Chapter 74: ch 72 (end) It has been a glorious ride
Anna's POV:
"Daddy, Daddy, Daddy." Sarah yelled and rushed off like a rocket as soon as I opened the front door.
Sarah was already seven years old. After the birth Simone had never contacted us again. She moved out of the apartment in which she had given birth the next day and completely left that chapter of her life behind.
Personally, I believed that Simone had made the best choice for her daughter. In the few months in which I knew her, she had proven to me that she really was not the motherly type. She was ambitious and driven and had no patience for things that distracted her from her goal.
It had been heartbreaking when Jason had to tell his five years old daughter about her mother but we all agreed that telling her the truth from the start would be the right thing to do, no matter how much it hurt.
Sarah was developing like a normal human child though there was a delicate venomous scent that was getting stronger with each year. But so far she showed no signs that would betray her origins.
"I got invited to Stacy's birthday party and we are having a slumber party as well. Can I go? Can I? Can I?" She rattled off after she jumped into Jason's arms, gazing up at him with her big sparkly blue eyes.
My son looked puzzled at me.
"She and Stacy are friends again." I whispered and Jason just rolled his eyes.
"Alright then cupcake." He said and placed a kiss on the top of her head.
"Yay," she cheered, jumped out of her father's arms and ran to stand in front of me, gazing with those big eyes of hers into my own. Her hands were clasped together in front of her chest.
"Can we go shopping for Stacy's present?" She asked in the cutest voice, throwing in a sweet pout.
"Why aren't you asking me?" Jason questioned.
Sarah turned her head slowly around, frowning adorably at her father.
We chuckled. Shopping for Jason meant; going into the store, grabbing what he needed, paying for it and out he was in record time.
"How about we ask nana Esme, Auntie Alice and Auntie Rose when they get back home and we all go shopping together?"
"Really?" She asked and her face lit up.
"Well, of course only if your homework …" I was saying and she grabbed the backpack she had thrown to the floor and rushed off to her room.
"You are still as mean as ever, mom." My son chuckled.
"And whose fault is that? After all, she's got you and everyone else in this house wrapped around her little finger." I raised an eyebrow at him and he shrugged, looking sheepishly at me.
XOXOXO
"Yes, I just got your e-mail," I said into the phone as I looked at the pictures that Esme send me.
"The houses look great."
"They need a bit of remodelling but I think I can make them work." Esme murmured thoughtfully.
"I'm sure you can, Esme." I laughed.
"Oh, I have to go. I have another appointment with the realtor. She told me about this house that just came on the market. It sounded promising."
"Alright, I see you when you come back."
"Bye." Esme said and ended the call.
"Do we have to move?" Asked an annoyed and pouty voice from behind me.
"You know eavesdropping is not nice." I said typing up an e-mail.
"As if you hadn't heard me." Sarah grumped and went to the fridge.
"Don't use that tone with me."
"What about all of my friends," she suddenly turned around to face me, acting as if she had not heard me, "and we just moved like five years ago." She crossed her arms over her chest stubbornly and glared at me.
"It's been eight years. We moved here when you were four. We are pushing it as it is."
"I can't even stay in contact with my friends." She exclaimed.
"Would you rather that they found out that we are Vampires?"
"Arrhh," she screamed, slammed the fridge close and stormed off into her room, letting the music play loudly.
At least there was no "you are ruining my life!" this time.
I gave Alice a look when she danced inside the kitchen.
"What I just waited for the storm to pass." She shrugged innocently.
I sighed, "Jason had been so much easier."
"Teenage girls. What will you do?" She said as she came to sit down on the stool beside me.
"Yeah, imagine what is going to be happening once she drags a boy home?"
"Who is doing what?" Edward asked when he came inside the kitchen. He stood right next to me and placed a tender kiss on my temple.
"We are talking about Sarah's first potential boyfriend." Alice beamed and Edward's mood soured.
Alice and I giggled at the adorable frown on my husband's face.
"Over my dead body." He mumbled under his breathe.
I turned on the stool to face him.
"Well, that isn't much of a problem then, is it?" I smiled at him.
Alice laughed while he gave a less then amused look.
I heard a gasp from behind me and when I turned around I saw that Alice's eyes were glazed over. She was having a vision.
Edward's eyes were narrowed as he watched the vision that was playing out in her mind.
When she came out of it, she was beaming.
"I have to call Esme." She squealed, excited.
"And why is that?" I wondered.
"We will be moving to New England and not Alaska."
I frowned at her.
"Jason's mate, she will be in that area, in maybe the next two, three years," she said as she was dialling the phone. "Hello, Esme it's me. You will never guess what I just saw….." she squealed into the phone.
I looked curiously at my husband.
"I saw a girl. She is one of us. Apparently, Alice had seen her before in visions." He glared at our sister that was happily chatting away.
"You know Alice. She's not one to spill the goods immediately."
Edward pouted at me.
"What? We got a rebellious, sullen teen in the house. You got to bring on far more to rill me up at this point." I shrugged.
Edward smiled in spite of himself and shook his head.
"Well then let's hope that she, whoever she is, has a strong stomach."
"And why is that?" His brows were drawn together in confusion.
"She doesn't only potentially get a mate but also an entire family and a moody, rebellious teenage stepdaughter. If she were smart she would run for the hills."
He gaped at me. I laughed at his expression.
It seemed turbulent times were awaiting us in the future…
The End!
Thank you for joining me on this journey. I wish you all the best.
