World Hopping With Gacha

Chapter 81: Ch 81:Birthday

---

It was the night of December 24, and the past four months had been a whirlwind for Arthur. With the official release of the game set for New Year's, he had barely found time to relax. Every day had been a cycle of refining mechanics, overseeing final assets, and making sure everything was running smoothly. Despite the overwhelming workload, he couldn't deny the excitement buzzing in the air.

During these four months, Arthur had received twelve rewards from the Gacha. Most were useful but not particularly game-changing. However, five of them stood out significantly.

---

Arthur's five standout rewards from the Gacha were anything but ordinary.

1. Blank Energy Module – A versatile skill that allowed him to absorb, convert, and utilize any form of energy, whether spiritual, magical, or kinetic. With enough mastery, he could seamlessly switch between different power sources.

2. Dreamwalker's Quill – A mystical writing tool that let him implant ideas directly into someone's mind, subtly influencing their thoughts and creativity.

3. Narration – A reality-bending ability that let him adjust the narrative in his favor, tweaking events subtly to steer outcomes without outright breaking logic.

4. Glasses of Reality – These enhanced his Mathematics skill, letting him perceive the world in a coded structure. By applying mathematical principles, he could decipher, predict, or even manipulate certain aspects of reality with precision.

5. Mystical Sketchbook – Anything he drew in this sketchbook could materialize into reality, but only inanimate objects. With enough detail, he could create fully functional tools, weapons, or even intricate architectural designs.

Each of these rewards had the potential to be game-changing, but Arthur knew that power was only as useful as how he applied it.

Arthur pulled out his phone and tapped the screen. "Albert, handle the rest," he instructed his AI butler. A soft chime confirmed the order, and the remaining tasks at the warehouse were seamlessly delegated.

Glancing at the clock, he noticed it was almost midnight. Stretching his arms, Arthur let out a small sigh. "Time to call it a day."

Locking up the warehouse, he walked over to his sleek black motorcycle. The engine roared to life as he revved it, the night air crisp against his skin as he sped off into the quiet city streets.

As Arthur rode through the city streets, the neon lights reflected off his visor, casting colorful streaks against the dark pavement. The roads were mostly empty, the occasional car passing by as he maneuvered effortlessly through the quiet night.

The cold breeze brushed against his face, refreshing after hours of intense work. His mind wandered, thinking about the game's upcoming release and the rewards he had obtained from the Gacha.

Before long, he arrived home. Parking his bike, he stretched before heading inside, ready to finally get some well-deserved rest.

Here's a refined version including the birthday scene:

As Arthur stepped inside, he immediately tossed his jacket onto the couch and stretched, feeling exhaustion settle in. The dim glow of his apartment felt oddly comforting after the chaos of the past few months. He glanced at the time—just a few minutes past midnight.

Albert's voice chimed through the speakers of his phone, "Welcome home, Master Arthur. Shall I prepare something for you?"

Arthur shook his head. "Nah, I just need—"

Before he could finish, the lights suddenly flickered on, and a loud "SURPRISE!" echoed through the apartment.

Arthur blinked, momentarily stunned, as he took in the scene before him. Utaha, Eriri, Megumi, Tomoya, and even the Kessoku band were all gathered, the room decorated with banners and balloons. A large cake sat on the table, candles flickering invitingly.

"Happy birthday, Arthur!" Utaha said with a smirk, holding a wrapped gift.

Arthur ran a hand through his hair, laughing. "You guys planned this?"

Megumi nodded. "Of course. You've been so busy with the game that you probably forgot, right?"

Tomoya grinned. "And we figured you deserved a break."

Arthur sighed, shaking his head. "I really didn't expect this… Thanks, everyone."

"Less talking, more celebrating!" Eriri huffed, pushing him toward the table.

As he blew out the candles, Arthur couldn't help but smile. For the first time in a long while, he felt truly at home.

As the candles flickered out, the room filled with applause. Utaha smirked. "So, what did you wish for?"

Arthur leaned back, stretching. "Wouldn't be a secret if I told you."

Eriri rolled her eyes. "Typical."

Tomoya handed him a small box. "Here, open it."

Arthur unwrapped it to reveal a custom-made game controller, engraved with the Blessing Studios logo.

Hitori grinned. "Figured you'd need one for when the game officially drops."

Arthur chuckled. "You guys are the best."

The night continued with laughter, gifts, and a well-earned break.

As the celebration continued, Arthur found himself caught in an impromptu game tournament with Tomoya and Eriri, while Utaha sat beside him, sipping her drink with a knowing smile.

"So, Arthur," Utaha leaned in slightly, "How does it feel to be another year older?"

Arthur smirked. "About the same, except now I have an excuse to slack off for the night."

Hitori strummed a few notes on her guitar. "Then consider this our break before the big launch."

The mood was lighthearted, but everyone knew—once the new year hit, it was game time.

As the party wound down, guests gradually bid their farewells. Tomoya left first, muttering something about last-minute edits, while Eriri yawned and waved Arthur off before dragging Megumi with her. Hitori and the rest of the band packed up their instruments, exchanging casual goodbyes before heading out into the cold night.

Now, only Arthur and Utaha remained. She leaned against the couch, sipping the last of her drink, watching him with a small, unreadable smile.

Arthur raised an eyebrow. "Not leaving yet?"

Utaha stood up and tilted her head. "Do you want me to?"

Arthur looked at her, his usual easygoing smile fading into something softer, more serious. He stepped closer, the atmosphere between them shifting with every breath. Utaha didn't pull away; instead, she held his gaze, her lips barely curving into a playful smile.

Without a word, Arthur leaned in, closing the distance. The moment hung in the air, as if the world itself held its breath. Their lips met, gentle at first, as if testing the waters, before deepening, a quiet affirmation of everything that had been building between them.

When they finally pulled apart, Arthur gave her a small, almost amused smile. "Guess we're not quite done yet, huh?"

Utaha's smile softened, her eyes holding something tender. "No," she whispered. "Not yet."

Arthur and Utaha stood in the quiet of the room, the weight of the moment pressing in on them. The energy of the party faded into the background as they shared a look that said everything without words. The kiss had sealed something between them, something unspoken but undeniably real.

Utaha lingered for a moment before softly whispering, "I don't want this to be just a fleeting moment." Her words hung in the air, filled with meaning, as the two of them stood there, knowing things had changed in the best way possible.

Arthur smiled gently at Utaha, taking a step closer. "I don't want it to be fleeting either," he replied, his voice low and sincere. "I've never been sure of things before, but with you… I'm sure." His hand reached for hers, his fingers brushing against hers as if solidifying the unspoken promise between them.

Utaha's heart skipped a beat, her expression softening. "Then let's make it last," she whispered, and in that moment, both knew they were beginning a new chapter together.
