A Chaotic World

"Kill them all."

Elder Chang gave the order with a sinister smile, and his men rushed forward without hesitation.

"Fight!" Elder Minshang roared in return, his words immediately echoed by those on his side.

Nanlian Hui quickly brought out numerous weapons from his spatial ring for the freed prisoners. These might be just his spare weapons and could not be considered top tier treasures, but having a weapon was still better than not having one.

The dark prison quickly descended into a state of violence as the two sides clashed. Various combat techniques flew, and blood splattered in numerous locations.

"Nanwei Chang, don't even think about touching my men!" Elder Minshang shouted as he charged directly towards Elder Chang.

"Do you really think you can stop me if I wanted to?" Elder Chang snorted in disdain. "Against someone like you, I don't even need a weapon!"

Elder Chang and Elder Minshang might both be at the Ninth Cycle Origin Core realm, but it was obvious that the former simply did not put the latter in his eyes.

As one's cultivation level increased, the difference between each corresponding level would become greater and greater. At the same time, even those at the same cultivation level would possess capabilities that differ greatly, depending on various factors such as their earlier foundations and paths.

Despite Elder Chang's blatant show of disregard, Elder Minshang's eyes were full of determination as he slashed out with the treasure sabre in his hand.

Elder Minshang was not a fool. He fully understood the difference between himself and Elder Chang just as well. Yet despite that, he did not cower and gave it all that he had got.

Unfortunately, one's intentions did not always translate to their desired results.

Elder Chang easily dodged Elder Minshang's sabre and sent a chop to the latter's hand, forcing Elder Minshang to drop the sabre. Next, he delivered a punch into Elder Minshang's chest, sending him stumbling backwards.

Before Elder Minshang could even regain his balance, Elder Chang's hand was already gripped tightly around his neck. His fingers pierced slightly into Elder Minshang's neck, drawing blood that flowed down towards his chest.

"How pathetic. As the Second Elder of the Frost Guards, aren't you ashamed of youself for such incompetence?" Elder Chang sneered. "It is all because of you people who never strive to improve, that is why the Frost Guards have been stuck where we are instead of advancing and expanding like the other influences out there!"

"Ugh-!" Elder Minshang could only groan in agony as he tried in vain to free himself from Elder Chang's grip.

"Don't worry, I won't kill you, or at least not right now. After all, you can still be used as a tool to lure out the Piercing Wind Overlord," Elder Chang said in a mocking tone. "However, I can't say the same for the rest of them. Why don't we take our time and slowly watch as my men slaughter these fools who were stupid enough to even think about attempting this jailbreak?"

With Elder Minshang neutralised and in his hands, Elder Chang nonchalantly turned his attention towards the rest of the battle.

The battle was mostly going according to how he expected it to. However, there was something took him completely by surprise.

"An Overlord rank treasure?" Elder Chang frowned.

Along the peripheral of the battle, an unfamiliar young man was actually tearing through his men with an Overlord rank treasure sabre in his hands!

What made it even more shocking was that this young man was only at the Fourth Cycle Origin Core realm, yet was able to face off against martial artists two to three boundaries above him.

Was the Overlord rank treasure making up for the difference in cultivation levels?

At this point, Elder Chang's eyes lit up in greed.

He did not know who this young man was, or why he was helping the old faction of the Frost Guards in this jailbreak. But all that did not mattered.

What mattered was that if the young man died in his hands, he would have the right to claim the young man's treasures as his own!

"Go to sleep!" Elder Chang sent a palmstrike into Elder Minshang's chest, knocking him unconscious immediately. After which, he vanished from his spot, heading straight towards the peripheral of the battle.

Lu Tianzi's eyes shone with a silver light as he carefully watched the progress of the battle.

The use of perception was greatly restricted within the prison, so his advantage of possessing an exceptionally strong perception was rendered meaningless here. Thankfully, he still had the Limitless Mirror Eye to help with his monitoring of the situation.

This operation of retaking Frostguard Mountain was full of risks, and he was even separated from Nanlan Qianxue. Because of that, he had been impatient to complete this infiltration mission as soon as possible, so that he could quickly return to Nanlan Qianxue's side. Only then would he be able to personally ensure her safety.

He had already been extremely frustrated when Elder Chang appeared right when he thought they had completed their mission, but now he truly felt like cursing out loud.

"Oh? Not bad!" Elder Chang said in surprise as he appeared before Lu Tianzi. "I have to say that your luck is pretty good at least."

"Young Sir Lu!" Nanlian Hui and Nanguo Lin exclaimed in horror the moment they realised that Elder Chang was targetting Lu Tianzi.

The duo was among the strongest members on their side, and had been dealing with the more troublesome opponents. However, they immediately tried to break away from their current opponents and make their way towards Lu Tianzi.

"It seems like you are pretty important in their eyes?" Elder Chang raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Just who are you?"

Nanlian Hui and Nanguo Lin had not even uttered a word when he was taking care of Elder Minshang, so why were they acting so anxious all of a sudden?

"And who are you?" Lu Tianzi asked in return, his grip tightening around the Fallen Sun. "Are you really part of the Frost Guards? Do you delight in taking the lives of those who were once your comrades?"

The opponent was a Ninth Cycle Origin Core realm who knocked out an opponent at the same cultivation level within a few moves. Even Lu Tianzi was not confident of emerging victorious against an opponent like that, so he could only hope to delay things until Nanlian Hui and Nanguo Lin arrived to help him out.

Elder Chang noticed Lu Tianzi glancing towards where Nanlian Hui and Nanguo Lin were, and could not help but laugh. "How pathetic. Do you really expect them to come save you? Getting rid of you will only take a single moment, so there is no way they can make it in time. Unless... there is some life-saving treasure on you?"

Elder Chang might not know who Lu Tianzi was. But the fact that he possessed an Overlord rank sabre meant that it was highly likely that he had the backing of an Overlord realm powerhouse. Since that was the case, it would not be surprising for him to possess a life-saving trump card of the Overlord rank.

Seein Lu Tianzi remain silent, Elder Chang chuckled. "Then again, it doesn't matter whether you do possess something like that or not."

Origin force gathered around Elder Chang's hands, transforming into a strange energy that was imbued with mysterious world laws. With a clap of his hands, the strange energy from both hands collided and burst out from him, extending towards Lu Tianzi at a shocking speed.

Lu Tianzi tried to retreat the moment he saw this, but the spread of the strange energy was simply too fast. The next thing he knew, the space around Lu Tianzi was already shrouded in this strange energy. All he could do was to shroud his enter body with a defensive layer of origin force, ready to react to whatever came next.

"No!" Nanlian Hui and Nanguo Lin roared in indignance, knowing exactly what Elder Chang was about to do.

"Void Imprisonment!" Elder Chang shouted.

Lu Tianzi felt his surroundings spin, turning into an unrecognisable blur. This was a feeling that he was not completely unfamiliar with.

This was the effect of spatial powers.

The next moment, Lu Tianzi found himself standing in an empty chamber. The prison of the Frost Guards as well as those fighting around him had all vanished without a trace.

The floor, the high ceiling, and the four walls, all of them were dyed in a dull grey colour, making the place seem even more lifeless that it already was.

Across the room, Elder Chang stood there with a triumphant grin on his face. "Welcome to my world."

Lu Tianzi immediately started to pay close attention to his surroundings.

Even without being told, he understood that he had just been forcibly brought into a world that the other party had created.

Such worlds could possess special traits that would catch unsuspecting victims by surprise. So before finding out exactly what kind of world this was, he had to be wary of anything that could happen.

"Well then, if you have any life-saving trump cards, I suggest that you use it now while you still have the chance," Elder Chang spoke in a relaxed manner. "But if you are hoping for the kids to save you, my advice is that you give up on that thought. Now that you are under the effect of my Void Imprisonment, it can be said that we are in a completely different world, and no one out there can even sense our presence. In other words, no one can save you here."

"Is that so?" Lu Tianzi answered solemnly before bringing out the Moon Culler. "I guess that means that I will have to defeat you myself."

He did not doubt Elder Chang's words.

In order to follow them to this world, one would require sufficient comprehensions into the Law of Space or at least familiarity with spatial powers.

On that note, Lu Tianzi had to admit that this Elder Chang was truly something.

Spatial techniques were techniques almost exclusive to Overlord realm powerhouses. Just the fact that he was able to bring Lu Tianzi into this world of his own proved that he possessed an understanding into the Law of Space far beyond that of his peers.

Even Lu Tianzi had only been able to come in contact with spatial techniques due a lucky encounter with the inheritance of a powerful character in Shafeng.

"Oh? Hahahaha!" Elder Chang laughed out loud. "Now that is a response I did not expect! A mere Fourth Cycle Origin Core realm martial artist is actually dreaming of defeating me? Are you saying that because you believe in the strength of that sabre in your hand? I have to admit that it is a really good sabre. However, do you really think that I, the First Elder of the Frost Guards, will not have an Overlord rank treasure of my own?"

As he finished his sentence, a blood red whip appeared in Elder Chang's hands. With a single glance, Lu Tianzi could already tell that the whip was nothing ordinary.

The energy fluctuations... as well as the traces of world laws that were coursing through the whip...

Elder Chang was not lying. Just like Lu Tianzi's Fallen Sun, that whip of his was an Overlord rank treasure as well.

Elder Chang pointed the whip towards Lu Tianzi. "And now, it's time for me to add that sabre of yours to my collection!"
