After the car accident, my boyfriend got straight

Chapter 43

The couple spent some time abroad, exploring every corner near their hotel. Jiang Shiyu and Shen Li had visited these places before, but now Shen Li had amnesia and couldn’t remember much. Their re-exploration felt like discovering everything anew. Jiang Shiyu enjoyed himself immensely, taking full advantage of their anonymity abroad.

They kissed and embraced passionately on the streets, and their nights were filled with intense lovemaking. Jiang Shiyu felt as if he was lost in a beautiful dream that would never end.

As the New Year approached, they returned home. During the festive season, Bai Yun and Shen Qinglin were very busy but managed to find time for a family reunion dinner. Upon learning that Jiang Shiyu’s check-up results were all good, Bai Yun finally felt relieved, and even Shen Qinglin, usually stern-faced, showed a look of contentment.

The weather forecast predicted the biggest snowstorm in nearly ten years for Jiang Hua, lasting a week.

Since Jiang Shiyu was sensitive to the cold and had just recovered, after the Lunar New Year, Shen Li packed their bags and took Jiang Shiyu to the seaside to spend the winter. The Shen family had a seaside villa there. In previous years, Jiang Hua was too cold, so they often flew there for winter.

As they took off from Jiang Hua, light rain mixed with ice particles began to fall outside the window. The cold wind felt like it was cutting into them. Shen Li pushed their luggage ahead, while Jiang Shiyu kept his hands in Shen Li’s pockets to stay warm. Only when they boarded the plane and the warmth of the cabin enveloped them did they start to recover. By the time they landed, the sun was shining brightly, the sky was clear blue, and the weather was pleasant.

At the airport, their driver was already waiting at the entrance to take them to the seaside villa. On the way, Shen Li received a call from Chen Xu, who, upon learning they were on vacation by the sea, expressed extreme envy, lamenting that he would freeze to death in Jiang Hua.

Shen Li held the phone in one hand and held Jiang Shiyu’s hand in the other, gently playing with his soft fingers. Jiang Shiyu, leaning against the window, looked at the coconut trees and coastline outside, his eyes dazzled by the sunlight but his smile undiminished. Shen Li found it amusing to see him looking like a little cat basking in the sun compared to his previous listlessness in Jiang Hua.

Chen Xu continued to whine on the phone. In a good mood, Shen Li casually mentioned that if Chen Xu was feeling cold, he could come to the seaside; the weather was quite nice here.

There was a brief pause on the other end of the line, followed by Chen Xu’s excited shouting, “Dad, is it all-inclusive? Can I stay in your big villa? Can I throw a party at your villa?”

Shen Li pulled the phone away from his ear and frowned, “Don’t go overboard.”

As Chen Xu’s heartfelt pleas echoed on the line, he ended the call.

Jiang Shiyu turned his head, the wind tousling his hair, and his wavy bangs fell over his forehead, making his face look even smaller.

“Is Chen Xu coming over here?” He had heard the conversation on the phone.

Shen Li nodded, “The villa is so big, it would be quite boring just for the two of us. Let him come over and join us.”

Jiang Shiyu had no objections. He then thought of something, took out his phone, and sent a message. A few minutes later, he told Shen Li, “Mu Zi said he also wants to come.”

“I’ll have Chen Xu pick him up and bring him here,” Shen Li said.

Jiang Shiyu’s smile grew even brighter, and his tousled hair made his eyes sparkle with reflected light.

The Shen family’s seaside villa was built right by the ocean, with a private beach right outside the door. It also had an indoor pool, and they could enjoy outdoor barbecues and bonfire parties. The last time Jiang Shiyu visited was during his first year with the Shen family. Bai Yun, fearing he might feel sad about the past while staying in Jiang Hua during the New Year, had taken the family to the seaside for a few days. However, they only stayed for four days and did not have much time to enjoy themselves.

The villa was always kept clean by hired staff, and it had been thoroughly cleaned before their arrival. When they entered the villa, Shen Li brought in two large suitcases, and Jiang Shiyu followed behind. As soon as they entered, Jiang Shiyu took off his outer coat and down jacket, which had been bundled up in layers to keep warm in Jiang Hua but became damp and sticky in the warmth of the seaside.

“Go take a shower; I’ll unpack the luggage,” Shen Li said, knowing he disliked feeling sticky.

Jiang Shiyu wanted to help with the packing, so Shen Li gave him the smaller suitcase and asked him to take the items out and put them in the bedroom.

Jiang Shiyu wheeled the suitcase away, and Shen Li watched his retreating figure with a subtle, unreadable expression.

In the bedroom, Jiang Shiyu opened the black suitcase and spread its contents on the floor. One side contained their sleepwear and toiletries, while the other side held two boxes and three sets of unopened clothes.

He wondered why Shen Li had brought unopened clothes. Were they new purchases?

Curious, he retrieved the packaging bags, sat on the floor, and examined them. The black packaging featured red English letters and an S-shaped logo resembling a woman’s figure.

He picked up the topmost item, unzipped it, and pulled out a piece of clothing. The fabric was silky and laced, and his curiosity grew. This looked like a cheongsam—a black and red one with a high slit and a lace trim on the chest, which didn’t seem like a traditional cheongsam at all.

He stared at it for a few seconds before quickly unwrapping the other two pieces. His face flushed from pomegranate red to tomato red as he saw each increasingly revealing outfit. Even though he didn’t understand much, it was clear what kind of clothing these were.

The sound of footsteps approached the door, and Jiang Shiyu, startled, hurriedly tried to stuff the clothes back into the suitcase. Shen Li opened the door and saw him sitting on the suitcase, with a piece of black lace exposed beneath him. His eyes darkened as he noticed his flushed face.

“You… why didn’t you knock before coming in?” Jiang Shiyu, small and slender, looked out of place sitting on the suitcase. His eyes darted around, as if he had just done something wrong.

Shen Li leaned against the door, his dark eyes gleaming with amusement. “Why should I knock in my own home? Why are you so flustered? What are you hiding behind you?”

As Shen Li approached, he tensed up, feeling like he was facing a formidable opponent. “You, you, you, don’t come closer!”

With no real threat in his words, Shen Li stepped closer and lifted him out of the suitcase effortlessly. Jiang Shiyu, scared, kicked his legs and instinctively wrapped his arms around his neck.

Shen Li’s strong arms easily held him, and no amount of struggling would make a difference.

Glancing at the clothes Jiang Shiyu had tried to hide, Shen Li’s eyes held a mischievous glint. He leaned in and asked, “Did you see all the clothes?”

Jiang Shiyu’s embarrassment was overwhelming, and he couldn’t bring himself to answer him.

“Do you like them?”

Shen Li persistently teased him, and Jiang Shiyu’s round eyes widened with tears forming. “Shen Li, you pervert!”

Even his scolding came out like a sulk, making him unable to resist teasing him further.

“Yes, now you know I’m a pervert? Wasn’t the old Shen Li a pervert too?” he showed no sign of shame, enjoying his self-satisfaction.

“The old Shen Li wouldn’t have bought… bought these things.” Jiang Shiyu’s eyes were red with shame, and he nearly went mad thinking about how revealing the clothes were.

Shen Li held him, lifting him slightly, and said nonchalantly, “Forget it. I know exactly what kind of person I am. I just figured you might have a hard time with your body, so I’ve been holding back.”

Jiang Shiyu, with a red face, remained silent.

For dinner, they ate at home, with the help of a cook. Afterward, Jiang Shiyu wanted to take a walk on the beach, and Shen Li accompanied him.

As the New Year approached, there were fewer tourists, and the long coastline was adorned with lights like stars. The evening breeze, carrying a faint smell of the sea, was so pleasant that it made one feel completely relaxed.

Here’s the translation:

Jiang Shiyu walked a bit and then took off his shoes, walking barefoot on the beach. The sand brushed over his fair, rounded toes, and was blown away by the sea breeze. The fine sand massaged the soles of his feet.

“This place is so comfortable,” he said, spreading his arms to let the sea breeze hit his face.

In Jiang Hua, the winter cold was biting and the sky was always gloomy, which made it hard to feel happy. But now, at the warm seaside, he was like a green plant basking in the sun, gradually unfolding. The recent gloom lifted, and he felt happy and content from the inside out.

Jiang Shiyu squatted down and picked up a huge sea shell, running over to show Shen Li.

“Look at this sea shell; it’s so big! You can even hear sounds if you hold it to your ear.” he was like a curious kitten, interested in everything.

Shen Li smiled as he watched him examine the sea shell, not telling him that such sea shells were often bought by locals and placed on the beach to deceive tourists.

As they continued walking, Jiang Shiyu, holding his treasured sea shell, suddenly said, “A few months ago, I never would have thought that we could walk hand in hand on the beach like this today.”

Shen Li’s heart sank. “Jiang Shiyu, I…”

“I’m not sad or blaming anyone. I’m just reflecting on how unpredictable life is. When I learned that you had amnesia and had only forgotten about us, I felt so desperate. I even hated you for forgetting me. I questioned whether you truly liked me or if you didn’t like me at all.”

Jiang Shiyu looked into the distance, the boundless sea dark under the lights of the distant city and the flow of people.

“Looking back now, I think those thoughts were so childish. Shen Li, the last thing I should have doubted was your feelings for me. During the car accident, if you hadn’t instinctively protected me, you wouldn’t have been so badly hurt. I always blamed the amnesia on you without considering that it wasn’t something you wanted. Shen Li, after everything we’ve been through, we’re still together and can walk hand in hand on the beach and pick up sea shells. I feel so happy and fulfilled.”

He rested his head on Shen Li’s chest, listening to his strong heartbeat and the gentle sound of waves hitting the shore.

After returning to the villa, Shen Li went to take a shower first. The sound of running water came from the bathroom. Jiang Shiyu sat on the carpet, holding his phone, occasionally glancing towards the bathroom door with a distracted look.

After a couple of minutes, seemingly having made up his mind, he secretly opened the chat with Li Muzi and found the shared files from a few months ago. He clicked on one of the study materials he had sent him.

He clicked on one file, and as he looked at the screen, his eyes widened and his cheeks flushed red. Suddenly, he dropped his phone on the carpet, clutching his rapidly beating heart, taking deep breaths.

He had always been a good student with awards hanging on his walls. He had never done anything like this before meeting Shen Li, but he had been influenced by his mischief. Although he had practiced a lot, he had never been exposed to learning materials like this.

Blushing, he picked up the phone from the carpet, his eyes half-closed in embarrassment, peeking at the screen.

When Shen Li came out of the shower, he was wearing only pajama pants, his upper body bare, with water droplets sliding down his chest.

As he had just cooled off, seeing Shen Li’s bare upper body made his face turn as red as a kettle boiling over.

“Why is your face so red? Are you hot?” he asked, puzzled.

Jiang Shiyu stammered, “Uh, yeah, a little hot, I guess.”

“Well, you should go take a shower then, and change into lighter clothes,” Shen Li said.

Jiang Shiyu hurriedly stood up, dropping his phone from his lap. Panicked, he quickly picked it up, afraid of exposing anything. Fortunately, Shen Li’s back was turned, so he didn’t notice his awkwardness.

He walked to the wardrobe, opened the door, and rummaged through his sleepwear. As he searched, he saw the few special clothes he had packed.

He buried his head in the wardrobe, fumbling around. Shen Li, seeing him dawdling, asked, “Can’t you find your clothes? Do you want me to help you?”

Jiang Shiyu quickly stopped him, “No, I… I found them, found them. Don’t help me.”

He said this and grabbed a bundle of clothes from the wardrobe, quickly darting into the bathroom. He didn’t even close the wardrobe door, and Shen Li called after him, urging him to slow down as he slipped on the floor.

Inside the bathroom, with steam still lingering from Shen Li’s shower, Jiang Shiyu’s reflection in the mirror and his flushed face were visible. On the clothes rack, among the bundle of sleepwear, was a special piece of clothing.

It wasn’t a cheongsam, but rather a bunny costume. The black halter neck, low-cut top, accentuated his delicate collarbones, and white pom-poms hung from his chest. The costume had a high slit, exposing more skin than the pom-poms, which was pale and pink from embarrassment, with white fluff at the ankles.

He felt exposed under the bright light, his bunny ears twitching slightly. His eyes were red, and he seemed on the verge of tears from shyness.

“Shen Li, don’t look.”

Unable to bear Shen Li’s intense gaze, he turned to hide, not realizing that the back of the costume was even less covered, exposing his smooth, white back. The black strings hanging from his neck swayed in the middle of his spine, making him look fragile and tempting.

In the bathroom’s foggy light, Shen Li’s gaze on Jiang Shiyu, who looked like a puppet on stage, made the scene even more alluring, intensifying hidden desires.

Jiang Shiyu hesitated, trying to reach for his sleepwear, but as he stretched out his hand, Shen Li suddenly grabbed him and lifted him up from behind, holding him like a child.

He suppressed a scream, feeling a sense of impending danger, like a small animal sensing a threat.

Shen Li, like a wild beast, lowered his head to his neck, his hot breath almost burning his skin. His voice was laced with danger, “Baby, look at the mirror.”

Jiang Shiyu’s mind was in a haze. He was coaxed to look at the mirror, where his reflection showed him being held by Shen Li, half of his body exposed, his curves clearly visible. Tears formed in his eyes.

“Shen Li, let me go. Don’t look,” he pleaded in a voice as soft as a newborn kitten’s. Shen Li remained unmoved, even beginning to touch him.

“Baby, you’re so beautiful. How can you be so white and smell so good? Even though we use the same shower gel, why do you smell so sweet?”

He was completely lost. No matter how Jiang Shiyu struggled or tried to escape, it was useless. The beast had been unleashed, and the innocent little bunny was in for a tough time.

Shen Li, like a madman, licked off every droplet of water, sweat from the steam, and tears, one by one.

Jiang Shiyu tilted his head back, his eyes already hazy. Even the bright white light above him seemed to blend into the white glow, swaying as he wavered into another world.
