You Are Deep in The Stars

Chapter 31 - Hermès Plates Are Flying Everywhere I

As expected, Bai Xi was full of shock, first because of Mr. Han’s magical powers, and second because of the huge garbage dump—he really didn’t want to admit that it was the first time in his life that he felt cool. Teleportation actually brought him to a used plastic bottles and tattered books and newspapers.

Another gust of cold wind blew in his face. This time, in addition to the unbearable smell, there was a coldness like an ice cave that made even the cracks in his bones begin to hurt. Bai Xi couldn’t help but cough twice. Han Zhuo took off his windbreaker, wrapped it around him, and asked, “Is this your…favorite place?”

Although the two of them were in an awkward situation, there was something in his tone—no blame, only confusion and doubt, and even the doubts were extremely gentle.

Bai Xi immediately denied it, saying that he was not the one who liked the garbage dump the most.

Han Zhuo’s eyes turned to the empty mineral water bottle in his hand.

So, Bai Xi felt a little guilty, because before going to the place he liked the most, he did briefly think about where to throw the garbage.

Looking at the other person’s uncertain eyes, Mr. Han couldn’t help but laugh. He could only say, “It won’t be the same next time.”

They could talk about the next time later, but could they leave first this time? After all, the environment was really bad. Thinking of this, Bai Xi hugged Han Zhuo decisively, buried his face in his good-smelling sweater, and said in a sullen voice, “I want to use the bathroom at home. You’re responsible for teleporting us. One, two, three, go!”

Han Zhuo: “…”

The surrounding fields were empty, except for the whistling wind, as sharp as a ghost’s whistle.

Half a minute later, Bai Xi opened his eyes hesitantly and found that he was still standing where he was, still thousands of miles away from the warm and clean bathroom at home.

“Is your superpower malfunctioning?” he asked carefully, his teeth chattering from the cold.

Han Zhuo buttoned up his windbreaker for him: “Only when you’re close to that building can I take you anywhere.”

Only then did Bai Xi understand that there was a space restriction.

But what to do now?

“Come on.” Han Zhuo turned on his mobile phone and illuminated the way, holding him with the other hand. “Watch your step.”

Bai Xi agreed and followed him. After walking for a while, he didn’t know why, but he suddenly wasn’t so depressed anymore, and even felt a little cool—the moonlit night, the huge warehouse like a mountain, the roaring wind, the silent and eerie surroundings. The world seemed to have turned into an illusory upside-down Rubik’s Cube at that moment, everything so inconsistent and unreal, and the only thing he could perceive and trust was the warmth from each other’s palms.

“What are you thinking about?” Han Zhuo asked, “You seem to be in a good mood.”

“Does this look like the end of the world and we’re escaping together?” Bai Xi wrapped his windbreaker tightly. “Or are we preparing to use our superpowers to save the world?”

“I’ve said before that the world doesn’t need to be saved.” Han Zhuo shook his head. “The superpowers have never thought of conquering the Earth, let alone having such powerful abilities.”

“But you can always think about it. The joy in suffering.” After a while, Bai Xi asked curiously, “Aside from little stars and teleportation, what other superpowers do you have?”

“Huh?” Han Zhuo thought for a moment, then raised his eyebrows. “I won’t tell you.”

Bai Xi pouted.

Today’s Mr. Han was an unpleasant and stingy Mr. Han.

.

An hour later, the hike under the moonlight continued. Bai Xi’s cheeks were cold from the wind, and his legs felt like they were filled with lead. The journey was so long that it seemed like it would never end. If it weren’t for his mobile phone’s GPS, he would have almost suspected that he had been teleported to a strange garbage planet.

“You’re so tired from walking. Do you still want to save the world now, Super boy?” Han Zhuo stopped with a smile and squatted down slightly in front of him. “Hop on.”

“…No, no, no need.” Bai Xi was stunned at first, then quickly waved his hand. “It’s so shameful, I’m fine.”

“It will get colder and colder in the second half of the night.” Han Zhuo frowned. “You’ll catch a cold.”

Bai Xi shook his head. “No, I’m not cold at all.”

“You really don’t want to be carried?” Han Zhuo asked again.

Bai Xi still insisted.

“Okay.” Han Zhuo stood up straight and raised his fingers at him again.

“What?” Bai Xi stepped forward cooperatively, thinking he was going to say something, but Mr. Han easily picked him up with one hand and strode out with him in his arms.

“Hey!” Bai Xi was frightened. “Put me down quickly.”

Han Zhuo curled his mouth but did not stop. His arm was like an iron hoop; despite Bai Xi using all his strength, he failed to break free.

“You are just… a perverted and powerful monster.” Bai Xi pulled at his hair.

“Don’t make trouble.” Han Zhuo held his back with his other hand. “You’re about to fall.”

“Wait, wait, wait!” Bai Xi suddenly covered his mouth.

“Huh?” Han Zhuo was puzzled.

“There seems to be someone. Did you hear it?” Bai Xi lowered his voice.

Han Zhuo listened carefully for a long time, but only the wind whimpering in his ears reached him. He shook his head and asked, “Did you hear something?”

“No? Someone seemed to be crying just now,” Bai Xi finished hesitantly. Feeling a bit scared, he said, “Maybe it’s the wind. Let’s go quickly.”

Han Zhuo smiled and continued to lead him toward the exit.

In an inconspicuous place on the wall, several cameras were quietly following the heat source. The dim red halos were like pairs of eyes floating in the night, eerie and bloody.
