Chapter 35: CH: 35 Federal Agents

[Chapter: 35 Federal Agents]

Tessa's childhood was far from idyllic, shaped by a stifling lack of freedom to make her own choices. From a young age, she lived under the suffocating overprotection of her father, Cade. Their family's financial situation was anything but stable—Cade was constantly burdened with the weight of mortgages and mounting expenses. Tuition fees only added to the relentless strain.

These pressures created an environment of constant tension, which accelerated Tessa's rebellious streak. Her defiance emerged earlier than most, fueled by her frustration at being shielded from the world while simultaneously feeling the impact of their struggles. Her circumstances showed no signs of improving, and neither did her rebellious nature, which became an unyielding part of her identity.

Cade discovered that there was a difference between this worn-out truck and the ones he had seen before. As an inventor, his thirst for knowledge was insatiable, and he wanted to understand what was wrong with the broken truck. However, he accidentally activated the truck, and Optimus Prime, who was injured, woke up.

Cade was arguing with Lucas. Lucas shouted, "What, you want to fix him? He is a Transformer, and he is an alien."

"Don't talk nonsense. Go to the hardware store and buy these things, and buy them all," Cade called.

"You might care about it, but what about the others? He is not an electric train. You can't hide aliens in the barn. What do you want to do? Use him as a toy?" Lucas chattered.

"Calm down."

"Calm down? I almost got hit by a ten-foot missile!" Lucas complained and opened the door.

"Listen, you must have missed the news, but did you know that they had even destroyed a city? What about your daughter?"

"Don't say a word to anyone," Cade repeated.

---

In the afternoon, a luxurious black Lamborghini, speeding fast, stopped between the two towers. Then the car changed rapidly, transforming into a black Transformer. It climbed onto the tower, watching in one direction, which happened to be Cade's home.

In front of Cade's house, six black cars stopped, and a military helicopter hovered in the sky.

"Dad," Tessa, sitting in front of the door, called out loud.

Cade and Lucas stepped out and looked at the men in sunglasses and black clothes coming down from the cars.

"Mr. Yeager, this is Federal Agent James, and we are looking for an abandoned truck," the man wearing sunglasses, named James, said to Cade.

The other men in black held guns and looked around as if searching for something.

James looked around. "This is a really good place to live. It's peaceful and quiet."

"Thank you, but I'm not going to sell it. Are you looking for a car or want to fix yours?" Cade casually pointed to a broken car.

"No, someone told me that they were worried because there was an unidentifiable truck here that should be checked. Say, you wouldn't happen to know something about it, would you?" James looked at Cade.

Cade shook his head. "No, and my only worry is that you broke into my home without permission, which is against the law. I don't know what truck you are talking about."

"The kind that will take the lives of Americans," James said with a grim expression. "Search this place."

Federal agents with guns walked toward Cade's house.

Cade shouted, "Stop right there! You have no search warrant!"

James pointed to his face. "My face is a search warrant."

"If you find the truck, you would give me a reward, right?" Lucas shouted these words, and after hearing it, everyone knew that Lucas had notified these people.

Cade gave Lucas a stern glance, but there was nothing he could do.

After a while, the agents came out. "We didn't find anything."

"Sir, there is an unexploded warhead in the trash can," an agent cried.

"It hasn't exploded? I put it in there. Now tell me, will you claim that it's a fake bomb?" Lucas shouted at Cade.

James twisted his head. "An unexploded warhead, is it?"

Cade immediately said, "Yes, I found a truck. I was going to take it apart, and it was here last night. But it disappeared this morning. I don't know where it went."

A voice came from James's earphones: "He said 'he.' He knows where he is."

James took off his sunglasses. "Mr. Yeager."

"What happened?"

"Excuse me, you said 'he.' You know where 'he' is. Catch them all," James yelled.

"Let me go! What are you doing?" Tessa and Lucas called.

Cade exclaimed, "They don't know anything! Let them go! You can ask me anything you want. I don't know where it is."

"What kind of person would rather protect an alien than their loved ones?" James said viciously. "Take them away and search the entire area."

"Let me go! Lucas, this happened because of you! You called them here. Did you know what kind of people they are?" Tessa said angrily.

Lucas immediately said, "No, I didn't know this would happen."

"You can't be rough on a woman! Get away from me!" Tessa struggled hard, trying to push the person holding her away.

"Let go of my daughter! She doesn't know anything!" Cade was knocked to the ground by several people.

There was a voice from James's earphones again: "Savoy, use that girl."

The person holding Tessa pushed her to the ground, held her head with a gun, and nearly pressed the trigger.

"Hey, you bastard! If you want to shoot someone, then shoot me!" Cade shouted.

"You forced me. I'll give you ten seconds. Tell me where he is, or you will never see your daughter alive again," James said somberly. "Ten, nine."

Tessa was horrified, her eyes red. She had never experienced such a dangerous situation. "Please, don't shoot."

---

Not far from Cade's house, a white car stopped, and the person inside looked at Cade's house. "What happened here?"

"Isn't this obvious?" A voice came from the window.

"It's you."

"That's right, it is me, Shane." William smiled bitterly, grabbing Shane's hair, pulling him out from the narrow window, and throwing him on the ground.

William smiled. "There's nothing for you here. So why not play with me for some time?"

"What are you doing?" Shane said in pain.

"What are you talking about?" William kicked Shane's body.

"Ah!" Shane yelled in pain. His body flew from the force and fell heavily to the ground as he passed out.

---

Outside of Cade's house, James said fiercely, "Two seconds left."

"Fuckers! Let my daughter go! Let her go! The truck is really gone!" Cade shouted.

James twisted his head. "One."

"Please, don't!" Tessa shed tears. Was she going to die? A figure flashed through her mind, and she realized she would never see him again.

"Ah!" The man who was about to kill Tessa screamed. A round shield struck him. The powerful impact sent him flying more than twenty meters and directly to the ground.
