Xianxia: The Sect Master Is My Girlfriend

Chapter 115: The Honest and Brave Little Gentleman!

“Sleep here?”

Leng Wuyan looked at Li Ran with a face full of suspicion. “You’re not planning on doing anything strange to me, are you?”

Li Ran clutched his chest, looking aggrieved. “Does Master really think so poorly of her disciple?”

Leng Wuyan sighed faintly. “What do you think?”

“Ahem.”

Li Ran awkwardly cleared his throat, then said with a righteous tone, “Your disciple’s reputation for integrity is well-known! Across the Ten Realms, who doesn’t know me?”

“Honest and brave, never greedy, a gentle and dependable young gentleman! With a silver spear sweeping across the world, fearless in the face of danger—that’s me!”

He pounded his chest with confidence. “Master, you must believe in your disciple!”

“… …”

Leng Wuyan covered her face, utterly speechless.

‘I remember Ran’er used to be so aloof and cold. How did he become such a shameless rogue? Hmm… but, well, I suppose I like this cheeky side of him too,’ she thought.

She shot him a sidelong glance and huffed, “Fine, give me a reason why you should sleep here. And it better be convincing.”

“A reason?”

Li Ran thought for a moment, scratched his head, and said, “No particular reason. I just want to spend the New Year with the one I love.”

Leng Wuyan froze.

She had expected him to make up a bunch of half-baked excuses, but he was so straightforward.

‘Welcome the New Year together… with the one you love?’

Her heartbeat quickened, her gaze flickering as her cheeks flushed. She whispered, “You little scoundrel, you really know how to say such tormenting words. I really don’t know what to do with you…”

Li Ran’s eyes lit up. “Then does Master agree?”

Leng Wuyan hesitated for a moment and then nodded slightly, saying, “But let me make it clear—this is just for sleeping! Don’t get any ideas!”

Li Ran nodded furiously. “Rest assured, Master. Your disciple is upright and pure, absolutely straight!”

“Foolish boy.”

Leng Wuyan shot him a glare, but the corners of her mouth couldn’t help curving upward.

“But how… how are we going to sleep?”

Before she could finish, Li Ran had already burrowed into the blanket at lightning speed, patting the empty space beside him. “Master, it’s time to sleep.”

Leng Wuyan shook her head helplessly. “If you put this kind of energy into cultivation, you’d probably have already surpassed the Nascent Soul Realm.”

Though she criticized him, she still shyly made her way to the bed, her face bright red as she lay down beside him.

Li Ran suddenly asked, “Master, aren’t you taking off your clothes to sleep?”

Leng Wuyan, now flustered, replied, “No need. I’m used to sleeping with my clothes on.”

“Alright then.”

Li Ran answered and fell silent.

The golden palanquin became completely still.

Leng Wuyan felt puzzled. Being this obedient didn’t seem like Li Ran’s style.

Suddenly, her body tensed. She felt Li Ran take her hand and pull her closer under the blanket.

“W-what are you doing?”

“It’s cold at night. I’m worried Master might catch a chill.”

“Hmph, even in the extreme cold, I wouldn’t catch a chill. Don’t move around!”

“Understood, Master.”

Leng Wuyan’s face burned as she buried herself deeper under the covers.

A moment later.

“Where are your hands going?!”

CRACK!

“Easy, Master! My arm is going to break!”

“Disobedient disciple!”

The dragon lanterns floated in the night sky, shining brilliantly under the moonlight and stars.

Eastern Sea, Cloud Sword Island.

The grand Ten Thousand Swords Pavilion was ablaze with lights, filled with disciples celebrating Frostfall Festival.

A lone figure, however, stood far from the commotion, alone on a reef.

Yue Jianli raised her head, gazing at the twinkling stars above, her eyes misty with thought.

“I wonder what that scoundrel is doing right now?”

Ever since returning from Five Yang City, Li Ran’s image would often surface in her mind—especially the way he had behaved so boldly toward her.

Thinking about it now still made her body tingle slightly. Yue Jianli’s face reddened as she spat softly, “Even with such high cultivation, he’s nothing but a shameless rogue!”

A trace of worry crossed her gaze.

“That guy disrupted the Demon-Slaying Assembly, beat up disciples from righteous sects, and offended countless people. He even severely injured Chen Zhutian.”

“Although the Sect Master hasn’t said anything about it, many elders and disciples in the sect are displeased with him. They call him the number one devil in defiance of heaven.”

But only she knew—Li Ran was no devil.

Otherwise, why would he have shielded her, an ‘enemy,’ during the collapse of the secret realm?

“If I want to change their opinion of him, I need to become stronger.”

Yue Jianli’s eyes grew determined.

“Li Ran broke through to the Nascent Soul Realm so quickly—it must have taken unimaginable effort. I can’t fall too far behind!”

“One day, I must have the strength to stand as an equal to Leng Wuyan and challenge the rules of the Hidden Gauze Sect.”

A hint of melancholy flashed across her otherwise calm face.

Clang!

Her sword left its sheath, its divine light gleaming brightly.

The dark sea suddenly surged with waves!

“I must break through to the Nascent Soul Realm as soon as possible!”

Li Family’s Secret Grounds.

Li Wuchang looked at the young woman meditating before him and rubbed his temples helplessly.

“Miss Xiao, it’s New Year’s. Can’t you give this old man a break?”

Before leaving, Li Ran had told Xiao Qingge to look for Li Wuchang if she needed anything. She had initially come to visit, but after discovering the Li family’s secret grounds were rich in spiritual energy, she made it a habit to come and cultivate there.

She hadn’t even spared the Frostfall Festival.

Xiao Qingge opened her eyes, exhaled a breath of stale air, and smiled sweetly. “Senior, I was just worried you’d feel lonely spending the New Year alone, so I came to keep you company.”

“Keep me company?”

Li Wuchang snorted. “You’ve been around Li Ran too long and picked up his shamelessness!”

“Hehe.”

Xiao Qingge scratched her head sheepishly.

Li Wuchang rolled his eyes but didn’t press the issue further.

Truth be told, having someone to chat with wasn’t so bad.

This Xiao family girl was sharp and perceptive, and he found her rather likable. So, he didn’t mind letting her cultivate here.

Xiao Qingge glanced at the bright blue sky and sighed softly.

Li Wuchang teased, “What, missing that grandson of mine again?”

Xiao Qingge shook her head. “I’m just wondering what Li Ran is doing right now. He must be working hard on his cultivation.”

“Him? Working hard on cultivation?”

Li Wuchang laughed.

He knew Li Ran too well. That guy never took cultivation seriously.

He was probably off teasing some innocent young woman again.

Xiao Qingge’s gaze grew firm. “I must work even harder! Not to mention catching up to Li Ran, I can’t let Yue Jianli surpass me either!”

Women understood each other best.

The way Yue Jianli looked at Li Ran was no different from how Xiao Qingge herself felt.

She had already marked Yue Jianli as her number one rival.

Once again, she entered meditation, her body glowing faintly with light as the Jade Maiden Rakshasa Sutra operated at full speed.
