You Are Deep in The Stars

Chapter 61 - Cheating Little Star I

Aunt Li was very dissatisfied with the fact that Mr. Han had abducted the young master from home just a few months after he became a bodyguard. She looked back and forth at Bai Xi several times, trying to find some clues that indicated he had lost weight due to hunger, haggardness, lack of sleep, or lack of clothes. However, she failed, and her unhappiness deepened as she returned to the kitchen angrily to continue cooking.

“Xiao Bai,” Han Zhuo said, holding his shoulders. “Mr. Bai and Mrs. Bai are waiting for you in the study.”

“Can you not go with me?” Bai Xi felt complicated and wanted to squat on the ground and hug the railing.

“No.” Han Zhuo suppressed a smile. “Be obedient and come.”

Bai Xi was unwilling to do so and climbed the stairs at almost a snail’s speed.

“What is Brother Bai going to do?” Liu Chunchun asked curiously.

Wang Yuanchen sat beside him with an indifferent expression and did not answer the question. Before the haze caused by the braised pork ribs last time had dissipated, mutton soup was ushered in again. He felt that he needed some time to calm down.

Everyone around him seemed to be full of secrets, so Liu Chunchun couldn’t help but start to think divergently. He felt there must be a serious, deep, and philosophical discussion going on in the study room upstairs at that moment, about the fate of mankind and the future of the earth.

.

“Come.” Mrs. Bai placed the thermos cup into Bai Xi’s hand, her eyes full of expectation and love, and even Bai Boyang, who was always strict with his son, looked very impatient.

Bai Xi stood in the middle of the room, holding the glass of water in his hand and feeling very bitter. He felt like he was back in his childhood. Every time relatives and friends came to the house, he would be called to stand in the living room and perform recitations of ancient poems, modern poems, and English poems with emotion.

Mr. Han leaned against the window, laughing so hard that his shoulders shook with glee, and he was very unsympathetic.

Bai Xi took a deep breath and stared at the water cup resignedly. After only ten seconds, the originally cold water in the cup began gurgling and steaming.

Mrs. Bai was the first to start applauding.

“Mom!” Bai Xi finally couldn’t bear it anymore and felt extremely embarrassed—even though there were people closest to him in the room.

“Okay, look, it’s Dad who insists on watching, so you have to entertain him.” Mrs. Bai took his hand affectionately. “Let’s go downstairs and eat some fruit.”

Bai Boyang: “…”

‘I want to see it?’

“Xiao Bai is really making rapid progress.” After the two of them went downstairs, Han Zhuo finally put away his smile and said to Bai Boyang, “And his mentality is very good. He is not disturbed by his powers at all and is enjoying himself very much in this kind of life.”

“We should really thank Mr. Han for this matter.” Bai Boyang was quite happy but still a little worried. “What about the underground warehouse? Shi Tian doesn’t seem to be making any big moves recently, but there are rumours that he will have many arrests and massacres to come.”

“Don’t worry, Mr. Bai; I will definitely fulfil my responsibility.” Han Zhuo said, “And Shi Tian’s recent target is not Xiao Bai, but other experiments.”

“That’s good.” Bai Boyang breathed a sigh of relief and sighed. “I am already old. I only have one son in the family. I really don’t know what to do to keep him completely away from danger.”

“Xiao Bai would hope that you and Mrs. Bai can enjoy life instead of letting every day be shrouded in the shadow of worry and self-blame because of his affairs,” Han Zhuo said. “He has grown up, is strong and smart, and is fully capable of protecting himself and his family.”

“You speak highly of him.” Bai Boyang said with a smile, his brows finally relaxing a little.

Han Zhuo also smiled, his tone gentle and certain. “He deserves all praise.”

Any father would not feel bad when he heard outsiders praising his son, not to mention the praise coming from Han Zhuo. So that night at the dinner table, Bai Boyang took the initiative to open a bottle of wine and drank a toast with Han Zhuo himself.

“Okay, okay, you have to worry about high blood pressure. Let the young people drink by themselves,” Mrs. Bai said, putting the wine bottle in front of Han Zhuo and complaining with a smile. “Look, when you get home, you make the old man happy.”

Bai Xi held his chopsticks in his mouth and raised his eyebrows at Mr. Han—’What did you say to make my dad so happy?’

Han Zhuo smiled harmlessly, with a gentle and scum-like look on his face, and continued to concentrate on chewing the mutton chops.

Of course, Aunt Li’s cooking skills were not bad, but Mr. Wang soon discovered that he was not used to the greasy lamb chops and the soup sprinkled with coriander and chopped green onions; he was only used to the greasy lamb chops and soup made by Liu Chunchun, which was also sprinkled with cilantro and green onion.

“Don’t want to eat?” Liu Chunchun asked in a low voice. “Give it to me.”

Wang Yuanchen pushed away all the meat in his bowl.

“Do you want green vegetables?” Liu Chunchun asked again.

“How can such a big person only eat vegetables? He will be malnourished.” Before Wang Yuanchen could answer, Aunt Li complained worriedly. “These days, a little girl always wants to lose weight, how can a man lose weight too? Come on, come on, try this.”

Seeing another huge piece of elbow meat flying from the opposite side, Wang Yuanchen’s head buzzed, and he almost flipped the table. Of course, he didn’t flip it in the end, firstly because it was at Bai Xi’s house, and secondly because of Liu Chunchun’s reaction. With great speed, he pressed Mr. Wang down with his left hand, took his bowl with his right hand, and grabbed the piece of meat.

“Thank you, Auntie,” Liu Chunchun said sternly. “He has been taking traditional Chinese medicine recently. He should eat lightly and avoid meat and fish.”

“Really?” After hearing this, Aunt Li observed Wang Yuanchen carefully and felt that his face seemed too pale. She immediately felt distressed and went to the kitchen to make a bowl of light scallop steamed eggs, telling him to eat slowly.
