Chapter 67 - Needing 300 Days of Vacation II
“What’s wrong with Shi Tian?” Wang Yuanchen put his legs on the coffee table.
“This matter is very complicated.” Han Zhuo threw the information over. “This is a rough plan and what you need to do.”
Wang Yuanchen scanned it hastily, and his cynical expression was instantly filled with clouds, with even faint signs of thunder and lightning. He almost roared through gritted teeth, “You want me to get close to him?”
Liu Chunchun shrank his neck and looked at Bai Xi worriedly—what was wrong?
“No one is more suitable than you,” Han Zhuo said. “We must get the data in the shortest possible time.”
Wang Yuanchen threw the information back on the coffee table and said no more, but the resistance and disgust in his heart were clearly written on his face, as if he were facing a swarm of disgusting flies.
“Totally destroying the underground warehouse has always been what we wanted to do, and now is the best time,” Han Zhuo patted his shoulder. “I hope you can consider this matter carefully. Of course, I will never force it. If you agree, will three days be enough?”
While he was talking, Liu Chunchun carefully touched the document from the table, but before he could look at it, the person around him snatched it away. Wang Yuanchen threw the folder into Bai Xi’s arms, then said gloomily, “I’ll think about it.”
Han Zhuo breathed a sigh of relief. Although the two had not known each other for long, he knew that this sentence represented at least an 80% compromise. He was actually a little surprised by the other party’s response, but he didn’t ask any more questions. He nodded and said, “Thank you.”
The atmosphere in the living room was depressing. Liu Chunchun felt that among everyone, he was the only one who didn’t understand what had happened. He was feeling uneasy, but he knew it wasn’t a good time to ask questions, so he didn’t take the initiative to speak until Han Zhuo and Bai Xi said goodbye. However, Bai Xi soon sent a voice message, roughly explaining the whole story.
Liu Chunchun deleted the voice message and looked at the people in the living room again.
Wang Yuanchen was still sitting on the sofa, holding an unlit cigarette between his fingers and saying nothing. After a long time, he suddenly stood up manically, like a trapped animal, seeming to be looking for something to vent his emotions.
Liu Chunchun stood at the door of the bedroom and hesitated. “That…”
Wang Yuanchen stopped and turned to look at him. It was a look that had never appeared before. Cold, indifferent, unruly, blood and hatred surged together in his abyss-like eyes, bringing roaring thunder and lightning and turbulent waves.
This might have been Liu Chunchun’s first time seeing Wang Yuanchen truly angry. He unconsciously took two steps back, wondering whether to call Bai Xi for help.
“What’s wrong with you?” Wang Yuanchen asked, his voice not as cold as his eyes.
“I… it’s time for me to take medicine.” Liu Chunchun was holding an empty water glass in his hand. It was the prop he had been looking for just now, but now he was holding it a little unsteadily.
Wang Yuanchen stepped forward, took the cup away from his hand, went to the kitchen to get a glass of water, brought it back to the bedroom, and handed it over.
“Thank you.” Liu Chunchun sat on the edge of the bed. He was worried and afraid, and his vision drifted. He didn’t have enough courage to look into those scarlet eyes.
“Afraid of me?” Wang Yuanchen asked again.
“I’m sorry.” Liu Chunchun finally raised his head. “I want to help you, but…” But it seemed that he couldn’t do anything. Shi Tian, Wu Zigang, and Liang Yi—these were all people who were too far away from him. Even if he wanted to touch them, they were hundreds of light years apart.
Wang Yuanchen ordered, “Take medicine.”
Liu Chunchun swallowed the pills obediently.
“You don’t need to help me.” Wang Yuanchen put his palm against Liu Chunchun’s forehead. After testing the temperature, he didn’t leave. Instead, he stroked his hand to the back of his head and rubbed his short, fluffy hair. “No matter what happens, keep it up. Just be quiet.”
Liu Chunchun nodded, “Yeah.”
Wang Yuanchen hugged him into his arms and closed his eyes. Every time things got very bad, he needed to do something to divert his attention—like killing his pursuers, drinking alcohol, smashing everything within reach, or hugging this person who was having a fever.
Liu Chunchun sat on the edge of the bed with his face buried in Wang Yuanchen’s waist. It was a rather awkward and uncomfortable hugging position, but he didn’t pull away—whether out of sympathy, fear, or comfort. At this moment, he wanted to do his best to give the grumpy Mr. Ultraman in front of him some warmth and support.
.
“I think,” Bai Xi said as he sat in the car, contemplating his words, “Do you think the relationship between Chunchun and Mr. Wang seems to be getting closer and closer?”
“You don’t need to be so roundabout when talking to me.” Han Zhuo smiled, “I understand what you mean.”
“So?” Bai Xi sat upright alertly, “You saw it too, right?”
“It’s just a little sprout,” Han Zhuo stopped the car at the red light. “This is the most beautiful period, so you can choose not to disturb it and let the person involved slowly discover it on their own.”
“Is this the best time?” Bai Xi grabbed his tie and asked with squinted eyes, “What about us now?”
“We are different from them.” Han Zhuo pulled him closer, leaned in, and kissed him quickly. “Don’t worry, honey. Every day we are together is the best time.”
