You Are Deep in The Stars

Chapter 49 - An Unfamiliar Call II

The night outside the window was like water.

Han Zhuo asked, “Have you ever had insomnia like this before? I mean before you discovered the superpower and before you met me.”

“Yes.” Bai Xi nestled in his arms, “When I started my own business in my junior year, I often couldn’t sleep. I used to be too nervous during exams and would wake up all night.”

“Then, how did you solve it?” Mr. Han thought for a while. “Use your Teacher Steve?”

“I noticed you mentioned it often.” Bai Xi squeezed his face with his hands.

“Because I’m jealous,” Mr. Han said frankly. “You actually think it feels better than me.”

“Teacher Steve’s belly is full of goose feathers,” Bai Xi emphasized.

Mr. Han said regretfully, “It really couldn’t be compared.”

“How could I bring Teacher Steve to school?” Bai Xi said with a smile. “After eight years old, it was kept in a cabinet and was only taken out to bask in the sun every summer.”

“It could continue to enjoy that kind of treatment in the future,” Han Zhuo pinched his nose. “And when you have insomnia, I will accompany you instead.”

Bai Xi added, “Teacher Steve could also sing ‘Jingle Bells.'”

Mr. Han suddenly felt a sense of crisis. “Why is it so versatile?”

Bai Xi laughed muffled.

“But it doesn’t matter,” Han Zhuo pressed him beneath him, their foreheads touching each other intimately and ambiguously. His voice was deep and pleasant. “I will also do things that Teacher Steve won’t do.”

Their lips touched each other gently. Bai Xi closed his eyes and took the initiative to wrap his arms around his neck.

He enjoyed his lover’s kiss very much and liked this kind of tender and romantic moment. Even if he knew that when he got up the next morning, there would probably be a lot of burnt chicken feathers on the ground, at least for this night, everything was beautiful.

Han Zhuo gently caressed his back until the man in his arms fell asleep, then turned off the small lamp beside the bed.

Through the thin curtains, it was already bright.

In the next room, Mrs. Zhou had also finished washing. She was a very quiet person. Although she was still anxious and worried, she did not go next door to wake up Bai Xi and Han Zhuo, nor did she call Zhou Jinshan. She just ate the bread and milk alone, and then sat on the bed. While sitting, she looked through the photos of her husband and daughter on her phone.

At 8:30 in the morning, Zhou Yong called on time and asked about his wife’s short trip.

“It’s very good here,” Mrs. Zhou’s eyes sparkled as she said with a smile. “We also ate fish, and we plan to go swimming in the lake today.”

“Don’t always ask your classmates to foot the bill, remember?” Zhou Yong squatted down to put on his shoes. “If you can’t win them over, just buy some gifts for them.”

“I know,” Mrs. Zhou complained. “I don’t have amnesia. How many times have you told me these things?”

“You are not amnesiac; you are just my little darling,” Zhou Yong said with a smile. “Then I will go to work. Please pay attention to your own safety.”

Mrs. Zhou agreed and didn’t move the phone away from her ear until she heard him hang up.

The street was inhabited by nocturnal animals, so it wasn’t until noon that the downstairs gradually became lively. Mrs. Zhou hid behind the curtains and wanted to see how many guests were in the tavern. There were men in well-dressed suits, middle school girls with colourful hair ties, and well-dressed old people being supported by their children. They all had different identities and ages. They looked so well-dressed, but at the same time, they looked in a hurry, anxiety and uneasiness could not be concealed between their brows.

Mrs. Zhou knew that these were her kind, and no matter how prosperous their lives were or how prosperous their years had been, they were destined to be shrouded in the eternal shadow of death.

She felt sadness in her bones.

There was a burst of loud laughter from outside the window. It was a group of gangsters who were deliberately trying to show off their power and attract the attention of the opposite sex on the street.

Bai Xi frowned in his sleep. “What’s going on?”

“It’s nothing; people on the street are just talking.” Han Zhuo covered his ears. “Can you sleep a little longer?”

“Where’s Mrs. Zhou?” Bai Xi was still thinking about this matter.

“She is still resting next door,” Han Zhuo said. “Mrs. Zhou need time to think about the whole thing. We didn’t need to rush over to disturb her.”

“How long do you think she will think about it?” Bai Xi opened his eyes. “With such a weak and unassertive character, she must be very helpless now.”

“She is indeed very weak, but she is also a mother. There would be no weak mothers in this world,” Han Zhuo said. “Even if it was just for Zhou Jing, she would force herself to make the best choice as soon as possible.”

Bai Xi nodded, leaned over, and kissed the side of his face. “Good morning.”

Mr. Han said, “It’s too short for a kiss.”

Bai Xi rolled his eyes and pinched his mouth with both hands.

The quilt was very warm, and the person who had just woken up was also very cute, so cute that if he didn’t do something, it seemed like he would be sorry for this wonderful moment of being both noisy and quiet.

Han Zhuo took his wrist, leaned in, and kissed him gently. Through a thin layer of pyjamas, their bodies were close to each other. Bai Xi moved nervously, turning his head to avoid the other person’s advance, which were becoming more explicit in their request.

The laughter outside the window became more and more arrogant, and they could even clearly hear the content of every sentence. It was vulgar and disgusting, mixed with genitals and obscene jokes, which finally brought the two of them back from the edge of confusion and infatuation.

“Let’s… go next door to see Mrs. Zhou,” Bai Xi said slowly as he moved to the bedside. “It’s already time to have lunch.”

Han Zhuo used the back of his fingers to slide across the side of his face. The agitation in his blood was no less than before, so he suddenly pulled the person back into his arms, leaving a series of deep and shallow kiss marks on his neck.

“I really want to take you home right now,” he said hoarsely.

Bai Xi touched his hair comfortingly. “Be good.”

The mobile phone on the bedside table buzzed, and the caller ID showed Wang Yuanchen.

“Could it be that Chunchun fainted again?” Bai Xi felt a sense of crisis. He pushed Mr. Han away and sat up to answer the phone. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing,” Wang Yuanchen replied. “Wrong number.”

Bai Xi breathed a sigh of relief and asked casually, “Where is Chunchun?”

Mr. Wang glanced at the door, raised his eyebrows slightly, and replied, “He is fine.”

It was all good, except a little silly.

Liu Chunchun was still walking back and forth, pretending to call loudly. “Yes, yes, Brother Bai, I just wanted to inform you that you have fallen out of the top three in my heart… No. 1? No. 1 is of course Mr. Wang, yes, yes, yes, the position is unassailable.”

Wang Yuanchen threw the phone aside and pulled up the quilt to cover his head.
