World Devouring Dragon

Chapter 26: The Princess’s Test

Ron was led to his chambers by a palace maid, her face flushed red as she stole glances at him.

"This will be your resting quarters, Young Master Ron," she said softly, bowing slightly.

Ron nodded and stepped inside. The imperial palace was luxurious beyond measure, and his guest chamber was no exception. A vast jade bed, golden silk drapes, and an array of rare incense filled the air with a calming fragrance.

He sat down on the jade bed, closing his eyes. His body was still recovering from the tournament battles, and he could feel the power of his seven lit dragon scales slowly stabilizing within him.

"The Spiritual Pool, huh?" he thought. "I wonder how much it will help my cultivation."

As he was about to enter meditation—

Knock. Knock.

Ron's golden eyes snapped open.

"Come in," he said casually.

The door slid open, revealing none other than Princess Lingxi herself.

She stepped inside gracefully, her crimson robes adorned with phoenix patterns, her long flowing hair shimmering under the moonlight.

Ron raised an eyebrow. "Visiting a man's chamber at night, Your Highness? Aren't you worried about rumors?"

The Princess smirked. "I am the Princess. Who would dare spread rumors about me?"

Ron chuckled. "Fair point."

She walked closer and sat down beside him, her gaze turning serious.

"I came here to test something," she said.

Ron leaned back lazily. "Oh? And what would that be?"

Lingxi hesitated for a moment before revealing, "My Phoenix Bloodline."

Ron's eyes narrowed slightly.

"The Imperial Family has a pure Phoenix Bloodline," she continued. "But… for some reason, I have never been able to awaken it fully. No matter how much I cultivate, it remains dormant."

She met his gaze.

"But when I saw you fight in the tournament, something in my blood stirred."

Ron's expression remained calm, but inwardly, he was intrigued.

"Could her bloodline be reacting to my World Devouring Dragon Bloodline?"

Lingxi extended her hand forward, a faint golden-red glow appearing around it. "I want to see if our bloodlines resonate. If they do… then maybe—"

Before she could finish, a powerful force erupted from Ron's body.

RUMBLE!

Lingxi's Phoenix Bloodline trembled violently the moment it came into contact with Ron's aura.

Her eyes widened in shock.

A terrifying dragon aura burst out of Ron's body, filling the room with pressure so intense that her Phoenix Bloodline failed to activate.

Lingxi's breath hitched.

"Impossible… my bloodline should be one of the strongest… yet in front of him, it's completely suppressed!"

She clenched her fists, trying to force her Phoenix Bloodline to awaken—

But it was no use.

The World Devouring Dragon's presence completely dominated her Phoenix Bloodline, rendering it powerless.

Ron smirked. "Looks like the dragon is stronger than the phoenix."

Lingxi exhaled, her face filled with mixed emotions—shock, frustration, but also excitement.

"I… I've never felt anything like this before," she admitted. "Your bloodline is truly… terrifying."

Ron's golden eyes glowed faintly. "Of course. A Phoenix might soar in the skies, but a Dragon… rules them."

Lingxi bit her lip, staring at him intensely. For the first time in her life, she had met someone who completely overwhelmed her.

She suddenly smiled.

"I think… I like you even more now, Ron."

Ron smirked but said nothing.

For now, he had proven his dominance over her bloodline.

But what would this mean for the future?
