You Choose an Adopted Son, I Choose Madness

Chapter 35

Chapter 35: Flipping the Dining Table onto Su Mu:

Su Chen hadn’t intended to say anything. He just wanted to eat his meal in peace. But Su Mu refused to let it go.

Seeing how his sly remarks had made their parents look down on Su Chen even more, and how Su Chen remained silent and endured it all, Su Mu felt a surge of satisfaction. He wasn’t like his second sister, Su Qiqi. He wasn’t afraid of Su Chen losing his temper. In terms of physical strength, Su Chen couldn’t treat him the way he had treated Su Qiqi.

Even Su Qiqi, who had been eating quietly, cast a look of approval at Su Mu. Ever since Su Chen had humiliated her by scrubbing her mouth with a toilet brush, she had wanted revenge. But when she regained consciousness, she realized that even their father, Su Zhenxing, didn’t support her in punishing Su Chen.

After all, in terms of physical strength, Su Qiqi was no match for Su Chen. If she had been, she wouldn’t have been humiliated so easily last time. Without her father’s backing and unable to defeat Su Chen herself, she had to suppress her anger and temporarily abandon her plans for revenge. However, the thought of getting back at him had never disappeared from her heart. She was always looking for an opportunity.

Now, seeing Su Chen being further discredited by Su Mu’s words, and their parents’ clear disapproval of him, Su Qiqi was delighted. It was a small relief for the grudge she had been holding.

Jealous of Su Chen’s popularity among the girls at school, especially his newfound closeness with Chen Rong, Su Mu pushed his advantage further.

“Dad, Mom, since my brother still doesn’t fully understand the taboos and expectations of our Su family, and since you both are so busy, I’d be happy to take an hour every evening after dinner to tutor him. That way, he can learn what he should and shouldn’t do as a member of the Su family.”

“Then, in the future, he won’t bring shame to the Su family…”

Even though Su Mu didn’t finish his sentence, everyone knew exactly what he meant. He was implying that Su Chen was a disgrace.

After saying this, Su Mu gave Su Chen a smug look. Just wait, Su Chen. From now on, I’ll make sure to put you in your place. No matter how popular you are with the girls at school, in the Su family, you will always be beneath me!

Su Zhenxing was overjoyed to hear Su Mu’s words and immediately praised him.

“Su Mu, you are truly sensible! Right now, with your final year of high school being so demanding, you’re still willing to take time to guide your brother. You really understand the bigger picture.”

“If only Su Chen could learn from you—if he could be as mature and responsible as you.”

“Su Mu, you must teach Su Chen well! If you do a good job, I’ll reward you!”

Liu Yanran was even more pleased, feeling immense pride. After all, Su Mu was the son she had personally raised for seventeen years. It was her careful upbringing that had made him so outstanding.

Meanwhile, Su Chen, having lacked her guidance since childhood, had turned out to be such an embarrassment to the Su family.

Liu Yanran frowned at Su Chen.

“Su Chen, aren’t you going to properly thank Su Mu?”

“Do you realize how valuable Su Mu’s time is? He’s the top student at your school! And yet, he’s willing to set aside an hour every day to tutor you.”

“What if this extra hour costs him his first-place ranking?”

“Su Chen, shouldn’t you sincerely thank Su Mu for this?”

Enough was enough.

Su Chen put down his bowl, stood up, and looked directly at Su Mu.

Su Zhenxing and Liu Yanran smiled in satisfaction. At least Su Chen knew to show gratitude—perhaps he wasn’t completely hopeless after all.

Su Mu smirked, waiting to enjoy the moment when Su Chen would bow his head and thank him.

Su Qiqi also stopped eating, her eyes gleaming with excitement. She wanted to etch this moment into her memory so she could savor it later, over and over again.

The previously noisy dining room fell silent.

Everyone was watching, waiting for Su Chen to express his gratitude to Su Mu.

Then, Su Chen suddenly grabbed the edge of the tablecloth and yanked it upward—hard.

Splash!

All the food on the table—steamed custard buns, beef soup, and various greasy stir-fried dishes—flew straight at Su Mu’s face and body.

At the same time, Su Chen roared,

“You can’t even shut up while eating, huh?!”

“Then nobody eats!”

“Nobody eats!”

Su Mu, eyes shut tight, had rice grains stuck to his head, a golden custard bun perched on top, his face drenched in rich beef soup and greasy sauces.

Since he had instinctively tried to stand up to dodge, his entire body had been exposed to the incoming food. From his neck down to his ankles, he was drenched in beef broth and vegetable sauce.

His face and clothes were decorated with yellowish-brown meat slices and green vegetable leaves.

Had he remained seated, he wouldn’t have been this miserable. But alas, he had reacted too quickly.

The moment Su Chen flipped the table, Su Mu’s first instinct had been to escape.

Unfortunately, he had been a step too slow.

Sitting next to him, Su Qiqi was equally covered in soup, meat, and vegetables, from her head down to her flat chest.

She was on the verge of tears.

She had seen it clearly—Su Chen’s table-flipping was aimed at Su Mu.

But just because she happened to be sitting next to Su Mu, she had gotten drenched too.

Was there no justice in this world?!

She hadn’t even provoked Su Chen this time!

Meanwhile, Su Zhenxing and Liu Yanran, who had been sitting across from Su Mu, had luckily avoided the disaster thanks to their seating position.

They stared in shock at the utterly humiliated Su Mu and Su Qiqi, then turned their furious gazes toward Su Chen.

Their rage erupted.

“Su Chen! What do you think you’re doing?!”

“Su Mu was kindly offering to help you, and this is how you repay him?!”

“How could you be so ungrateful?!”

Su Mu opened his eyes, feeling the disgusting, greasy sensation all over his body. His face twitched with fury as he glared at Su Chen.

He instinctively raised a hand to point at him, ready to curse him out.

But then, he remembered the image he had built for himself—caring for his family, gentle and kind.

Forcing himself to stay calm, Su Mu lowered his hand and instead put on a pitiful expression.

“Brother, what did I do to offend you?”

“Was it wrong of me to try and help you understand our family’s values?”

“Brother, I was only thinking of your best interests!”

“As sons of our parents, we shouldn’t bring them shame!”

“We should be bringing them pride!”

Hearing this, Su Zhenxing and Liu Yanran grew even angrier.

Look at Su Mu—so understanding!

Even after being treated like this, he was still trying to guide Su Chen onto the right path!

Fuming, Su Zhenxing pointed at Su Chen and shouted,

“Su Mu is absolutely right!”

“Su Chen, just look at yourself—you’re nothing but a disgrace to the Su family!”

“Su Mu is trying to help you improve, but instead of learning from him, you act out like this? You even flipped the dining table on him?!”

“Do you intend to continue embarrassing the Su family like this?!”

“If you want to disgrace yourself, that’s your problem. But how dare you disgrace the Su family?!”

“Now that you’ve returned to the Su family, I will not allow you to keep humiliating us like this!”
