Yu-Gi-Oh! Reborn As a Dark Signer!

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

"I'm so bored!" A whining girl's voice echoed in the bedroom, the voice itself having a slight reverb to it and making it sound very ethereal.

"Please, shut the fuck up," I responded, burying my face into my book as I lay down in my bed. "I just want to read my fucking book, Pandora."

"But Master, I'm bored!" Her whining grew even louder.

"Then go to the Spirit World and bully Mana or something, I don't care! Just stop making it my problem! Or else, I'll sic Tez on you!"

She let out an 'eep' before she vanished into the shadows… Likely to go to the spirit world and bully Mana.

I let out a tired sigh as I returned to my book, finally relieved of the headache that was Pandora.

My name is Yuno Fuji, a first year student at Duel Academy who got the Isekai treatment and regained my memories when I was six years old.

Oh, Duel Academy, you might say, does that mean you're from Yu-Gi-Oh GX?

Nope, I'm in Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's. Not a bad world to live in by any means… There was just one small problem that came with being Isekai'd to this world…

I put down my book and sat up in my bed, rolling up the sleeve on my Slifer Red jacket and staring at the Jaguar shaped birth mark on my arm.

That was right, I was isekai'd as a Dark Signer. Much like Jack Atlas- I would fucking get into that later- I was born with my birthmark, born a Dark Signer. Which meant that the main cast- Jack, Crow, Yusei- would all be targeting me once the conflict between the signers and the Dark Signers began. Because, knowing Rex Goodwin, he would no doubt direct them towards me as a target.

Luckily, being a Dark Signer did have its perks. Firstly, was my own Earthbound God, Tezcatlipoca. While there was no Jaguar Nazca Lines, Tezcatlipoca was exempt from the rule… Put simply, Tezcatlipoca was to the Earthbound Gods what the Crimson Dragon was to the Signer Dragons.

Much like how the Crimson Dragon was Quetzalcoatl, the Aztec God of Wisdom and Light; Tezcatlipoca was the God of Darkness and Violence and ruled over the Earthbound Gods.

Another perk that came with being a Dark Signer, one who wielded the power of the strongest Earthbound, I also had the power to create cards, as well as see and talk with Duel Spirits. I'd visited the Spirit World before and, with Tezcatlipoca's help, I had recruited various spirits to my cause and fashioned them into Duel Monster cards.

Of course, as you might expect, most spirits turned away at the sight of me due to being a Dark Signer. However, DARK attribute monsters couldn't get enough of me and flocked to me in hoards which made it easy to create and assemble my very own Deck, unseen in the world.

Among the Duel Spirits who joined me was Pandora. She had once been a simple Dark Magician Girl, who learned under Arcana's Dark Magician. However, with my Dark Signer powers fuelling her and granting her even more power, she eventually evolved into Pandora, Mistress of Black Magic.

I'd gotten into Duel Academy, though barely since the Written Test was a lot of Duel Puzzles and I wasn't too good at those. Give me a proper duel and I'd be fine, but solving a Duel Puzzle was a lot for me. Seeing the lines and combos just wasn't something I could do.

Though I had excelled in the practical exam, and had made it into Duel Academy and joined Slifer Red.

Of course, just my luck, I had joined Duel Academy at the same time as Akiza Izinski- or Aki Izayoi if you were more familiar with the Japanese version. I honestly hadn't recognised her without her iconic steel hair curler, which I vaguely recalled was meant to be a suppressant for her psychic powers given to her by Sayer.

Honestly, she was even more beautiful than the anime had depicted her… I found it hard not to stare at her sometimes, partially because I could see Black Rose Dragon looming over her like a silent guardian and glaring at anybody who she thought had bad intentions against her.

She had already started to earn her reputation as the 'Black Rose Witch' in Duels and was being shunned as a result. Though, a few people had tried to approach her, she turned them all away.

I sighed as I turned my gaze to look in the mirror at myself, once again taking in my new appearance… Even after being in this world for eleven years, part of me still couldn't get over the hair.

Yes, as one with the 'Yu' name, I had the spiky hair you would expect of a protagonist. It was nothing on Yugi or Yuya, but it was pretty wild with black and blue… I guess my hair was based on Blueberries… Maybe? I tried not to think about it too hard.

My eyes were green, a sparkling green, which was still a bit striking for me since I once had dulled brown eyes. My face also somewhat reminded me of Yuto from Arc-V? It might have been the spiked up blue hair on the left side of my face… Regardless, I was definitely a Yu-Gi-Oh protagonist in terms of appearance.

I looked down at my Slifer Red Jacket and frowned… "I should follow in Manjoume's footsteps and get a black jacket," I muttered. It might make me look more like an edgelord, but red was not a very flattering colour on me. I was more of a blue and blacks' kind of guy, so the red wasn't doing me any favours.

"Are you internally monologuing again?" A deep voice came from my left, and I turned my gaze to look at the small Jaguar with deep golden eyes floating to my side.

"Sorry Tez," I shrugged at the Earthbound God. "Got a lot on my mind."

"If you have a lot on your mind, then go and Duel," he told me. "Go duel that Signer girl. I don't care if you banish her to the Netherworld or not, but I must continue to prove my superiority over Quetzalcoatl."

"I swear, you have a major hate boner for old Quetz," I rolled my eyes. "Do you want to be the sun that badly?"

"Yes."

"… You're still angry about Red Nova, aren't you?"

"… Yes."

"I mean, to be fair, that was kinda bullshit," I nodded. "Quetz just makes a signer walk out of a fuckin Volcano? Sounds like some sketchy bullshit to me."

"It was bullshit!" He ranted. "I fucking had him and his little signers right where I wanted him with Red Nova, and that fucking shit stain suddenly goes 'by the way, here's a signer who can match Red Nova!' He's a fucking cheater!"

"Well, you have me now," I reminded him. "Can't say I'll help the other Dark Signers though…" Maybe Misty and Carly, but the rest? Nah.

He huffed lightly. "Just make sure you beat Stardust Dragon and Red Dragon Archfiend's owner. I don't care about Life Stream, Ancient Fairy, and Black Rose as much as those two. Those two are Quetzalcoatl's favourites."

"Yeah, yeah," I sighed as I climbed out of bed, stretching and cracking my neck. "Right, let's get going."

"Oh, are you actually going to duel for once?" He asked as he floated beside me. "Who are you going to duel?"

"You wanted me to Duel Akiza," I told him. "I may be lazy, but you are the reason I have a pretty sick Deck and you're my first ally in this world. So, I take your words with a bit more weight than Pandora's."

"Even though you know she wants to mate with you?"

"Yes, even though I know she wants to mate with me," I nodded. "Bros before hoes."

"Unless she's really hot?"

I grinned at him. "And that's why you're my favourite Duel Spirit, you get me."

He snorted in amusement. "Try not to mount Black Rose's wielder too quickly, I rather enjoy the peace and quiet that comes with being in your presence and I have a feeling she might ruin that."

"Yeah, yeah," I snorted in amusement as I slowly left my room and headed towards the Main Campus.

"By the way, when are you going to start participating in those 'Turbo Duels?'"

I rolled my eyes… Turbo Duels in this world were more like the ones you saw in Arc-V, thank god… I had no interest in learning how to use Speed Spells! Though some Turbo Duel based Trap Cards- like Speed Booster- did exist but had been modified for the standard game.

"I'm not exactly rich, Tez," I reminded him. "If I want to make a Duel Runner, I'd have to make one like Yusei does- from scratch and spare parts. And we don't have any Duel Spirits who know anything about technology, otherwise I'd be all for it."

"Hm…" He nodded in acknowledgement with that. "Well, it isn't very important for now. When it becomes relevant, I'll head back to the Spirit World and go to the Machine Empire or the Star Gate to see if I can recruit anybody from either place."

I gave a nod at his words. "Could you also deal with that weird fucking monkey dude who was trying to take over the spirit world last time we were there?" I asked him. "Or he might start causing problems for my spirits since they bow only to me, not him."

"I'll leave him be unless he starts encroaching on their territory," he told me. "In which case all bets are off, and I'll beat his ass so bad that even Cusillu will feel it."

"Fair enough," I nodded without complaining any further.

Honestly, that Ape was lucky that Ancient Fairy Dragon was probably pre-occupied with protecting her allies or he would have been screwed in a straight up confrontation… She was a Signer Dragon for a reason.

"So… A thought occurs, how are you going to find that Signer Girl?" Tez asked me.

I opened my mouth to respond before I paused as I heard an explosion from nearby. "Follow the sounds of chaos."

Tez snorted in amusement but followed behind me.
