Chapter 33: Chapter 33: The Blind Nun

At the edge of the former Pasha domain, within a cluster of modest houses, Wolf One silently landed between two buildings. Shifting from its beastly wolf form into its humanoid werewolf state, it treaded noiselessly, leaving the surrounding homes undisturbed.

As the super werewolf passed, the wildflowers and grasses by the roadside began to wither. Their stems drooped, their vitality fading in the presence of Wolf One's malevolent aura. The unnatural extension of life that defined werewolves blurred the boundaries between life and death, and with the power of the supermoon enhancing this state, even plants recoiled in protest.

Under the supermoon's light, all of Wolf One's senses were heightened to extraordinary levels. The air itself carried scents like markers, each one betraying the emotional state of those nearby. The rapid, rhythmic beats of human hearts resonated through walls, their echoes laying bare the locations of the fearful.

Su Nan observed through Wolf One's eyes and identified a particular house at the outskirts. Beneath it lay a hidden chamber where a dozen adults resided. Their quickened heartbeats betrayed pain and terror, marking them as participants in a forbidden ritual.

Wolf One moved silently toward the house. Through the window, three cultists peered nervously outside. On the ground encircling the house, peculiar stones etched with twisted runes radiated a faint, ominous glow. The runes appeared to repel ordinary humans, creating a psychological barrier that instinctively deterred them from approaching.

"These runes are fascinating," Su Nan murmured through the connection. "AI, record them."

The runes, resembling an alien script, were possibly the language of the energy creatures' world. If Su Nan could decipher their meaning, it might lead to breakthroughs in replicating their energy shell technology.

Once the AI finished recording, Su Nan issued a single command: "Advance."

Wolf One stepped forward, its massive paw hesitating above the stone circle before slamming down, shattering several of the inscribed rocks. The protective barrier had no effect on the super werewolf, whose iron will, bolstered by Su Nan's control, rendered such minor disruptions useless.

Inside the house, the cultists screamed in panic.

"It's inside! The monster is inside!"

"The stones didn't work! They stopped Pasha's men before—why not now?" one cultist wailed.

"Why does this new lord command such creatures? He's just a filthy human! Humans are the ugliest, lowest beings! Only by offering ourselves to them can we find purpose!"

Wolf One burst through the door, its sheer force turning the wooden frame into a deadly projectile. The flying debris struck the three cultists, killing them instantly.

Su Nan showed no pity. These people, while victims of Pasha's brutal rule, had chosen a path of blind hatred, aligning themselves with beings that harbored a fundamental disdain for humanity. The atrocities they sought to bring into the world could not be justified, even by their grievances.

Descending into the basement, Wolf One found the iron door blocking its path. With a swipe of its iron claws, the door yielded, leaving a gaping entrance to the underground chamber.

Meanwhile, Su Nan, observing from afar, issued instructions to the AI. "Analyze the surrounding environment. There's a powerful ritual at work here."

AI Response:

The area is indeed being altered by a strong ritual. Recommend using the wolfpack link to emit consistent mana pulses every 0.2 seconds, extending to a 10-meter radius. This method will disrupt the ritual's precision and allow for environmental feedback collection.

Su Nan nodded. Through the wolfpack link, he channeled his and his werewolves' mana into regular pulses, transforming Wolf One into a living mana radar. Each step the super werewolf took resonated through the chamber, sending tremors that unnerved the cultists below.

In the basement, the air was thick with fear. Mirrors lined the walls, their surfaces warped and filled with strange, shadowy forms. One figure, its claw-like hands elongated like blades, moved erratically within the largest mirror, its frustration palpable.

The shadow, sensing Wolf One's approach, began to retreat.

"This isn't worth it," it hissed. "The gate will open again. Humanity's greed and ignorance will ensure it. This time, I'll withdraw."

It turned to flee deeper into the mirrored realm but collided with another figure advancing from the darkness.

"You… Blind Nun?"

An icy voice replied, filled with disdain. "Step aside."

"You coward, cowering from mortals. If you won't act, let me pass. I will descend and claim the blood sacr

ifices myself. Their delicious flesh belongs to me!"
