Chapter 49- He no longer wants you~
Rio was slightly apprehensive for three days now due to the emptiness beside her. She does not know Haruto's life nor has she specifically ever taken any interest in him but skipping school without any prior notice and even the homeroom teacher didn't announce anything on behalf of his absence, made Rio slightly worried.
What made it more so suspicious was the fact that the student council President, Akira was not coming to school as well for the past three days. It was questionable since someone like Akira who had not even taken a single leave throughout the year, took a leave for straight half a week...
Not once has anyone heard of Akira taking sick leave or anything but why now...
Strangely today the raven-haired president arrived in the classroom carrying a strange aura that no one dared approach her, but if about Haruto then he didn't walk in how much Rio kept looking at the entrance.
The silver-haired third-year has long discerned that Haruto and Akira have some special relationship apart from being just acquainted and by now the whole academy knows the veracity.
Was it because he was so frank with her or maybe Haruto didn't judge Rio just by her outer shell which created a sense of concern in her? Rio was unsure but this feeling was real and vivid.
And to obtain some answers, she knew whom to approach...
[During Lunch break]
"President, please wait a minute."
Akira rolled her eyes in annoyance hearing an unfamiliar voice calling out for her when she had to extract such pivotal information out of a certain redhead.
If not for this, Akira wouldn't have bothered to come to school at all and would have kept on surveliancing all over the place to find Haruto.
She had to halt her feet in the middle of the hallway under varying gazes of the passing students since the raven-haired knew, this voice held the urgency to follow Akira longer than her tolerance could remain intact.
It's better to deal with this right here.
"What?"
Facing the silver-haired girl on whom Akira had made some research recently and the one who was desk neighbor with Haruto was currently panting slightly with a red face.
Before Akira's patience could have worn thin, the said girl finally spoke up, "H-Haruto...huff*...where is he..."
Akira's gaze narrowed upon hearing the name and the question she herself dearly wanted to get answers for. The amusing fact in the matter, this girl wanted to know the thing that Akira was about to obtain if not for the obstruction.
But even if The Council President gets to know Haruto's whereabouts it was highly unlikely she would share it with this strange girl who was getting suspiciously invested in someone who didn't belong to her.
"And how does his presence exactly matter to you?"
By the time Akira's cold voice raised another inquiry, Rio had somehow stabilized her breathing before she replied, unfazed by the cold look she was receiving.
"He's a friend so it's given I would be worried about him. And since I know for sure how deeply you are connected to him, I cannot seek anyone other than President."
The credibility of her probable hunch was high enough to make Akira wonder whether this girl was also spying on people in the shadows or something but considering the background from where Rio comes from, Akira soon dismissed the thoughts and mentally awarded Rio a high observative value.
From Akira's perception, Rio was genuinely anxious about Haruto which made Akira both slightly elated and wary of the girl. Even Akira had forgotten how many times her emotions contradicts whenever Haruto is in question.
"Sigh* listen, as of now I truly know nothing about him but as soon something comes up, I would let you know."
Rio was surely more troubled to hear that even the heiress of Takahashi has no grasp on Haruto's location but she knows when to push someone and when to fall back. And the sincerity in Akira's eyes was enough proof Rio needed, for now.
"Then I will take your word for it."

Akira soon arrived in the council room after inviting Kaede to a tea which the latter accepted readily.
By the looks of it, Kaede seemed rather cheerful and actively responsive signifying that she either was unaware of Haruto's disappearance or she knows where he was
which was allowing her to remain calm.
Akira was leaning toward the second option.
The Council office was abandoned once the Vice President got orders from her superior and the only two left were those who have recently got to interact with each other having a mutual person as a root for their conversation.
Akira sat opposite the redhead who currently was eating cookies with a happy face without a care in the world. When Akira was dying out there in anxiety and desperation this girl was having her time with Haruto, right?
Hahaha... the world is truly unfair.
"Where's he?"
Akira was not a girl to mule over her life and cry her grief. She believes in keeping herself in motion rather than sulking in a corner.
In response, Kaede didn't speak immediately rather she savored the last choco chip cookie on the crockery before dusting off her hands with a small rub.
She was annoyingly slow today... Akira inwardly grumbled.
"Hmmm... I do know where Haru-kun is..." Akira's back straightened as she grew eager to throw the obvious question regarding his whereabouts but Kaede's following words made Akira pause, rendering her mind numb in the process.
"...but unfortunately, he has declined to have any contact with you. Sorry~"
