You Are Deep in The Stars

Chapter 4 - You Must Not Follow a Playboy Like Mr. Han II

When the lights in the bedroom on the second floor went out, Han Zhuo put down the empty wine glass in his hand and turned back to the room to rest. Of course, before that, he also picked a bouquet of flowers from the garden, tied them neatly with ribbons, and placed them on the table. On the first floor…to the door of the housekeeper’s room.

So, in the early morning of the next day, Bai Xi heard Aunt Li complaining as soon as he got downstairs: “Oh, it’s so scary.”

“What’s wrong?” Bai Xi opened the refrigerator door.

“Listen to Auntie, you can’t have this kind of man,” Aunt Li held his hand and said earnestly, “There are too many tricks, and if little girl is too naïve, she will be deceived.”

“Are you watching Korean dramas again?” Bai Xi pulled his hand back with force and comforted perfunctorily, “Okay, okay, the little girl now is very smart and will not be easily deceived.”

“What Korean drama? It’s Mr. Han,” Aunt Li said with lingering fear, “Don’t you know, when I opened the door this morning, oh, there was such a big bouquet of flowers at the door. How could it get there except from him.”

Bai Xi: “…”

Bai Xi said: “Wow!”

“Why does he think I am as easy to coax as those little girls? A bouquet of flowers can give him the kitchen,” Aunt Li said, “Don’t even think about it.”

“Good job,” Bai Xi held her shoulders with both hands, his eyes shining with the sincerity of a revolutionary ally, “But please hurry up and make breakfast, and complain later, I’m really going to be late.”

Aunt Li then noticed the time. As a gold medal housekeeper, she had never made such a stupid mistake, so while blaming herself and feeling guilty, she felt very dissatisfied again, and this dissatisfaction was directly reflected in Mr. Han’s breakfast plate. There was no meat or vegetables, only a bland egg sandwich and a glass of sour grapefruit juice.

“If I had known better, I wouldn’t have sent flowers,” Han Zhuo parked the car at the intersection and smiled at Bai Xi, “It seems that Mrs. Bai is not right. Not every woman can be made happy with flowers.”

“My mother also taught you this?” Bai Xi was amazed.

“She is very powerful,” Han Zhuo looked at the red countdown light ahead but inadvertently glanced at the rearview mirror from the corner of his eye and frowned slightly.

Bai Xi didn’t notice. He had been looking at the information in his hand and preparing a speech for the afternoon meeting.

The car drove through two streets, and Han Zhuo finally confirmed his guess. He said to Bai Xi, “Someone is following us.”

“Following us?” Bai Xi was stunned and looked back, “Who is it?”

“Black, license plate AH786, a very old car,” Han Zhuo said, “It followed us two blocks away.”

“But I’m going to the company for a meeting, and many people know it, so why are they following me?” Bai Xi was puzzled.

“Do you want to get rid of them?” Han Zhuo asked.

“…No need,” Bai Xi hesitated. “It’s not a celebrity affair; am I afraid of paparazzi filming?”

“I have the final say on this matter,” Han Zhuo stepped on the accelerator. “Tighten your seat belt.”

“But -” Before Bai Xi could finish his sentence, the car had already turned onto the highway. As expected, the black car behind them caught up, but it obviously couldn’t keep up with Han Zhuo’s pace. There were too many cobweb-like branch roads in this city. Han Zhuo droves steadily through the streets and alleys, and finally arrived at the company garage five minutes early.

.

Bai Xi sat in the passenger seat, looking at him, more puzzled than shocked.

“Go to the meeting,” Han Zhuo fixed his hair. “Don’t let this affect your mood; today is very important to you.”

“But who would follow me?” Bai Xi still hadn’t thought about it. “This kind of tracking is meaningless at all, or…” He hesitated. “Or, in fact, was the last car accident also related to them?”

Han Zhuo shook his head. “You’re going to be late for the meeting.”

Bai Xi remained still.

Han Zhuo unbuckled his seat belt. “What if they are your competitors at work?”

Bai Xi hesitated. “Are you sure?”

“I’m not sure, but there is a possibility,” Han Zhuo got out of the car, walked to the right side, opened the car door, and bent down. “Mr. Bai, you’re really going to be late.”

“…Okay,” Bai Xi took a deep breath. “We’ll talk about it tonight.”

“Do you want me to accompany you to the meeting?”

“Just wait for me in the lounge,” Bai Xi said. “You can also walk around and see the company’s environment.” While waiting for the elevator, maybe to ease the tension along the way and relax himself, Bai Xi smiled and pushed him. “Also, there is a modeling agency next door. If you’re lucky, there will be many beauties.”

“This is what you must do. Why did you choose your company here?” Han Zhuo joked.

“Wrong,” Bai Xi pressed the elevator button. “I chose this place because the rent is cheap. I had no choice. In the early days, I had to save money.”

The elevator rose steadily to the 18th floor. After the door opened with a “ding,” there was a fragrant breeze. Suddenly, a large group of beauties was walking by, chatting and laughing, with thin waists and long legs, as beautiful as flowers.

Yu Jiong and Wang Xiaosen huddled in the corner, shivering, and were heartbroken.

The life of a rich second generation like Mr. Bai was so extravagant and corrupt.
