened his pace, and after twenty minutes, when night had fully fallen, he finally arrived at his destination.

Hidden among the bushes, Su Mu peered through the gaps in the foliage at the nearby Gnoll camp.

It was a clearing in the forest, about the size of two basketball courts, surrounded by a wall made of roughly piled stones, about a meter high.

Facing Su Mu was the main gate, a wooden barrier formed by sharp-pointed wooden stakes tied together.

Behind the gate stood two Gnoll soldiers, holding torches and keeping watch, their eyes vigilantly scanning the surroundings for any movement.

Looking beyond the gate into the camp, a large bonfire blazed brightly in the center, illuminating the entire area.

In the middle of the ground was a stone-built stove, upon which sat a large pot of unknown origin.

The soup inside was boiling, and the rich aroma of meat broth wafted through the air, making Su Mu's stomach growl.

"Damn, it smells so good. Must be lamb, right?" Su Mu rubbed his stomach. He hadn't had a single drop of water since coming in, and he was starving.

However, looking at the dozen or so elite Gnolls gathered around the pot, Su Mu knew that business came first. He would have to endure his hunger for now.

Calming his stomach, Su Mu waited patiently. Finally, a short and compact Gnoll walked out of the only tent in the camp.

His face was more human-like, with a cross-shaped scar at the corner of his eye, giving him an even fiercer look.

Standing at only 1.7 meters tall, he seemed small compared to the other Gnolls, who were well over two meters.

However, as soon as he appeared, the other Gnolls fell silent and automatically made way for him, bowing their heads in submission.

Su Mu immediately became alert and looked closer, his attribute panel appearing.

Skill 3: Frenzy (By sacrificing ten Gnolls, the Gnoll Chief's strength and constitution are doubled for three minutes.)

Description: The Orc tribe will never be slaves.

The level-10 mini-boss had quite impressive attributes and skills—definitely a rare find.

Compared to wild bosses, this one was far stronger, likely due to the special enhancements of the newbie dungeon.

But with such a powerful opponent, things could get tricky.

Su Mu looked at his summoned creatures. The only ones with real combat power were a single Horned Demon Leopard and a level-5 Emerald-eyed Spider. The rest were expendable fodder.

This was one of the downsides of being a summoner—against a strong opponent, having sheer numbers didn't always make a decisive difference.

Of course, this was only temporary. Summoners would become the most terrifying class in the later stages.

In his past life, Su Mu had been a one-man army capable of making every player in the entire online game tremble.

After thinking for a moment, Su Mu decided to play it safe, holding off on attacking until the Gnolls fell asleep.

When the moon was dark and the wind howled, it would be the perfect time to strike.

Making up his mind, Su Mu fell still, like a patient old hunter waiting for his prey to make a mistake, lying motionless in the bushes.

Thanks to his past experiences, Su Mu had incredible patience, a trait indispensable for becoming a strong individual. Those who were impatient would never accomplish great things.

Time slowly passed, and before long, the moon was high in the sky. After a hearty meal, the Gnolls finally showed signs of fatigue, sprawling out across the ground and falling asleep.

The Gnoll Chief had already retreated to his tent and was silent within.

Only two small Gnoll patrol teams remained, led by two elite Gnolls, patrolling the camp.

The night was eerily quiet, save for the sound of their footsteps and the faint crackling of the campfire.

The time had come. Su Mu patted the Horned Demon Leopard beside him, and it slowly stood up. Sharp, three-inch claws extended from its paws.

With a swift leap, it shot forward like a lightning bolt, heading straight for one of the patrolling Gnoll elites.

Su Mu made a gesture, and immediately, a dozen Emerald-eyed Spiders and ten Bloodsucking Bats sprang into action, turning into black shadows, speeding toward the camp.

The battle erupted in an instant. The Horned Demon Leopard's sharp claws pierced the neck of the Gnoll elite, causing blood to spurt out in a single strike, killing it instantly.

The level-5 Emerald-eyed Spider descended from the air, its eight green eyes flashing with cruelty. It stabbed its legs into the back of another Gnoll elite.

With a brutal tear, the Gnoll elite's body was ripped apart, blood splattering everywhere—it was another instant kill.

The noise woke the Gnolls sleeping on the ground, but before they could get up, the Abyssal creatures were already on top of them, launching their attacks.

In this surprise raid, nearly one-third of the Gnolls were killed, a significant success.

Su Mu heard a series of system notifications ringing in his ears, one after another. He quickly muted them, and his level rose to 6.

The raid completed, the remaining Gnolls quickly reacted and stood up to fight back.

Angry roars echoed through the night, and the Gnolls wildly swung their spiked clubs, attacking the incoming enemies.

The close combat meant they no longer had the advantage of surprise, and Su Mu's summoned forces quickly began to suffer casualties.

Seeing this, Su Mu immediately drove the Necromancer's Scepter into the ground.

A deep, black vortex spread out like a tidal wave, quickly engulfing the entire camp. Shadows began to leap out from the vortex.

Ten more Horned Demon Leopards and ten more Bloodsucking Bats appeared, reinforcing Su Mu's army. Their presence instantly overpowered the remaining Gnolls.

Roar—

A fierce, enraged roar came from the tent, and the Gnolls in the area suddenly glowed with a red light.

The red glow covered their bodies, making them appear as if they had been injected with some kind of energy, and their battle power surged.

Several elite Gnolls, seemingly empowered, swung their iron clubs with incredible force, leaping into the air and smashing Bloodsucking Bats into pulp.

An agile figure shot out of the tent, its fist raised high like a taut bowstring. With a powerful punch, it crushed the skull of a Horned Demon Leopard.

The figure spun mid-air and landed a whiplash kick on another Horned Demon Leopard.

The sickening sound of cracking bones echoed as the Leopard cried out in pain, its body sent flying into a tree, blood pouring from its wounds as it died.

Su Mu's eyelids twitched. He quickly reached for his Necromancer's Scepter and activated his equipment skill—Necromantic Enhancement.
