A popular guy (72)
"So…"
"This is the place?" Ruvan asked when he saw a large tavern which was full of disciples, who entered and left the place happily.
"Yep, when it comes to beers there is no better place in the entire Sect than this one" Yurie said with a smile.
Upon entering they both found a quite cozy place with tables and chairs everywhere. Several men and women who worked as waiters moved hurriedly carrying beer orders to the different tables.
"I must admit that it has a good atmosphere"
"Right? Here I come with some friends after finishing my work" Yurie said with a smile as she motioned to a waiter to clear a table.
"Yurie! Table for two?"
"Please, Clive"
"It seems like you are a frequent customer…"
"Hehehe… My friends really to like coming to this place" Yurie said with a shy smile while playing with her fingers. Ruvan didn't need many clues about that after seeing how the waiters flirted with the customers.
'Well... At least the bright side of all this is that there are girls too...' Ruvan consoled himself.
"Hey, look"
"What?"
"At the entrance, idiot! Look who is there" Said a disciple who was sitting at a table next to a group of disciples.
"Shit… It's that bastard."
"What's going on? Why are you two whispering as if you were a couple?" Said at that moment a disciple with a Mohican hairstyle who was sitting at the head of the table. Any observant person would quickly realize that this disciple was the leader of the group.
"We're talking about the bastard we told you about, Gino"
"Look…It's him" Said the disciple.
Both disciples were the two that Ruvan had scolded for their mediocre performance during the rescue mission of Yurie and her group.
"Oh… The disciple who is supposedly the Sect Master's apprentice?" The disciple named Gino said as he cast a much more scrutinizing look at Ruvan.
"That's right..."
"We need to teach that bastard a lesson" said the other disciple with a look full of hatred. Since that day the respect that the female disciples had for them had completely evaporated.
"Mmm, sure we will… After all, no one humiliates our gang members so easily"
"However, he's with that bitch Elder Yurie…" Gino said with annoyance.
Yurie had been a headache for all the gangs within the Outer Courtyard. She was a fairly upright and honest person who would never be willing to accept any kind of bribe. Yurie was also the former apprentice of one of the Supreme Elders, so she was basically untouchable within the Outer Courtyard.
"For now, let's just observe…" Gino said with a smile as he ordered another beer.
'With Brother Gino on our side we will surely have our revenge...' The two humiliated disciples internally gloated.

"So you were a former core disciple?" Ruvan asked in amazement after all the core disciples usually ended up going to the Thousand Desires Sect.
"Yes… It was a long time ago…"
"Or maybe do you think I'm not talented enough?"
"No… It's just that, I'm surprised that a former core disciple works as an Outer Court Elder" Ruvan said honestly. No matter how he looked at it, it was too low a position for her.
"Phew… Although I was a core disciple that doesn't mean I could finish my training" Yurie said with a bitter expression.
"You're injured, right?" Ruvan said with a serious expression which left Yurie completely surprised.
"How do you know?"
"I feel that the circulation of spiritual energy to your Dantian is not entirely ideal…" Ruvan said honestly. He was quite sensitive to Yin and Yang energies due to his physique so he was quickly able to notice that something was not right inside Yurie's body.
"That's right… I had a very severe internal injury when I was trying to break through to the Heaven Realm more than ten years ago."
"Since then my cultivation not only has not progressed but has caused me to regress to the second stage of the Earth Realm…" Yurie said with a heavy voice.
"Did you not try any healing method?"
"My Master tried everything but unfortunately all the experts who examined me said the same thing… That my injury was in a too sensitive point, to be more specific at the entrance to my Dantian.
"According to a doctor brought from Medicine Valley, only a Mystical grade pill would be able to cure my injury, otherwise I should know that I would remain like this my entire life."
Ruvan couldn't help but feel bad for the woman in front of him after all she had gone from being a celestial genius admired by everyone to a mere Elder of the Outer courtyard with average cultivation at best.
"I think I have a way to cure you but I would need a little time to prepare the materials" Ruvan said with a serious look.
"Oh really? Are you by any chance a Doctor?" Yurie asked with some interest. Although she had completely lost hope she still wanted to hear what Ruvan had to say.
"Hmm no, but I know some alternative healing methods that I discovered while exploring the tomb of an ancient expert…"
"Although there is no guarantee that they will work, I think that big sister has nothing to lose by trying" Ruvan said with a smile.
Ruvan had learned many of Azkabar's memories throughout his training with the latter's soul fragment. Among one of his memories he talked about the possibility of healing injuries through Dual Cultivation after all Ruvan's Yang Qi was too special compared to that of the rest of the Dual Cultivators.
'If I tell her that all she needs is to Cultivate with me, I'm sure she'll tell me to go to hell, after all, it would seem like I'm just trying to take advantage of her.'
'It would be best to build a relationship before offering to use that method' Ruvan thought to himself as he took a sip of his beer.
"Sure… As long as there is a chance to cure me, I am willing to try" Yurie said with a smile. She didn't know why but she felt that Ruvan really had some method that maybe, just maybe could get her out of the sorry state she was in right now.
"But that doesn't answer my previous question…"
"Why you decided to work as an Outer Court Elder?… I'm sure that with your combat skills you could have even opted for a higher position…" Ruvan asked with some curiosity.
"I just felt like I could help more by being in the outer courtyard than in the inner courtyard…"
"You said you work in the Disciplinary Hall right?"
"That's right… Since the Sect accepts male disciples, the problems within the Sect have only increased."
"The Disciplinary Hall is the Sect's department responsible for investigating and administering justice when a disciple has committed a crime. We are also in charge of resolving conflicts between disciples among many other tasks."
"So, when you see someone wearing this same medallion you better behave" Yurie said while pointing to her silver medallion which hung over her elder's robe.
"Sounds like a fun job huh" Ruvan said dryly as he saw the flames coming out of Yurie's eyes.
'Without a doubt this is a woman who relentlessly pursues crime'
"That's why I like my job. Here I could help protect my sisters from some of those bastards who try to take advantage of them" Yurie said fervently.
"Hey, not all men are so bad."
"Hmph"
"Hahahaha I can't be so sure about it, but you at least you're not as despicable as most I've met" Yurie said while closing one eye. It was undoubtedly a flirtatious attitude of which even herself was not aware.
Just when the atmosphere between the two was making promising progress, they were interrupted by another Sect Elder.
"Yuri!!!
"Damn Yurie! I finally found you…"
"We have problems in the Ninth District." The woman also wore a small silver medallion on her robe highlighting her identity as a member of the Disciplinary Hall.
"Tsskk shit!!"
"I'm sorry Ruvan but I'll have to leave first… I'll treat you this time" Yurie said as he threw a couple of spiritual stones at the waiter who was serving them.
Finally Yurie ended up marching alongside the other Elder, leaving Ruvan completely alone at the table.
'Well… Looks like my night ends early' Ruvan muttered as he left the tavern.
At that moment five people while also leaving the tavern followed Ruvan discreetly.
