Chapter 17
A photo was displayed on the screen, with Mu Ci as the central figure. His face, unmistakably his, portrayed an incredibly sensual expression, one he had never seen on himself. He was entirely unclothed, and it was evident that he was engrossed in the company of another man.
“You, when did you take these photos?” As Mu Ci regained his senses, he attempted to snatch the phone but was gently pushed away by Gu Huai.
“Of course, it was taken last night. I only intended to keep them for my own enjoyment, but I didn’t expect they would come in handy today.”
Gu Huai scrolled through the images one by one, allowing Mu Ci sufficient time to view each. The pictures, marked by his expressions of vulnerability, shyness, and aggrieved, provoked a range of emotions from Mu Ci. His face shifted from pale to crimson, then back to a livid hue.
“You shameless…!” Mu Ci was so incensed that he rushed to grab the phone once more.
Gu Huai effortlessly restrained him and spoke with a sly smile, “Don’t worry, as long as you sign the engagement contract, I’ll erase them all.”
“And if I don’t sign it?”
“Then I guarantee that no matter where you go in the future, whether it’s your coworkers, friends, or neighbors, they’ll all get a glimpse of these charming photographs.” Gu Huai relished in his advantage and oozed self-assuredness, “You know I have the patience and capability to dismantle your life, Mu Ci.”
“You’re utterly despicable!” Mu Ci was so furious that, for the first time, his entire body trembled. “Why would you do this to me?! I’ve never harmed you or provoked you in any way. Why would you…?”
Towards the end of his question, he was almost choking on his sobs, the hoarse tone laden with concealed tears.
In that instant, Gu Huai seemed perplexed, as if speaking to himself, and whispered, “Why am I treating you this way?”
Then he followed with a low, seemingly earnest statement, “Perhaps I’ve genuinely fallen in love with you.”
“I hate you.” Mu Ci responded bluntly, looking at him with repulsion.
Gu Huai responded with an indifferent smile; his gaze unwavering. “That’s not a concern; I already knew.”
Mu Ci had harbored reservations about him all along. Even prior to that intoxicated night, this man had always been vigilant and wary. Gu Huai had already grasped this. He was no longer a young man solely interested in romantic love.
After so many years, he had developed the habit of employing any means necessary to attain what he wanted. Tenderness was just a strategy, as was coercion, and Gu Huai typically chose the most efficient one.
“Will you sign or not?” Gu Huai pushed the engagement document towards Mu Ci and chuckled.
“By the way, I should remind you that if you sign, I will consider you, my fiancée. But if you don’t sign… Have you ever heard of those small brothels from ancient times?”
Mu Ci’s expression altered, and Gu Huai used the opportunity to place the pen in his hand, feigning gentleness. “I don’t wish to treat you in that manner, so please cooperate, alright?”
Gu Huai’s gaze remained steady throughout. He resembled a formidable lion, cruelly playing with his prey in his grasp.
Mu Ci’s throat moved; he lifted the pen with difficulty as if the pen weighted thousand pounds. He finally sighed his name at the bottom of the document, Gu Huai stuck the iron while it was still hot. He also forced Mu Ci to put his fingerprint as well.
Mu Ci almost used all his strength to hold himself up, his voice seemed very weak and squeezed out of his chest, “Delete the photo…”
“Wait a minute. There is another thing I want to ask.” Gu Huai was satisfied after confirming the signature, he looked up at Mu Ci, “Who is Ji Yunshu?”
“….” Mu Ci turned his head indifferently, “It has nothing to do with you.”
“Oh…” Gu Huai’s face was filled with confusion, but his next words was cold like an ice, “It’s doesn’t matter, of course, no matter who he is. He has been dead for many years and can’t come to save you.”
Mu Ci’s body shook and was affected by this big blow.
His movement made Gu Huai felt jealous and deliberately said another cruel thing, “I guess his corpse has turned into ashes, right? But if it was buried in the well, maybe a set of withered bones can be found….”
Gu Huai’s words were interrupted when Mu Ci picked up a paperweight and threw it at him, “Shut up!”
This was the first time Mu Ci felt so angry to hit someone with the jade paperweight, the thing flew past Gu Huai’s ear and hit the bookcase behind him heavily, making an earth-shattering sound.
Gu Huai narrowed his eyes in displeasure. This man from six hundred years ago who appeared in Mu Ci’s mind and dream made him very unhappy and jealous.
If possible, Gu Huai wanted to send someone to check this person’s tomb and dragged this damn Ji Yunshu out in front of Mu Ci to crush all his bones.
“Delete the photo!” Mu Ci didn’t want to mention that bastard Ji Yunshu at all. He stared at Gu Huai and repeated again.
Gu Huai glanced at him then took out his phone. He was about to delete it when Mu Ci suddenly stretched out his hands, “I want to delete them myself.”
Gu Huai was stunned but smiled at him, “I didn’t expect that you could be this cautious. Alright, you can do it yourself.”
The phone finally came into Mu Ci’s hands, he carefully deleted the photos one by one -Gu Huai, a pervert actually took more than a dozen photos!
After finished, he made sure nothing was missing, he checked the photo album again and breathed a sigh of relief.
Gu Huai sat behind the table, waiting quietly for him to give the phone back. unexpectedly, a trace of ruthlessness flashed in the man’s eyes, he actually raised his hand high and smashed the phone onto the floor with a bang.
The phone’s screen instantly fell into pieces and several irregular lines appeared on the solid tiles.
Gu Huai’s eyes widened slightly then he smiled deeply, “So, you are very angry? Just smash it. Have you calmed down?”
Mu Ci said nothing and walked towards him coldly.
Gu Huai remained oblivious to the lethal intent gleaming in Mu Ci’s eyes during that moment.
Instead, he was lost in the joy of signing the engagement papers, and he extended his arms as if to invite an embrace. “What, you want an engagement hug, baby?”
Mu Ci artfully evaded his outstretched hand and seized the engagement document resting on the table.
Gu Huai struggled to follow Mu Ci’s rapid movements, noticing the lightning-quick precision of his hands. It was as if Mu Ci had diligently practiced with sharp implements like throwing knives or palm swords for years.
In any case, Gu Huai was unable to stop Mu Ci in time. Mu Ci successfully obtained the engagement document and forcefully tore it into pieces, which he cast at Gu Huai.
The pristine fragments fluttered gently through the air, akin to a slow-motion scene from a movie. Among the remnants of the engagement document was the word “MU,” the final letter split into two halves.
Gu Huai’s astonishment was brief, and his interest was piqued as he caught Mu Ci’s waist and pulled him close. Teasingly, he inquired, “Changing your mind, are you?”
Mu Ci wrinkled his brow and made an effort to pull his hands from Gu Huai’s grasp. However, his strength was inadequate, particularly within his abdominal region, and he lacked the power possessed by an ordinary man. This made it impossible to escape Gu Huai’s hold once ensnared.
Mu Ci glared at him with fury for a while before stating, “Let me go!”
“No, why would I do that?” Gu Huai flashed a wicked grin and deliberately lowered his hand, squeezing Mu Ci’s buttocks through the fabric of his pants, enjoying the sensation.
Mu Ci erupted in anger and raised his hand to strike Gu Huai. This time, Gu Huai was prepared and easily captured his wrist, pulling him closer. Mu Ci, caught off guard, stumbled and landed in Gu Huai’s arms, his face nearly colliding with Gu Huai’s shoulder.
“You think I can’t control you without those photos, hmm?” Gu Huai taunted. He adjusted the computer screen to face Mu Ci, revealing a mischievous grin, “Do you know what a backup is, Little Prince Mu?”
Mu Ci froze in place. The computer screen was significantly larger, and the explicit photos were conspicuously absent.
“Be a good boy and sign another engagement contract, do you understand?” Gu Huai leaned in close to Mu Ci’s ear, his tone laced with menace.
“But I still need to teach you a lesson… What do you think about sharing these photos with the people in this household for their enjoyment?”
